Private beach

Very old, not well maintained, no improvements done in the recent years. Service is not that good. Wifi is horrible.

Beds were comfy Room temp perfect

Smells were bad. They need to consider getting rid of the carpet. Had to put towels in the kitchenette sink due to oder that literally smelled like someone took a dump in the sink. Tub would hold large amount of water after showers, took awhile to drain. Pool area was good. They had a private beach area but you had to pay for a lounge chair. Toiletries were small and only for one person when we were 2 people. Sure you could ask for more but they should have taken in consideration it was a 2 person reservation. If you smoke weed which we do not you could get past the smell in the hallways. If you want just a place to sleep and don’t care about all that was mentioned then this place is for you. Oh, pictures can be deceiving.

All it is priced right. If you know the area and know of better places on the beach to get a real on the beach experience than book it. You will not spend much time in the room, other than sleeping.

This is the 5th year in a row I have gone to this hotel. It's small and peaceful, nice pool and quiet little beach..BUT I've seen some of things falling apart..Our hairdryer didn't work, the floor in the bathroom was filthy, between the bathroom and hallway was black. The outside deck is nice except it was filthy. I do like this hotel and will be back, just wish they paid more attention..And their side doors are broken so anyone can walk in

Great pool and outdoor hot tub. The sunset was beautiful. Our check in person was as hateful as she could be. I was taken aback when she said they required a $ 200 hold on damage i thought it was excessive she snapped back that they have too many drunks. I am in my late 70’s . Not much chance of that . The hotel was rundown there wasn’t any thing in the room worth that. The carpet was nasty looking the furniture in the room was old and not in good repair and bathroom needed an upgrade. The desk has a sign we do not have maid service if you want clean towels you have to bring them to the desk turn them in to get fresh, if you want to empty your trash you set it outside the door. There was an envelope in the room demanding a tip for cleaning the room before you got there. Girl wasn’t it your job? Not only does the hotel need to be refurbished management needs to learn about giving service

For just staying the night it’s okay.

We was a little uneasy to stay with reading some negative reviews. But WOW glad that didn’t turn us away we absolutely loved our stay. The view was beautiful live entertainment at the hotel beside Gulfview everything about this hotels was an A and will definitely be returning to stay at Gulfview again in the near future. Thank you!!!

Older property looking very tired . If you book a partial sea view room and have children it is very noisy from the hotel next door (loud music every night ) until 11 pm so they could be kept awake .

Love that is in the beach but the property is older and not kept up

Wanted to give a positive review but unfortunately the only good thing about the property is the location. Honestly the building plumbing has got to be fixed, was moved to another room because couldn't finish a shower without a massive pooling of water. That next room, the sink was pooling every time in use. And those vintage cook tops have got to go. They looked like would smoke something if in use. But didn't expect much to start with.

Make sure you explain you want a room with a beach view balcony or you'll get a wall view of the next hotel over.

Friendly staff nice pool area hot tub with beach access

We stayed here wjen our Vrbo was flooded. The room is spacious. The property is outdated and the hotel smells like mildew. The staff was friendly and efficient though. Our stay was fine. It would have been great if the property was updated.

Beds are comfortable. There's a little kitchenettewhich is a nice plus. The pool is clean but was a bit crowded. I would stay here again

Great location and we loved the private beach, sadly there weren’t any chairs or umbrellas for the beach.

The property is old with no updates.rooms have odd smell and the smell of marijuana is everywhere. The Wi-Fi did not work at all in the hotel and our TV did not work properly. The door to our room was almost impossible to open and close It was stuck, and it definitely needed to be updated or fixed. I would not recommend

This hotel was probably great in the 70’s or early 80’s but it’s 2024. Rooms looked like something out of the 70’s no updates at all. Dirty carpet, tore up chairs, bathroom was terrible the bathtub faucet was completely hanging out, all the outlets were messed up and nothing stayed plugged in, old dirty curtain on sliding glass door. I was not happy at all. Probably needs torn down and built back up.

Beach view, watching boats travel thru inter coastal

I recently stayed at Gulfview, & unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the hotel had seen better days. The place felt rundown, with worn-out furniture & a general sense of neglect. The smell of mold was pervasive, making the stay uncomfortable, to say the least. One of the most alarming aspects were dehumidifiers in the hallways, which seemed like a desperate attempt to combat the moisture & mold issue. This not only added to the unpleasant atmosphere but also made me question the overall air quality in the building. The room was just basic quality. Modern USB power outlets are nowhere to be found. All rooms have a wall mount A/C. All of the rooms have mini two burner cooktop/kitchens however there is NO ventilation in the rooms to serve the cooktops. To make matters worse, there was a constant noise disturbance. Every night was like being in a nightclub with loud music blaring from the complex next-door (Shephards Beach Resort), it has dj’s & performers outdoors on multiple stages from dawn until 1-2am. If you’re looking for a restful night’s sleep, this is definitely not the place. Overall, I cannot recommend staying at Gulfview Hotel. The combination of poor maintenance, unpleasant odors, and excessive noise made for a very disappointing experience. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere for accommodation.

This place was filthy. For 200.00 dollars was got a dirty room. We couldn't even sleep and thought about just leaving. I would never recommend this filthy play and Expedia should take it off their listing's.

Wonderful location and facilities for the price.

The staff was great! Anything we asked for there was never a problem ( beach towels, extra key, etc). Please keep in mind this is a beach side hotel if you have children that will be wet and full of sand all day this is the place for you. If you want luxury and hassle you won't find it at Gulfview.
