Very pretty cottage. Perfect location for us as we had a wedding close by which was the purpose of our stay. Beds comfortable and very clean.

The property is managed by Sykes Cottages. All the numbers provided to get help were either unavailable or unanswered. We had an issue on arrival and could not make contact with anyone. One bedroom had no hanging space or hooks and no mirror other than in bathroom. There was no welcome pack or info on the induction hob which seemed to be locked! These are all things that took the shine off this property.

We know the area well so location was perfect for us (not the weather though 😂) the property is spacious, well equipped, stylish, comfortable and beautifully decorated … it is genuinely very very lovely! The downstairs toilet is. A great extra (though out of service awaiting a Plummer during our visit) but there are two other toilets upstairs so again no drama. The storage/bootroom Again was super useful for cases and hanging damp coats etc though it really could do with a radiator in my opinion … I would highly recommend and would definitely return.

The advertisement between booking.com and Sykes cottages was a bit misleading. The advert said there was a garden(there isn’t, but we hoped there might be a tiny one out back- there is a tiny ‘patio’ out front but it’s on a busy road so not really one for being out on) the advert also said fireplace (though furthercdown in the advert it said not available until 2024, but it also said you’d have starter kit for the fire and photos showed a log burner and a fireplace so I thought maybe there would be a fire…. The only thing that was a real ‘want’ was a fire but this did not impact our stay - we still really appreciated the property and the ability to book at such short notice. As other people have mentioned, parking instructions aren’t too clear but as we know the area well, we knew exactly where to go. If they simply said ‘when approaching from Ironbridge/dale end , take the first left down the slope by the coalbrookdale inn it works be clearer. When trying to use the overhead rainfall shower, the water came out of the unit where the taps was as opposed to the shower head (the other shower head was fine) again, this did not remotely impact our stay and we appreciate these things happen. If I had to make any suggestion it’s our be the following, pop a mat inside the front doors for wiping feet, have a full size ironing board … and the guttering needs a little attention as due to heavy rain wiring our visit, it was pouring down outside the front door. The stairs are steep as was mentioned but again, characteristic of many properties in Ironbridge. I appreciate this sounds like a lots of wrongs, but some are just suggestions and honestly, nothing affected our enjoyment - we had the best time!
