Great little Chateau near centre of Bourges, and close to motorway. Good quality and slightly quirky room on top floor. A good stay..!

I love coming back to this charming place in Bourges area. Very friendly staff who even tried to teach me some french. :) The receptionists are very helpful and have a good knowledge of what to experience during my stay. The city of Sancerre on the Loire is worth a whole day. But get someone else to drive you back... :D I have been here some times before, and I am looking forward to my next visit. Easy to find and a beautiful view. In the back of the garden, there is a path to a beautiful walk around the lake Lac d'Auron.

Excellent stay as always. Lovely grounds and very helpful staff.

Reception on arrival very good. Bedroom and bathroom could do with a bit of TLC. Kitchenette lacking in crockery and cutlery. Had to ask for a kettle, bowls and spoons so we could have some soup. Breakfast was very nice and the service at breakfast was very good

This property was less than we expected, from the photographs. It appeared to be run down and not at all cared for.

Great place to stay en route to the south of France! And a great base to then explore the centre of Bourges only a short drive away. No air conditioning however which was a challenge given the very hot night we were there!

The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The accomodation was lovely and the rooms a good size. Was able to enjoy a lovely picnic in the gardens under the cooling shade of the large trees. Lovely place to stay whilst visiting Bourges

Great choice for a stopover en route to catch ferry at the end of our holiday. Staff were incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English. Beautiful surroundings, plenty of parking and spacious room with a waterside view. Exactly what we needed at the end of long day of driving. Breakfast in the morning was very good. I would choose Château de Lazenay again.

Adequate and cheap. Thankfully we were there in the spring time--no AC!

Hotel is on a man made lake 10-15 mins driving from the city center. We had a room in the attic which was decently sized but there is a significant roof slant. The bathroom is pretty spacious but the shower is a small closet. WiFi worked pretty well. We never used the kitchenette but there were pots/pans and byo utensils etc. An employee did offer us the use of glasses for our wine. Breakfast was a very simple offering of croissants, cereal, yogurt, and assorted drink options. There was plenty of parking. There are some nice trails for walking/running/biking around the lake.

Lovely hotel with very helpful staff. Don’t hesitate to ask for anything. The receptionist heard me talking about teabags and straight away asked if we needed a kettle for the room.

This was the perfect place to be on Bastille Day. The fireworks were right on the water near the hotel! The room was nice and they brought an extra bed for my daughter. Since the stairs were steep, we only brought up what we needed. The hostess was so sweet and always making sure we were happy. Loved this little gem.

Very cute hotel at a reasonable price. Large room and bathroom, with small cooking area. If you are not able to climb stairs, this is not for you. no elevator. The hotel staff was suburb. Mary- Lene was awesome! We asked for suggestions to some shops and she was spot on with her recommendations. She even let us know about the out door market and gave us directions and was attentive to our every need. Hotel is 10 minutes outside of town, with a car, easy to reach. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and would stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself was just a pain, in more ways than one. I wasn't told there was no elevator, and my room was on the top floor, up 3 flights of stairs in a narrow stairwell. I had two very heavy bags, and I had to carry them up and down the stairs. It was rather dangerous actually, I almost fell. The bed was very uncomfortable, the shower ran out of hot water very, very fast, and the room smelled like moth balls. As an added frustration, the wifi did not work well either. Overall, I would not stay here again.

I Keep returning TO this hôtel because it is an over aller an excellent place to stay, location wise, service, service and quality/price.

We stayed overnight on return from Spain. Staff were very pleasant. Rooms were fairly basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was continental only but first class. Immaculate dining room, nice croissants and pastries and a lovely view over the grounds. Staff were very helpful and chatty.

Nice location, blisteringly hot and with a nice garden overlooking the lake it would have been nice to sit outside but no garden furniture not even a bench. We arrived mid evening hot and thirsty after a long drive and no where to get a drink not even a bottle of water, so ok if you go well prepared and just want a room to sleep in

I loved this hotel. The rooms were spacious and decor was lovely. I wish we had stayed longer. I would have liked to have spent more time in the area and walked the path behind the hotel. I found the rates to be very reasonable, the location great, and the hotel staff to be warm and welcoming.

We were so surprised to find such a lovely room (larger than some others we stayed at this visit) and a lake view from the window at such a reasonable price. Very clean as well. Provided good directions to free parking in the medieval town (which we did in the evening, so maybe it wasn't free in the day, but I think it was).

This chateau is conveniently situated south of Bourges centre, surrounded by residences but overlooking a pleasant lake. It has been renovated to provide unpretentious and modest accommodation. Our room included a kitchenette which was useful on the Sunday we arrived when few restaurants were open. Cutlery and plates have to be requested from the staff. The staff are friendly and helpful. However, the shower holder was broken and the basin had a crack in it; neither seemed new problems but when we mentioned the shower to the staff member, he responded by commenting that his was a recurring problem. Shame such a small but irritating problem it cannot be fixed effectively.

It's always preferable to stay in a charming old building a little removed from the motorway (and its usual clutter of faceless new-builds) and to get a room in one for such a reasonable price. The fact that there is no lift is a very small price to pay. It's the kind of place where you aren't itching to get on the road again early next morning, but wouldn't mind staying another night.

A clean, quite room overlooking the lake. Plenty of parking in the grounds. Really helpful reception staff who spoke good English. Good buffet breakfast. A short drive to the town centre.

The manager was friendly and full of great information. I really enjoyed my stay at this Chateau and the lovely surroundings. Don't miss the cathedral in town.
