Nice, clean and well equipped apartment in central location. Own private parking spot. Enjoyed the Mediterranean style food of the adjacent restaurant a lot. Perfect for solo traveller or couple.

Alicia was a perfect host & all staff in the bar/restaurant welcoming, friendly and attentive to any needs that we had. The food was superb. The location of The Barn Behind couldn’t be more central in Castleton with the added benefit of an allocated parking space. The accommodation was very comfortable and very quiet particularly at night. Highly recommended and we are already planning a return visit.

Nothing to dislike

We fancied a trip to the Peak District and didn't really know much about the area, it's history or the village. The Barn Behind was already highly rated, so naturally picked this property based on the previous reviews and we were not disappointed. The property itself is fantastic, great location in Castleton with lots of restaurants (1530 & The Nags Head were our favourites). and pubs literally on your doorstep. Really nicely decorated and plenty of space for a couple. Kitchen had everything we could possibly need and the host very kindly provided milk, butter and bread on arrival. You also have off-street parking which was nice as the village does get very busy with walkers and cyclists. One really good feature, was the shower it was fantastic!

This is a personal preference and my wife didn't mind, but the pillows on the bed were too soft for me. Wi-Fi was also a little patchy but understandable giving its location. Nothing else to dislike, loved the place and wish we could have stayed longer.

The location is amazing - perfectly located for getting the most out of the Peak District. The town itself is lovely, everything you'd need for your stay. The Barn is located behind an amazing restaurant - I ordered dinner from them every evening, it was so good! As for the accommodation itself, it was ideal. Kitchen and living space upstairs so nice and private. The bedroom was spacious and comfy and the bathroom was modern and clean. There was even a private parking spot too - all in, a perfect experience.

Great location with the added bonus of a parking spot. Very clean apartment and a great shower. Food in the owners adjacent restaurant was superb. Would definitely stay again.

The fact that the bedroom window is directly where the outdoor covered seating is for the restaurant may be an issue if it was busy. (It wasn't during our stay, so it was no problem for us)

can’t pick a fault at all

A gem of a place to sta when in the High Peaks. The location within Castleton could not be better. If staying be sure to make a dinner reservation at the restaurant to which the property belongs. As well as great food, it's only a short walk home. The facilites are perfect for a holiday stay.

As someone who 'needs' coffee of a morning, a cafetiere could be a welcome addition to the kitchen...

Cooking facilities would have been helpful if we gad been staying longer than 3 nights but Castleton has many places to eat so it was not a problem for us
