Hotel’s location is really good. 15 min to collesseum, 7 min to trevi, 20 min to termini station by walking. Rooms are big enough and clean. Only negative thing in the room was the shower which was quite weak. Breakfast is rich enough for every kind of need. Freshly baked pasteries and eggs were delicious. Always diversified fresh fruits, cheese were present. They were Helpfull for good priced airport transfer.

This hotel could be so much better with just a few amendments.
Barry, the first room we checked into had really poor air-conditioning, but the room layout was good.
The second room we were moved to had amazing air-conditioning, but the room layout was not so good.
Breakfast is good. There is a good selection of different foods, something to suit everyone.

David at the Reception made the trip for our family! Genuinely kind man and our kids loved him!

Everything was amazing , location , food, room and the staff. Will go there again for sure.

David at the front desk was just lovely from day 1!! The hotel is very convenient and the breakfast included is great! I also like that they gave a complimentary pair of slippers. I would absolutely stay here again.

This was my first trip to Rome, and I really hit the vacation jackpot when I settled on the Hotel Castellino as my hq for a nine-day stay. It literally offered everything I look for when traveling abroad. The room was clean, air-conditioned, quiet, and even spacious by European standards. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was roomy and serviced by unlimited hot water, outlets were plentiful, and lighting fixtures were more than sufficient for every need. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful, maid service was impeccable, and the rate-included daily breakfast buffet was as extensive as it was delicious. (I never ate lunch during my entire trip.) But most import of all is the LOCATION! You are literally situated at the dead-center of the historic district. It's a five-minute walk to the Roman Forum, ten to the Colosseum (which is also the closest Metro stop)/Pantheon/Trevi Fountain, and no more than twenty to any other tourist destination in Rome. The immediate surroundings are busy and lively, but perfectly safe; a carabinieri station--Italy's national police--is right next door. You can easily walk your entire holiday, but if you do decide to use mass transit (the summer sun is blistering), major stops for the east-west and north-south bus lines are only a block or two from the hotel. Whenever I return to Rome--and I WILL return after as enjoyable a vacation as I just spent--I will definitely book my lodgings at the Hotel Castellino every time.

Convenience location. Safe was locked we requested several times to please unlock, it was never done . AC in the room was poor.
1.5
Great location, rooms are well sized too. But the AC in our room was not working properly at all, and despite letting them know twice, they weren’t able to fix it. I understand that Italy was very hot when we visited - but another room that we visited a friend in was perfectly cool. So that was a huge issue that they didn’t really solve for us over a 5 night stay.

We had a family suite, which included a bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bed, an additional small bedroom with a twin bed (separated with a door), and a seating area with two chairs and a table by the entry door (separated from bedrooms by a corridor including bathroom and toilet). For a family of four, the size of the suite was very spacious, the AC was very good, and cleanliness was great. The overall services in the hotel, both front desk and breakfast area, were wonderful and made us feel like they are going out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Location was very close and walkable to everything in the old center.

I liked it!

The drain didn’t drain and flooded our room. There were ANTS! We asked to move rooms and were told no. The air conditioning smelled like sewage. The safe was malfunctioning. They wouldn’t refund us. Terrible experience and customer service.
2.0
All was good with our stay. The room could have been a little cooler but with outside temp being 100 degrees on two of our four days it was understandable the AC could not keep up.

We spent our last night in Italy here before heading home and the accommodations, staff and surrounding area definitely made us consider extending our trip another day or two.

The hotel was in a great location, clean, had great breakfast. The staff was very helpful and assisted in organizing a car service from the airport and another to the cruise port. Great experience & would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for a 5-day visit to Rome. It was conveniently located between the Roman Forum and the Trevi Fountain area; and it was close to public transportation. The air conditioning kept the room very cool and comfortable. The breakfast room was superb! The only downside was that the view from our window was an alley and another building. The front desk and housekeeping were friendly and very responsive!

I love this place. Convenient location. Clean and friendly

Good location, in the middle of Rome, bathroom super tight, overall ok but I wouldn’t recommend it for a big family

Excellent location and staff, however we did not have hot water in the morning and the wall/door to the adjoining room was very thin, so it sounded like the guests next to us were in the same room.

David went above and beyond! He made our stay very welcoming and suggested a lot of attractions around the area. I am very appreciative of his guidance.

The ONLY drawback is the business of the street. The noise. But if after a long day, you can sleep well it’s a lovely hotel with a great location. Anything you may desire or need is easily accessible. Great breakfasts and attentive staff. Cleanliness is A .

Property was okay. We stayed for 3 days only so it was alright. The location was convenient. Our room was extremely hot and we had to buy a small fan at Tiger next door to get through the nights. I advised the front desk and they said they came and reset the AC but there was no change. The last night it stopped working altogether.

Great location for walk ..Rome you have to be able body if you go to Rome Italy. Very safe in this hotel…Staff was very helpful. Rooms are a good size for a city. Hotel had does have elevator, but there is some steps to get to your room once you’re on your floor some up and sometimes down…
The restaurant below is part of the hotel with a spiral staircase that leads to the area where the breakfast excellent brunch… it’s been around for over 135 years and they got it going on, when you walk the front sidewalk Café… sit down restaurant with lots of pastries and if you’re looking for a really nice salad, they offer that also.
They have a little convenient store in the back and in the coffee shop stays open 24 hours.. the staff in the restaurant is very friendly.
My stay was two days May 30 - June 1 2024 booked myself through Expedia…. two days in Rome.

Very nice property in a great location, central to everything. Room was huge and in very good shape. Looks like it must’ve had a fairly recent renovation, with generally top quality materials. My only complaint was the shower stall in our room #204. At first, we could only get the small hand spray wand working, and not the large overhead shower head. Then after a lot of tinkering, it mysteriously started working. But then we realized that unless you took a very short shower, and were incredibly careful, you would make a huge puddle on the bathroom floor! This is one of those large walk-in shower stalls where the floor of the shower is at exactly the same level as the surrounding floor, and there is nothing to keep the water from flowing right out. I suspect the whole room was designed as suitable for someone in a wheelchair, since everything was oversized. Large doorways and lots of floor space to maneuver. But other than that problem, everything was nice. Great breakfast buffet every day. Everything was clean. Floor layouts are kind of crazy, but that’s not really a problem. Front entrance is unusual, with a long narrow hallway leading from the street entrance up to a very small reception desk and lobby area.

Even though we were in the middle of Rome the window drowned out a large part of the noise. Breakfast was good and a wide variety of food to suit all, rooms cleaned freshly and well cleaned daily xx

It was an amazing stay! David at the front desk deserves all the praise in the world and a promotion or raise. My poor fiance got really sick one night and David was so amazing at making sure we got what we needed to make him feel comfortable. He provided amazing recommendations. He was so very helpful and truly embodied what customer service should be. We adored him. The breakfast there was phenomenal as well. And the staff downstairs at the restaurant were amazing. Shout out my guy Simon! Recommend this 10/10

The staff was exceptional. The the included breakfast was far beyond expectation with many and Italian options. Would highly recommend. It’s position in the city is perfect. Gentle walking to Trevi fountain and many other options.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like they knew us as friends. We Loved the property and the building. It was very clean, the rooms were a typical EU size and the beds were comfortable. I loved the fact you could go right out on the street and it was walkable to Trevi, and many of the best restaurants. Even a local spot which we met lots of new friends and had wonderful drinks! Worth the stay!!!! Thank you
