Everything is great. Room is nice and clean, the bath inside the room is really nice. I tried the paid private hot spring and the room is great. The dinner and breakfast are good too.

It was clean and spacious, the staff was very professional and helpful.

I can’t write enough great things about Pax Yoshino. This was my first time staying at a Ryokan and it did not dissapoint. The stay exceeded my expectations. The hotel is pristine and the rooms were immaculate. The inane on the top floor were absolutely beautiful. The staff was so very nice and spoke English. The Keiseki dinner was my absolute favorite. Authentic Japanese food cooked right at your table. My only disappointment was that I could not stay longer. 10/10.

This hotel is too old, smell is bad, time to upgrade!

Nice hotel which gives Japanese style rooms. The staff at check-in were very helpful and allowed us to leave our bags with them when we arrived in the morning while our room was made ready (at 3pm).
Breakfast provided a good selection with mostly Japanese food.
The hotel has a 10-15 minute walk to the local train station. Pleasant surroundings with a river (with lots of wildlife) running alongside the road up to the hotel.

The accommodation or the hotel is already very old. When we entered the hotel, it smelled very musty and moldy. That's why we don't recommend the hotel.

It was a magnificent trip to Hakone and this hotel is just a perfect addition!!!
Dinner and breakfast were tasty)
And the main thing that hot spring/spa area was clean and there weren’t so much people as I expected)))

Everything was great. Smoking room had slight cigarette smell but it is OK. Only thing is the seating at dinner is sometimes less than ideal if you don't get a window seat. You can ask and they will move you!

We choose to stay in a Japanese style room and the mattress was not super comfortable. The hallway had a terrible smell and stained carpets. The room had the smell of the mats which I didn’t really care for. That being said the breakfast and dinner was excellent.

Nice, large Japanese style rooms right on the river. Excellent breakfast, buffet with lots of options for everyone. Easily walkable into town with lots of dining options there, as long as you get there early. (A few are open later). Ping pong table as well; and karaoke rooms (for a fee). We rented the private onsen for an hour for our family, since the kids were shy about using the public ones.

Our stay was flawless; the food was excellent; and the baths, spot-on! ‘will definitely stay again. Highly recommended.

I expected more Japanese traditional ryokan, but it was not like that. It was more like a typical hotel with Yukata and Spa. Breakfast was great. The dinner option was okay, but as not as good as breakfast.
4.0
Amazing place, great experience, very relaxing, check the hotel website to get all the details. Private onsen can only be booked in person for same day use.

So pleased we stayed here, we loved the entire experience. Our kids (ages 10 & 8) were super excited to sleep on the futons and we enjoyed an hour in a private onsen. Highly recommend staying here, you won’t regret the experience. Service was wonderful as we have found it to be across Japan.

Great service, property is kept in great shape and food is excellent

The place is quite nicely situated along a forested hill by a mountainside river, with a scenic stroll through a nice little town to get there.
It was a peaceful stay, with a marble bath stay for one hour, followed by an exciting nine course dinner with many exotic entries. Tip for the bath; If you can, try to ask them if they can set it to lower than the 42 celcius we got. That was scorching.
I went there with a friend and found it maybe a bit too peaceful. The little town closed up quite early, and there was no bar at the hotel.
Luckily there was a vending machine with beers though.
Very good spot for the peace-seeking, but loses a few marks for those who grab a late snack and beers.

Definitely visit again

I've stayed there for 2 nights.Room is very large , clean and cosy. Onsen is great. I thought it's a bit far from the JR station, but it's not and actually, not hard to reach.
Comparing all aspects (and comparing with all the onsen hotel I've stayed so far), the dinner of this hotel was not bad but just average.

Nice accommodations and hot springs

A clean hotel with friendly , helpful staff. Need to book dinner in advance before the trip else will be fully booked and all shops at Hakone close by 6pm hence can only get food from convenient store. Shutter bus in the morning usually full thus May have to go to the main station by foot.

Excellent stay, food was good, staff was amazing.

I assumed the hotel restaurant best to prebook early with accommodation. Caused we want to book for next day dinner upon arrived but was told fully booked, and there is no other menus for in-room service (dining).
Alsohotel dont provide iron and iron board for us to iron our cloths.

Nice onsen and several course dinner. Property is dated but maybe that’s typical for a ryoken. Checkin was easy.

Hotel exterior and interior appear to be updated compared to other properties nearby, glad I booked here. The room I stayed in was Japanese tatame floor style, view of river, roomy area compared to other similar ryokan-style properties. The most memorable feature was the breakfast, the food was great with Western and Japanese cuisine available. The staff from restaurant, cleaning and reception were great as expected. The hot springs (onsen) was clean and as pictured, they interchange to men/women baths during the day which is great, you can experience all baths if staying longer. The only thing but not concerning about the property, the area is very quiet and boring, nothing to do after 8pm. I would come back here again, thanks for your business!

Fantastic service and amenities, location. Definitely recommend the dinner package
1.5
Very bad experience with hot spring. You cannot relax in the onsen because there are too many people that speak loudly, people singing when are washing his body and too many kids that use onsen like swimming pool spray water to the other guest. I will not back to this hotel and surely for the future I will choose "adult only" onsen.

Hotel itself was clean and nice. Big rooms are so comfortable.

Close to the train station - 5 min by taxi. Shuttle also provided for certain hours which is good. Staff was friendly and provided prompt service. Reception area is really nice and open.
Liked the Ryokan setup. Glad five of us could stay in one room. Great view of a wooded area with river in the back.
However, though we were asked what time our beds needed to be made and we gave the time, the beds were not ready and we had to call someone.
Also, toilet did not have a fan which made it kind of stuffy.

Nice location on the river but a long ride to the lake and activities. It's due for an update on the interior. We didn't appreciate a 10:00 a.m. check out and an upcharge if you wanted to stay later.

Ryokan style stay was amazing. My family loved that experience. We availed public onsen and massage in the hotel. Would like to visit again.

Superb onsen facility and clean. Good breakfast too!
1.0
We would not recommend this hotel. The pictures on the website are not at all accurate. It is a very basic hotel, with neither a cafe nor any place where you could order a drink or food. The onsen, which is a highlight of Hakone, was very basic and not worth a visit. Lastly, the hotel is quite a hike from the station and the shuttle service runs infrequently. Take a pass on this one.
