Rude staff (shouted at for daring to ask why the room was not ready when they said it would be, even though I was with a 10 month old baby), dirty rooms (including rusty bathroom ) which are cleaned sporadically. Very bad quality of breakfast. Room keys which constantly stop working.

Excellent location right by the beach. Staff were not helpful and make sarcastic comments to customers. Breakfast buffet is poor quality.

I have stayed in this hotel on several occasions up to a few years ago, I returned this year it was not a good experience. The staff were unfriendly, no name badges, The food in the dining room was of poor quality. The corridors were filthy and need to be vacuumed. The room was spotless. The house keeping staff friendly and helpful. There are not enough staff working in reception. You have no business in this hotel if you only speak English. Hardly any information provided in English. There is no late check out. No changing room to shower if you have a late flight, I was told “change in the toilet” The only plus for this hotel is that it is almost on the beach, Cala Marsal beach is beautiful as is Porto Colom. Porto Colom is the most relaxing place in the world but stay somewhere else not Cala Marsal

The hotel is dated but excellent location, friendly staff, walk to beach and restaurants, excellent pool area, free entertainment and large choice of food at breakfast although hot food tepid.

The activity staff were amazing, friendly and fun. The variety of activities was also great. Location by the beach is perfect and the on site pools are also great, if a little chilly!

Big hotel near the beach, the first hotel for many years that wants to have extra for wifi and extra for a towel to the beach. You better don't have to big expectations for breakfast....

i am very appriciated with Cristina at reception. even though some of receptionists are not kind and not helpful, she tried to help me alots. she is absolutely much better than a manager in the reception.

Very nice hotel with a lovely team. Lovely food. This hotel trumps other hotels on location and facilities available. The aircon was ok as it works to a timetable but other than that this hotel is 3.75 stars as opposed to a 4.0 and better but still miles better than a 3 star.

Close to the beach, lovely two pools and enough sunbeds so wasn't crowded.. Had a really nice time here

The hotel was nice overall, but I expected more from a superior room. The room we stayed in was very standard and was not completely clean, there was a lot of dust under the bed which normally I would not care about, but we have a child who likes to throw stuff under the bed. The staff were friendly and courteous. The area was lovely.

We booked at Hotel Club Cala Marsal not knowing anything about the location. On balance, we had a great time, but were a little disappointed with the hotel - I wouldnt say its up to the standards of other 4 star hotels weve stayed at before. We had pretty patchy service from the reception staff, but looking at other reviews, we must have just got them on a bad week. Reception staff were functional, but lacking sincere hospitality or the willingness to go the extra mile. We had booked breakfast, but only had breakfast on 3 of the 7 days as it was pretty poor - for that reason, we didnt venture into the hotel for lunch or dinner. Last gripe - you have to pay for everything! Pool towels, safety box, wifi, baby cot etc - we were there for a week and, in addition to paying for the pool towels, we had to pay to get fresh ones - not really 4 star? You also cant charge anything to your room. All that said, on reflection, the hotel suited us well because: the location is brilliant - amazing beach nearby with loungers, umbrellas and beach bar, lovely restaurants near the beach and a short walk into Porto Colom which has a more restaurants. The room was a good size with a nice balcony. The air con and electricity stopped working the night before we left, but otherwise, everything seemed to work well. Word of caution - the shuttle from the airport can take up to 2-3 hours, so it might be worth hiring a car or arranging a taxi if a long tour around the island is not your cup of tea!

A 1 star experience at best. Guests treated like cattle with even basic standards of service lacking. Not that you would expect it at the price...
