Friendly and comfortable

I enjoyed my stay at Maarten’s guest house. Maarten was very friendly. The guest house is in a safe area and the room was clean. I would stay here again if I were to visit Cape Town in the near future.

Lovely Guesthouse. Maarten was very welcoming and advised us lots of places to eat. He also let us leave our luggage and stay around the pool for the afternoon while we waited to leave for our flight back to the UK. Lovely view from the balcony, which we loved.

We finished our holyday at Maartens guesthouse. It was great and we can recommend this place to everybody ! Our son and his wife where there two years before, and their advise was very good!! Special compliments and thanks for Maarten Jansen, who did all conceivable to make our stay in Capetown unforgettable.

It is a very good lodge. Airport shuttle service is so comfortable. However, wifi is only available in a lobby.

Maarten & staff were very welcoming & helpful. Breakfast catered for all nationalities. They gave us tips on where to visit & eat. We enjoy walking so their distance from shops & eateries were not a problem. Large choice of restaurants/cafes.

Away from the busy part of the town, but it is easy to walk down to restaurants and shops. Great breakfast on a rooftop terrace with views of the ocean.

Business Travel. Accommodation was clean and service outstanding. Thank you Maarten.I was slightly late on arrival - and still I received a friendly welcome and a lovely room.Will definitely be back for my nest business stay and also recommend to my colleagues.

Maarten's Guesthouse was a breath of fresh air after the long activity packed days my mum and I had planned! Our trip was during low season, so the house was quiet, but still pleasant. Its the small things that count - a well stocked fridge with beverages, snacks, personalized notes, and an invitation to help ourselves to the kitchen after a late evening arrival without the hassle of leaving the comfort of "home". Maarten really went out of his way to make our stay wonderful. I hurt my foot one morning and he rushed - on his own accord - to the pharmacy to get me a brace. This truly was a peaceful haven on the hills!

Maarten's Guest House was a wonderful find! The host was most welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts included fresh fruit, a selection of fresh rolls and eggs cooked to order, served by cheerful staff. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. There was secure parking on the premises for our car and I liked staying in a residential neighborhood where we could walk down the hill to a shopping area and restaurants about 10 minutes away.

We had such a great time staying here. Maarten and his staff were so accommodating. It's a perfect location and very well maintained. We will definitely be coming back!

Excellent place to base yourself in Cape Town, although the guesthouse is situated at the top of a fairly steep hill so I would advise organising a rental car prior to arriving (taxis can be called to pick you up though) ... walking is possible but quite tiring, and Fresnaye isn't really near downtown Cape Town so you will inevitably get taxis.
