Lovely hotel, friendly staff, great food and great location. Room service was a slightly lapse for a four star hotel (teabags not replaced, used glass left untouched) but nothing major and would stay at this hotel again.

I’ve been staying at this hotel for about seven or eight years and we use it regularly. This state was by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. It took about 40 minutes to get somebody to answer the phone for room service air-conditioning room wouldn’t work properly and I was absolutely freezing, and then when I arrived in the evening on the Saturday, my room card wouldn’t work. When arriving back to reception to ask them if they could resolve it I was told I would have to wait as there wasn’t enough staff after 15 minutes of waiting I asked again if somebody could help me and with a half the receptionist went and got somebody else for me.
The room I was staying in had a dripping sound from the room above that would randomly just tap tap tap on the ceiling all night on the first night I slept with earplugs to block out the sound.
On Friday upon taking 40 minutes to get in contact with room service they then sent a menu up to my room because there wasn’t one in there then once they bought me the menu after over an hour and a half of waiting I was told I couldn’t order room service anyway because they hadn’t asked me to charge a card to my room The guy who came to see me and I was still talking to him. He just walked off up the corridor. This is not the sort of thing I expect from what is meant to be a 4 to 5 star hotel I will not be staying here again, and I won’t be bringing my friends or telling anybody else to stay here anymore it’s gone seriously downhill .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Clayton Hotel. The staff were very helpful and the room was one of the nicest we’ve stayed in. Food was great too, we ate in the restaurant on the Friday evening.

The staff all were excellent and really accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was excellent having a wide range of cold and hot food. The location was good being close to the station and the botanic gardens and not too far from the centre.

This hotel was amazing! It was in a great location right by the train station. Our room wasn’t ready when we got there but the hotel was able to hold our luggage and we had some drinks at the restaurant. The room was very clean and very spacious.

Like the lobby staff, always wear big smiles and keen to help. Super close to railway central station and bus stops. Around 20 mins of walk between hotel and city center / major Cambridge colleges but lots of good restaurants like Golpo, Northern China Dunpling along the way. Rooms are retro style and spacious

Overall was good, really enjoyed our stay. Biggest downside was parking, shower took some time to warm up however the food was good, staff were friendly and we really liked that our room was cleaned when we went out early in the day!

When first arriving at the hotel it was amazing - I had booked the executive king room with balcony. The room looked amazing visually however there was a few things that let me down, there was a brown/red stain on the carpet, surfaces was slightly grimey, cigarette butts on the floor of balcony. Not the kind of cleanliness I expected given the calibre of hotel I was staying in, in the morning I ordered breakfast via room service and when it arrived I was Beyond shocked when it was stone cold and swimming in liquid on the plate I think a full English breakfast shouldn’t be that hard to arrive 1. Cooked properly and 2. Warm on arrival. All in all was a big let down as I came away for a break from day to day life thought I was treating myself but left feeling a bit let down. I then tried to give feedback to the hotel and was told the manager would phone me and it’s been three days and still no word - as a hotel customer service should be number one priority and I just feel like it wasn’t on this occasion.

The Hotel was lovely and tidy in a convenient location. We could walk to town for food and shopping The hotel staff were always there should you need any help, the room was spacious and very clean. There is nothing I did not like about this hotel.

I could not have faulted my stay, the staff were all so friendly and helpful, my room was always cleaned to perfection and had everything I needed. From the lovely smelling soap to the selection of tea bags, the refills of water bottles in the fridge and the comfiest bed I have ever slept in, would definitely recommend and if I am ever back in Cambridge, I will definitely be coming back here. It was so central and handy to the train station as well.

We had a very pleasant stay, excellent room, very comfortable and clean. All contact/requests to receptionist was dealt with promptly and efficiently. Good location too close to the station. Would definitely go back here. We didn't eat breakfast though as we thought it was quite expensive.

Excellent hotel, right by the railway station.
Took about 20 mins to walk to city centre but there are plenty of buses around.
Breakfast was good.
Room was a double, wet spacious and huge bed was very comfortable. Will definitely return when we next visit this beautiful city

First stay at this hotel and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Stayed with my daughter in a deluxe twin room, it was lovely, incredibly clean, the beds were so comfortable and luxurious. The staff couldn’t have been more polite and helpful, the recaption staff, the waiters, the cleaners, the bar staff, all so pleasant. The buffet breakfast was delicious too. I cannot fault anything and will definitely stay again on my next visit to Cambridge.

Breakfast was disappointing as it was very basic Continental breakfast, comparable to the one at the nearby Ibis. Rooms are fantastic however and location is lovely.

The property has a stylish decor. It is newly renovated so everything seems fresh. Their staff is attentive and friendly. Beds are very comfortable. I love their selection of tea and cookies inside the room. I’d definitely come back to Clayton, the chain hotels.

Checking was slow and breakfast 4 prices barman gave me price receptionists gave me different prices and yesterday check in different price I was pist off I gave her the keys takecare I went to the bar I slept alone for £207 I said I need one latte and croissant I said I’m Muslim I don’t eat pork sausage he said take the menu yesterday night good service in the bar my girlfriend had two gin tonic I had Diet Coke was good but morning I.can’t have one latte I went to Caffè Nero

This property was very nice. It’s very modern extremely close to the train station and buses. The other need for me was cold AC and it exceeded that expectation. I also had dinner at the restaurant and breakfast every morning and once again it exceeded my expectation. Overall I had a wonderful experience at this hotel and would recommend. It is farther from City center. That would be the only drawback, but it wasn’t too difficult to grab a bus or Uber.

This hotel is stunning, with very high standards of decor and cleanliness and opposite the station.
The beds and pillows were like fluffy clouds, which was perfect for our 2 night stay.
The staff were all a credit to the Hotel, although we did feel that there should have been an extra member of staff on Reception at all times, as often there was no-one there to take calls as the Receptionist was so busy with checking in/out and dealing with other issues and a couple of times there was no answer when we phoned Reception from our room. This is an extremely busy Reception hotel and too much going on, to have just one person behind the desk.
We also dined in the Hotel Restaurant where we had a 3 course meal, the food was exquisite, especially the Crispy belly of Pork.
All the lovely shops, restaurants and punting on the River Cam were a leisurely longish walk away.
I would highly recommend a stay at the Clayton as I cannot fault it in any way.

1 night stay with the family. The staff are very friendly and the hotel looks very new, so it's in good condition. The only gripe I had was the carpet in our room had a stain, looked like red wine. Breakfast selection was plentiful

Very handy for the station -- which is a mile or so from the heart of town -- and yet still nice and quiet. This is a fairly new hotel with nicely appointed and (by UK standards) spacious rooms.
