Beautiful hotel. Great service

We were in “The Blue Room”. There is only air conditioning in the bedroom. For warmer days this makes using the other rooms (sitting area, bathroom, shower) unbearable. The shower didn’t have a spot to set your soap, shampoo, etc.
Other than that, it was perfect. We loved the historic building and the staff who assisted us, Valentina and Yvonna (sp?) were incredibly nice and helpful. Great location for visiting all the fun things to do and see in Montepulciano.

The bigger pricier rooms are lovely. However, the small room across from reception is dreadful. You have to go up a flight of 7 brick stairs to get to the bath, which is a woefully inadequate shower. The hair dryer is affixed to the wall where there’s no mirror. The staff is lovely, but part of the time no one seems to be about.

A wonderful experience all around! We loved our stay from the moment we arrived. Valentina welcomed us warmly and made us a reservation at an incredible local restaurant. Our room (suite) felt like stepping back in time, furnished with antiques and full of charm. Very clean and comfortable. We were served a delicious breakfast with all kinds of yummy choices and heavenly coffee.

Quite perfect, with enormous living room space, and centrally located. The breakfast is particularly unique and thoughtful.

A Hotel that charges 350 Euros per day and has no AC it is a scam, we had to leave the hotel after the first night, the temperature inside our room was unbearable to sleep, they do not have structure for breakfast as well. Stay away from this trap.

This room was absolutely incredible - it really felt like a step into the past and was beautifully presented! Only mild complaint was the lack of air conditioning, but naturally the age of the room will mean this is not an easy ask. They kindly provided two fans to help with the heat! We loved our stay here and would definitely return!

A really special place . Ludovico and Francesca were wonderfully welcoming and helpful . The suite was palatial . The location fantastic . Breakfast was delicious and customer service excellent. Thank you for a beautiful stay and I would highly recommend this place . We stayed for 3 nights as part of a motorbike tour of Italy and Ludovico was especially helpful with parking and communication. Loved it !

This bed and breakfast is located at the heart of Montepulciano. The breakfast was really good, the staff very friendly. It has a great bathroom with a very hot shower, and clean sheets and towels. The place is an old construction that keeps the decoration from the 1800s. It gives you the feeling of going back to the XVIII century, right in the middle of a medieval city. If you are looking for a modern stay, this is not your place, but if you like a rustic feeling, this place would be a gift. An experience to getting fully immersed into the ancient culture of Montepulciano. The only downside for us was the fact that, even being a no smoking premise, the old wallpaper kept the smell of cigarettes from probably years of exposure.

The hotel is so unique and beautiful. You feel like you are staying as a guest in some one’s palazzo rather than a hotel. The view from our room was gorgeous. And the breakfast- a delight. A wonderful stay!

The location of the property is fantastic, right off the main square, ideal for exploring the town. Staff and cleanliness was excellent. The breakfast provided was really nice. Could do with air conditioning but it was particularly hot when we visited

There is no substitute for good hospitality. While finding the actual building was a bit of a chore, the comfort far exceeded expectations.

The hotel was amazing and our room was so spacious it was like being home. Where many piazzas are loud til all hours of the night this was so quiet after about 10:00 so sleeping with windows open was very pleasant. All the staff were warm and welcoming they treated us like family. We loved our stay 100%. The only caution I would express is there is no elevator and the stairs can be quite steep but Natalia and Tanjean (sorry for the spelling) helped with the luggage so it was not a problem for us. Thank you ladies you were wonderful.

An absolute pleasure. The rooms were more beautiful and grand than the pictures. The view from the breakfast room divine. Our room overlooked the main square - and exceeded our expectations.
There is a lovely breeze and oscillating fans provided for air movement, however as a historic building there is not central air conditioning.

Such a beautiful hotel with the most unique features and is in the perfect location. Breakfast was lovely as well. Felt very looked after from start to finish! 10 out of 10... can’t wait to come back :-)

Located right at the central square of Montepulciano, this castle-like rustic hotel was the perfect spot from which to explore the town and the surrounding countryside. The manager was a very friendly woman who helped us to plan visits to vineyards, find nice bars with sunset views and more. It feels just like staying in an old Tuscan villa if that's what your after.
The rooms are not of the sterile hotel variety but rather like comfy apartments, although perfectly clean. We had a big room with an extra bedroom and stunning views of the rolling hills outside the city. The shower had great water pressure.
Breakfast was excellent as a vegetarian, with many choices of cheese and fruit.

The hotel is actually a B&B limited to 4 guests, situated in a historic and stately home. The experience was quite like a hotel however since room was very private (and quiet) with ensuite bath. Contact with owner was only in passing and with other guests only at breakfast. The furnishings were good quality antiques and the view from the valley-side rooms is quite spectacular (one guest mentioned party noise from the piazza side during the night).
Breakfast was good and included eggs, bacon, breads cereals with a wide assortment of fruits and sweet pastries including may new favourite a pistachio filled croissant. Staff were there to prepare coffee in any manner desired. The owner Romana, was present but not intrusive and check-in and out were easy. The building has quite a good secure entry and exit system.
The site is right on the main piazza where the main attractions of Montepuliciano are located. A highly rated home style Italian restaurant and some decent wine bars are located metres down the street. If you are into wine the local Nobile is excellent but be careful to distinguish it from the younger and less good Rossi.
Overall... site and experience were wonderful!

Palazzo Nobile di San Donato offers fantastic accommodations in a storybook setting. The palazzo is located on a quiet piazza in lovely Montepulciano. Our suite was clean, comfortable, and absolutely beautiful! Our hostess was gracious, helpful, and made sure our needs were met. Montepulciano has fantastic restaurants and several small shops. The people here are friendly and warm. We used this B&B as a home base to explore other Tuscan towns.
Breakfast each morning was delicious. We always chose a table next to a window which overlooked the Tuscan countryside. It was like looking at a painting!

The only bad thing I can say about this hotel is that you have to carry your bags up stairs because there is no elevator.

Our experience at Palazzo Nobile di Santa Donato exceeded our expectations. The photos show how lovely the inn is, but they cannot capture the warmth and the history of the Palazzo. Staying there felt as if we were on the inside of a piece of art. A delicious, generous breakfast was served in a beautiful room overlooking the Tuscan hillsThe hostess was gracious and willing to provide us with information and her time.We would highly recommend this place for anyone ... and we cant wait to return!

The property is a journey into history. Staying in a spacious Palazzo that is centuries old and impressively preserved is quite a treat. Romana the innkeeper was very accommodating and we highly recommend the authentic experience overlooking the main square.
