I read both the good and bad reviews before reserving to be honest I had my doubts before the actual arrival. For context, I’ve travelled quite a bit, stayed in some of the best hotels and generally I’m a picky person. Let me tell you that this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. What a cute soulful place!! Check in was a breeze, they let me do so early even. The room was spacious, neat, the bathroom was impeccably clean (and white so u can actually see how clean it is). no bugs in the room (I checked). But obviously if you sleep w the windows open you’ll invite the nocturnal fauna in your room. They have portable air conditioners in the room to compensate, though I agree that window screens would do wonders in this case. The lake views are of course unmatched. The restaurant was very reasonably priced, food was delicious and hearty. Some reviews commented on lack of luggage ramp and I only had a backpack but how can one complain about this given the historic beauty of this building? It’s only a few steps up & the property sent me a message ahead of time offering to help with luggage at arrival. That is 5 star service to me. One thing I regret is that I didn't get a chance to see the inside of the building much to feel the history bc I was with my niece and for just one night we had very little time in the hotel. I will make sure to see it one day to try to imagine the splendor of this place in its day. Overall, a 5 star stay in a beautiful town.

The Hotel was very good and clean. Breakfast was very nice. Shared parking with the apartment complex was a bit difficult but workable.

We had a great stay at this hotel. Was the room hot at first? (It was 30 degrees and sunny outside.) Yes, but it cooled down once the ventilation system started up, and we all slept well. We had a room on the first floor, and the cutest little balcony. If you're looking for a brand new hotel, this is not the place for you. But its age is its charm, and we enjoyed the elegance of this hotel very much. It was sparkling clean, and all the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We had a great supper in the bar. We would stay again without hesitation.

Pro: Bus stop right in front of property which made it more convenient to train station and old town, good breakfast buffet, fan in room, comfortable beds Con: no air conditioning and extra fan was never brought to our room, it was almost unbearable heat and humidity during our stay

Whilst checking in the staff were excellent and explained everything fully in order to make the most of the visit. The free use of buses was discussed and it was so easy with the bus stop being right outside the hotel.

A very enjoyable stay, great location on the lake with easy access to transport to town. Staff were excellent annd breakfast was good. Only downside was no a/c but was ok at night with provided fans. I very much recommend this hotel.

The hotel is oldfashioned. There is no air condition. Breakfast is ordinary, and the only available coffee is tapped from a standard industrial coffee brewing machine. The hotel room only offers a very limited range of soap and only one single instant coffee bag each person. The 4-star hotel is an old 3-star hotel.

Very courteous and responsive front desk. Convenient room amenities. Adequately functional. Excellent breakfast. Easy access to HBF.
