Tucked away at a quieter part of the Byward Market. I had a decent sleep there after a late night out in the market. Rooms seemed renovated. I found it clean and comfortable. The included continental breakfast was very decent actually.

We were passing through Ottawa and wanted to stop to visit our son for a couple nights. We booked last minute not sure what Byward Blue would be like. It was great. Excellent location. European style rooms and a great breakfast. The coffee was very good as well!

My stay was excellent. I got a room at the ground level (same as frontdesk), good size, high ceiling with patio access. The hotel is close to many restaurants. The breakfast was plentiful with a good variaty of food. I higly recommend it.

Kind of unusual, and a little tricky to find the way in at first until you know, but a real hidden gem. The room was big, everything worked, and the location very central. Parking close by (sort of underneath). The area, like all central Ottawa the past few years, is really struggling to support the people that clearly need help for addictions or health issues, but this is as good a spot as you'll get and we didn't feel unsafe (though we had to cross the road once when someone who was really wired wanted to throw his milkshake into a restaurant or passerby). The number one cool think about this property that doesn't actually change anything, but would make me want to stay there again, is the artwork. It's all by one (deceased) artist, and it's everywhere, in the stair wells, halls, different places. It's really cool, and one of a kind. Makes it from a good place into a special place.

Check in staff & housekeepers, morning severs for breakfast were super friendly. The breakfast was excellent that had offered hot foods, pastries, fresh fruits, yogurts and etc. I will highly recommend this budget property.

Spacious room clean good breakfast

The location us great and the neighborhood is quiet. we enjoyed the breakfast and found everything perfect though the in room air conditioner was a bit noisy

The breakfast offered many options including a milk alternative (soy is not my favourite, but at least there was a non-dairy alternative). The beds were comfortable and the hotel was very quiet. Location was convenient, but car charging was a bit challenging to find (there is charging in the parkade next door to hotel though!)

Great breakfast buffet. Cute room with balcony. Close to ByWard Market. Everything you need for a visit to Ottawa.

We have stayed here many times. As always, the staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is plentiful, and location is excellent.

Great room

Great property..they let us check-in early on arrival. Rooms are properly maintained and balcony had awesome view of the Parliament Hill. Location is really good with all major tourist locations at walking distance.

Located right among the night life of Byward Market. Would stay again as it had everything that we needed.

The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was clean and offered a great variety of amenities. Breakfast was excellent, and the location provided easy access to nearby attractions like ByWard Market, the National Gallery, and Parliament Hill. While it can get a bit noisy at night due to nearby bars and restaurants, I slept well and wasn't bothered by it at all.

Good location close to everything

Two things: 1. the AC apparatus is standing on the floor, you won't see it on the pictures, and it is the loudest I've ever heard. I had to turn it off during the night. 2. I booked because of the balcony. The balcony is indeed good. But not the chairs. The chair fell to PIECES under me. First, I sat there with my 6 month old baby in my arms. The chair held, at the time, thank goodness. Then I came back to it, 20 minutes later, with my laptop. And the chair immediately fell apart under me. Had this happened with the baby in my hands, baby could have hit his head on the balcony railing, AS did I. No injuries, but let me tell you, that balcony is not worth the risk. Oh and, the front desk guy, the only thing he had to say was, we gotta replace the chair. No apology, not even to ask if I'm okay or anything. I told him about the lucky break it didn't happen with the baby in my arms, no reaction, just staring. I was carrying things to my car after that, and next thing I know, there is a chair, same wooden, heavily painted chair, folded against the wall, waiting to be carried in and set to fall under the next person. Do I need to say more? I hope you know what's worth it and what isn't. Or, BYOC: bring your own chair.

Thoroughly enjoying this location. Room is very quaint, bed is very comfortable, sheets very fresh smelling! Bathroom very clean! All important for me when staying in a hotel room. Sweet little balcony overlooking a very delightful garden courtyard. Would definitely recommend this place for a stay. Will be back next when in Ottawa.

We have been at the Byward Inn more than once. We really like the parking next door and the ease to get in and out. The breakfast is wonderful. There is a big selection and everything you can imagine from cereal to eggs, fresh fruit, good coffee and croissants. Our room is always comfortable and very clean. The staff are extremely helpful.

The staff was amazingly helpful and very polite. Easy access to the room. The cleanest of rooms was very appreciative. They gave shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap dispenser in the bathroom. The breakfast: scrambled and boiled eggs, one day it was bacon the other sausages, different kinds of breads for toasts, muffins, croissants, yogurt, orange and apple juice, coffee, choice of milk, cream hot milk, 2 kinds of fruits, regular water and water with citrus. This was a very awesome breakfast. Will return and highly recommend this establishment.
