Lovely room, loads of room in both bedroom and bathroom. The best was amazingly comfy.

We stayed in the loft suite which was spacious and thoughtfully decorated. We particularly like the Moomin pictures on the wall!

Location on the edge of York city center was an easy walk to all attractions. Convenient for both car (large city parking lot nearby) and rail (station just across the river). We had a large room with a very spacious bathroom, all done to satisfaction.

Very comfortable, clean, well placed for City Centre. Ideal for short stay in York. Only downsides: broadband very weak; limited - and surprisingly expensive for what it was breakfast.

Hotel excellent staff very helpful, very convenient to walk to all amenities, rooms excellent, very clean and comfortable and spacious. Ideal if travelling by train short walk to station. Look forward to staying again. Highly recommended.

Best place ive stayed in a really long time. Friendly welcome and the lady was so helpful and printed some importent documents for me. Decor of the room was so nice, like staying in someones home rather than a soul less hotel. Location was absolutely perfect and i had such a nice walk to work along the river and in to town.

We couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. Me and my fiancè stayed for 2 nights in a luxury double and the room was very good with good facilities. It’s the little nice touches such as fresh milk and a hot water bottle in the room. The bed was really comfortable and the hotel is in a good location within walking distance of the main shopping area. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely location and very comfortable.

I had a lovely stay at Jorvik House. The rooms are contemporary, very clean, and stylish. The hotel is on a quiet road directly across from the Museum Gardens, which makes access into York town centre very easy. The bathroom was small but perfect for me (solo traveller) with an amazing waterfall shower. My only criticism is that I found the bed ever so slightly lumpy in places but it didn't stop me from getting a decent night's sleep. Good quality bedding and pillows though. The minibar was a nice addition too. I had a great stay here, the staff are so, so kind and friendly. I only wish I'd booked to stay a bit longer!

Paint chipping off the wall, a used contact lens in the bathroom, stained blankets, paper thin walls, the door to the bathroom needs replacing. £175 was way too much, also if you advertise a king size bed you should provide it. It was only a double

We arrived much earlier than the check in time due to our trains, and the room was available so we were able to check in before midday, but even if we couldn’t, they were happy to look after the luggage. The room was spacious, comfortable, with fantastic views over the museum gardens gates with a short pleasant stroll the the minister (gardens gate shut at 6pm so it’s an extra 1-2minutes to go around). The bed was a decent size, comfortable, warm duvet, 2 pillows each side. It was a fantastic stay and would highly recommend staying here, and we will be back.

Unfortunately not a great stay, room was basic, carpet was all loose (really bad trip hazard). Glass door between room and bathroom gave no privacy, window in bathroom had no blind and therefore early light woke us up. Housekeeping banging on our door at 10.30 to clean room when checkout was 11am! Not even a bottle of complimentary water

Very friendly and helpful staff from the minute we arrived to the minute we left . Property kept in tip top condition room very welcoming and cosy excellent space and toilets very very clean . Staff very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and could recommend and answer any queries.Would definitely recommend and we plan to travel again soon to this hotel. David and Hazel .

Excellent stay, very comfortable bed, numerous opportunities for good dining, and breakfast in bed. All added to an wonderful stay in York.

Jirvik House could not have been more perfect for our trip needs. Close to the historic district and right next door to the beautiful city park, we were basically able to fall out of bed every morning and within 5 minutes we were at a lovely cafe for breakfast or hiking to our first cathedral/castle/Viking stomping grounds.

Brilliant stay - always come back here when we’re visiting York. Great location that’s walkable to the centre but nice and quiet, lovely rooms, a real gem

Very comfortable and clean with distinctive character and very thoughtful, friendly hosts. The location was ideal and the simple breakfast we ordered quite tasty. I would love to return if in York again.

Really enjoyed staying at Jorvik House. It was so nicely cleaned and set up for us, and the staff were really friendly.

Everything was great except the cleaning supplies they use. Very strong smell was left in the room that had a strong perfume scent. Very rough on someone with bad allergies. The bathroom could have used some paint work, but I really could not complain overall and it was a great stay. I would certainly recommend to others.

This property was adorable and the location was perfect. I would have given it 5 stars but they gave no indication of all the stairs!! My husband had just had knee surgery and we booked the studio which was on the 4th floor. The stairs were pretty steep and there wasn't a lift. When had to change rooms to the 3rd floor, of which I'm still waiting on a credit. I wish I would've known about all the stairs. With that said, the room was super comfy and the location couldn't have been better. I would recommend this place and would stay there again (just would request a room lower).

Great location, Friendly welcome and a beautiful and clean place. All the rooms are spacious and have all amenities - coffee, sweets and cookies!!!!!
