Centrally located hotel. Nice spacious room. Nice breakfast provided in morning. The restaurant is also open in the evening and the food was excellent. Lots of restaurants and shopping in the area.

Hotel was amazing. Perfect location and the area is amazing. Hotel staff were helpful. Wish we could have spent more time in Bern.

Spacious room, comfortable bed, nice terrace. Weirdly translucent bathroom walls. Great location in the old town but still quiet at night. Get to the breakfast long before it closes because they run out of stuff.

Aweful smell of cigarette smoke even when window was closed. Breakfast was average. It has been overrated in certain travel guide.

The hotel is a charm and convenient!

Overall a very nice property ideally located in city center of Bern. Would have given a 5 star had we been informed that the room we rented was a top floor room with a very low sloping ceiling above the bed which meant you had to bend over and duck to avoid hitting your head. Hard to remember when getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Sorry for the detail but thought you might want to know.

Hotel was clean, it was right downtown and walkable everywhere. Good breakfast and great staff.

Nicely situated in an old part of Bern. My room was modest, but nice. Beautiful view of courtyard from window. Very nice and helpful staff.

Hotel needs some upgrades. It is a bit outdated. Also, The blankets are so thick and heavy that it is impossible to sleep under them. Breakfast was below average and service there was very poor.

The hotel is at the heart of old town Bern. It’s convenient to walk to everywhere. Our room is a beautiful large room with a really vintage balcony. You get a great view of the old town buildings with red roof tiles, it was like right out of fairytale. Breakfast was included which was really convenient. The selection was not huge but sufficient. Despite our room being huge, the bathroom was small, and a makeshift glass divided room. It does not have real walls. I enjoyed my stay here, loved the balcony view, and had a good time in Bern.

Located in the center, ease access to public transportation, breakfast included and yummy, complemental tickets to public transportation, very nice staff. I highly recommended

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Goldener Schlüssel hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was perfect for wandering around the old city of Bern and our room was comfortable and spacious, it even had a balcony that overlooked the nearby streets. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Small rooms but clean and comfortable in the heart of Bern. Unfortunately, we were there on a day the restaurant closes so we were not able to dine with. Breakfast was good.

Very nicy staff and clean and quite room

It was a nice surprise with the place . It was so close to the Einstein house and other places to walk or take Tram. Even to train station it was easy by Tram. Hotel was nice, staff was very good. Breakfast was good with lot of options. Loved walking the streets and it was very safe even at night. Room was big enough for our family . Restroom was remodeled looks like but they forgot to put locks and should add more privacy to the bathroom . Would definitely visit again.

Initial room given to us was 32C, while outside it was only 23C. Curtains in the room were dishevelled and partly off the rod. The toilet was literally arms length from the side of the bed. We asked to change rooms because of the stifling heat. The duty manager was able to move us into a slightly cooler room and provided a fan. Breakfast was quite good though. All up disappointing for the price. I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel is well located within easy walking distance from the station and with lots of local restaurants and shops around it. The area is very popular with young people which makes it pretty noisy until around 1am. Breakfast was great. My only complaint is that the TV could not pick up English speaking channels and no-one at the hotel could fix it (so they gave me a slightly reduced rate). Otherwise it was a great place to stay.

We stayed one night and really enjoyed the location. The hotel is in the middle of town on a street with many restaurants and shops (walking only street although cars can drop off passengers and bags). We really enjoyed walking through the city. Parking was very convenient a block away in a very large (and empty) parking garage with a discounted rate through the hotel. The room was large but bathroom was tight (it was a pod that had been added to the room). Since the hotel (and city) is on the older side, there was no air-conditioning. We used the fans provided in the room, which worked well as we were on the second floor. The only issue was that it is a very busy street with restaurants that are open late so we had to close the window both late at night and in the early mornings (many deliveries). The breakfast was in the restaurant on the first floor and was good. Overall we had a great stay and would considering staying again.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.The location is perfect for central Bern and very close to trams and busses. The only down side was that the room was just above a sidewalk cafe. A party went on until 4.a.m. We had to close the windows because of the noise and smoke. Closing the windows made us uncomfortable with the summer heat as there were only fans and no air conditioner. I suggest you ask for a room that does not open to the street in summer times. Otherwise it was a perfect place to stay.

Almost everything good or very good but the additional bed was terrible uncomfortable. With this price is not normal. Bed very old and broken.

The place is in the downtown. Near to everything - Train station, Tourist attractions etc. staff is very accommodating and friendly. Overall enjoyed my stay here with family.

Best location in the center of bern

I love how it is in walking distance to train station and is in the heart of history and the town. The staff was so kind and helpful. They even stayed open late for us. I think it is cool to say in oldest hotel in Bern, built in the 1500s I believe they said. You would never know it when you are in your room. Rooms are large, spacious, and modern. I loved how all 4 of us got our own bed in the room. If you stay on a weekend, be prepared to enjoy the night life or at least the sounds. Several restaurants are located on the street. Seems like the fun and popular place to be.

This hotel is well located in the old town of Bern. Unfortunately, that came at the expense of our ability to sleep, due to street noise!
