Era un antiguo claustro franciscano muy bonito
La habitación daba a una calle muy ruidosa

Location was great
There’s not elevator and the staff doesn’t care in taking your luggage to the rooms. That’s really bad service.

The staff are the best. They go out of their way to do everything they can to make life comfortable for you.

Gute Lage, sauber, tolles Personal

The staff at the hotel were the best! Especially Hernán. He really helped us and was a great guy!
The beds were comfortable. The pillows were not. And there were two few pillows. The bathroom was just adequate. But the water pressure and hot water were excellent. The breakfast buffet could have been better. The location was excellent and the building was very cool.
3.5
Situación, personal, edificio rehabilitado
Habitación sin ventana, hueco grande en pavés, pero sin ventilación.
Las camas muy ruidosas.

The staff is really really nice and attends to every need. I felt very welcomed.
The wifi didn’t work unfortunately.
It is pretty loud during the day as the room was directly to the main street (which I did not mind at all) but to keep in mind for people who are sensitive to loud noises.

Good location, breakfast, wifi, part of the staff
Rooms need fresh painting

Very well located - walking distance to Plaza San Francisco, Witches Market, restaurants, etc. Good comfort and special thanks to Jose and the staff for their kindness and help throughout our stay. We would definitely come back !

The room ( and bed) was comfortable. Not too large but had sufficient space to store clothes with large wardrobes and drawers, both bedside and stand alone. The room had a radiator which gave gentle warmth but did not overpower the temperature. The bathroom and shower were fine. Hot water was always available. The room was quiet and little or no traffic noise was audible. It was a very short walk to Plaza Murillo (albeit uphill) and a short walk to the Prado where the main carnival parades took place. A good spot for the impromptu markets in Calle Comercial too. Anywhere else in La Paz really required a taxi but availablity was good.
We had to negotiate stairs to the second floor. OK doesn't sound much but Bolivian hotels have never heard of lifts and have also never heard of uniform stair sizes. In truth, after a long day walking in La Paz it was not welcome to have to climb some 30+ steps to get to our room.
Breakfast was promising for the first two days (Friday and Saturday) where we were offered an omelette and a fruit salad but then we had to make do with the remnants of a scrambled egg tray and a do-it-yourself fruit salad. There was toast and ham and cheese but only strawberry flavoured yoghurt (no natural). The coffee was 'destillado' and appalling - the hot water urn was generally tepid rather than hot. Plenty of herbal tea bags if that was your thing. Some fresh fruit was available to take away.

The building was as beautiful as the pictures! We stayed in several hotels across La Paz and 2 different rooms at this hotel during our time. This hotel was the first to have consistent hot water. The staff were genuinely very helpful and spoke fluent English making it easy for us. Small details such as scattering rose petals and beautifully folded towels to help us celebrate our honeymoon, and preparing take away breakfast boxes for our early departures for tours were the things that made our stay so lovely! Thank you.
I’m being fussy considering the building is one of the oldest in La Paz: While the shower water temperature was good, in one of the rooms we stayed the shower head was just a single beam of high pressure water. When flushing the toilet in this room it also made some high pitch noises which lasted several minutes after flushing while the water filled back up.

It's very big room and clean. 24h reception has been helpful
bathroom was very small.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. They were accommodating, friendly and spoke English well. Breakfasts were copious and tasty. The food was so good we often ate dinner there too and were able to charge it to our room. We especially liked their "detox" juices and salads. One staff member helped us get a taxi in the city and to arrange a late night taxi service to the airport (that was half as expensive as those you could reserve on-line). This is a 400-year old colonial style building that has lots of character and beauty. It's also close to shopping and restaurants.
No elevator to the 2nd (third) floor which, with not being acclimated to the almost 12,000 foot altitude of the city, was physically taxing, especially when hauling luggage up the steps late at night. Some roof leakage in bathroom when we had a sustained and heavy rainfall at night.

Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms with very a pretty courtyard and authentic style throughout. And with great value!

The room was lovely, no windows. Stayed 3 nights, asked for 3rd bottle of water on third night and they tried to charge me for it. Also dined in one night, food was very good but was short changed on wine ( when asking for a second glass, the waiter brought the bottle over and topped up the third of a glass I had left to a half glass and then invoiced for two glasses of wine. Otherwise, nice staff, good breakfast and location.

The service was very good, staff speaks English and was friendly and helped us with everything. They offered cocatea when we had a mountain sickness and when we had an early check out they boxed our breakfast to go. Breakfast was good: they had local bread (amazing!!), toast, ham, cheese, coffee, tea and the cheff will make you eggs however you like them and they will also make you a fruit salad if you want. Rooms were good size and clean. Location is as good as it gets, you can walk to all the main attractions including teleferico stops. The hotel is in safe area and they lock the door for the night, they have a doorbell so you will get in at any time. They accept credit card. We do recommend this hotel
A bit cold. They have a restaurant, we only ate here once and unfortunately the pastas were not good. Prices are very good and maybe the other dishes are better! The suite is not worth the money, book a regular room.

Amazing staff, will do everything to help you and make your stay more confortable. Breakfast and even dinner were good, WiFi very stable and our room, the King suite, was large, confortable, well designed,as the rest of the hotel. We would stay here again!

This is an extraordinary property. The building is maintained and decorated with an unusual eye for beauty and comfort. Perfectly clean and quiet. There is an excellent restaurant in the lobby. Avelino is an attentive host who speaks excellent English and knows everything. We will gladly return here.

Room was huge. Building had a lot of character.
Shower could have been better as no shower screen so water went all over the bathroom.
4.5
The building itself is a beautiful old convent, amazingly peaceful when compared to the bustle of the surrounding city centre. The room was warm and clean with a great hot shower. The staff very helpful. They also gave us a breakfast box the last morning when we needed to leave early. Very nice breakfast and we also ended up eating at the restaurant every night because the food was so good and at such a reasonable price. The position is very central, a walk away from some of the museums and main squares. Highly recommended!
Just be aware that some of the bedrooms don’t have windows. But it wasn’t really a problem. the rooms are quite spacious and it doesn’t feel claustrophobic or stale. and it’s inevitable given the structure of the historic building.
