Excellent hotel right in the middle of Baden Baden. Beautiful location. Old world comfort with just the right updates. Great staff.

Good location

This is a beautuful historic hotel but it needs more tenderloving care to get it back to where it should be - a 4 star European hitel. Our experience was a challenge at first - no bellhops for luggage, wrong room w/o balcony, new room with broken AC unit, then finally a great room with a terrace over looking the park. But that was a bit much after a 2 hour drive from the Black Forest and the challenge of Baden-Baden's one- way streets. Basics were a challenge - toilet paper threatened to run out, no bathrobes availble, no whisky in the bar, kitchen closed for dinner on Sunday and Monday. And the parking was not on location and very expensive - 50€/night. The new manager was helpful in fixing what he could and has promised to make changes to bring this grand old dame of a hotel back up to where she used to be!

Hotel is living on its former glory. It is somewhat run-down, although generally clean (E.g. we found old stains on the curtains in our room, as well as on the carpet). Parking is far away from the hotel, and the hotel recommends parking that is significantly more expensive than what is actually available closer to the hotel (it doesn't make any sense). If you stay there go to the kongresshaus parking garage, which saves you at least 5 EUR a day (and a lot more for consecutive days). Reception was mostly disinterested and the friendliest person was for sure the cleaner. Room was large enough and had good storage. The beds were twin instead of double. The TV was maybe 20" from 2005 (really strange). However, the location is really good if you want to walk around baden-baden and the center of the city in general. Also, the little stream outside provided a soothing atmosphere :)

This hotel is a beautiful old world feel with very helpful staff. I really enjoyed my stay, and the location is perfect.

Superb location and plenty warm in the winter. Otherwise interior was dated and smoking area downstairs permeated the building.

Service was not very good and not able to put food from their own restaurant onto the room bill (and they kept trying to insist on cash payments) parking facilities not very adequate. Some of the staff were quite rude.

The location is great, right along the canal, close to the casino, parks, shops, restaurants. The staff was very friendly. And our room had its own private balcony.

A beautiful old fashioned hotel, so much charm and warmth. The location is amazing, infact you cannot get a more central location, right in the middle of the Old Town. We had a room with balcony with a Park View, fully recommended, we lay there with the window open listening to the sound of the water running through the lane outside the hotel, absolutely beautiful and would defintiely stay here again

One of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in. Very quiet, overlooking a peaceful river. The staff were extremely helpful. The breakfast is good – partially buffet, partially ordered custom to the table. Was great for a solo stay. WiFi was good for working from the hotel. In a great location. This is one of those properties that was probably once an amazing stay. The location on the park is unreal. Super convenient to walk everywhere from there. However the upkeep is way lacking. Old. Outdated. Falling apart. No parking on site. Our room had an ac unit but no remote. It didn’t look like it had worked for a while. Therefore we had to open our window and door for air. Flies and bugs were all in our room. Not to mention smoke from the room next door who was using their patio for a smoking party late late at night. Bed was uncomfortable. New mattresses would be ideal. Check-in was a joke. It was if they didn’t know how to use a computer or it was down. The woman asked us FIVE times what day we were checking out. And even how much we had paid for the room. Does Expedia send this info? There was also no masks being used by many of the staff and especially servers. One young man was a shining example and has his face covered every time we saw him. Others not at all, or not even covering their nose. The front desk woman basically said no one is checking the rules so they don’t necessarily follow them. We were flabbergasted. Luckily we brought our own sanitizers. Loved Baden-Baden and were not in the room as much due to the bugs. But will be back to this amazing city. Just not at this property at this price level. It’s a 3 star property at best. There are better hotels at this price point nearby. With valet or parking options. Hauling your bags from blocks away is not fun.

Good location. Common areas warm and welcoming. Room was not ready 30 mins before check-in time, fair enough. When I did get into the room it hadn't been cleaned at all. Dirty with rubbish from previous user. Also wifi was almost unusable. I expect more from a hotel in this class.

Best place to be in Baden-Baden!?!

Terrible booking . I had paid for a superior double room . And when I got to the room I realized that the room was a single room that they added a small bed . (Photo)When I went to the reception to complain they said that they are overbooked because some other customers extended their stay without warning them . They said the same to our friends who were traveling with us . Layers and thief’s my opinion is that we had a late arrival and they gave our rooms to others and they tried to foul us . They only think that they did is that the refunded 30 euros . I am very disappointed and from the hotel and from the hotels.com

I did not see any one of the steps and reception smiling or saying hi to me or to any customer

Our stay was excellent and we only wish we could have stayed longer.

No a/c. Safe box not working. Bathroom’s water unbalanced (too hot or too cold). Breakfast was average, but there’s always flies and bees and bugs around the food. Beds were uncomfortable. Pillows were not stuffed sufficiently. Over priced. However, the decorations were pretty good.

This place could and should be fantastic, but isn't. The current management team does not really know how to run a hotel.

Super hotels with all services and wonderful breakfast in the middle of all - only small complaint - it was very warm and no AirCondition ;-) Can only recommend this to all.

The ONLY hotel I ever stay at in Baden-Baden!!!! Consistently perfect every trip....and you can’t beat the beautiful location.

This hotel has a charm that you come upu don't want to go back the view is fantastic the staffs kind and am sorry but this is a city and hotel like no other place in Germany .. You will feel at peace. .and at home ...

Smoking in the hotel lounge was permitted which permeated the entire hotel and the rooms. Smoke in the first room upon check in which was changed upon complaint. No adjustment to costs were made. Towels and pillows were in a shocking condition. Breakfast included in the stay was a poor quality of old produce and badly prepared eggs. The location is the main benefit of this property.

the rooms are nicely furnished. Pick one with a balcony, facing the park : the view is great. Breakfast is very good and the Restaurant delicious. the only downside in the internet connection, which kept falling and was being very weak for all our stay. disappointing in such a classy hotel.

Hotel you feel like home but can forget work immediately if you want. Takes you away in a comfortable surrounding. Good old times without missing the modern features like Wifi or comfortable bath room. Charming with modern comfort. Highly like this mixture.

Very nice hotel in central location. No a/c was only downer because we came when it was very warm. We had a new receptionist who was not familiar with answers when asked but made every effort to try or get someone who could.
