We Booked Surasa Beach Resort for one day to check before staying our last holidays in Weligama, It was a great time and The Owner is a really nice guy.Clean and tidy accommodation ,Lovely staff and amazing location . We had a time learning to surf and could rent motorbikes. Stay here if you are planning to go to Weligama.Hightly recommended.!! Tatiana & Masah

The location is good, right on the main road next to the beach. And it is walking distance from railway station and bus station.

The bedding is not so comfy both mattress and pillow. No hot shower. Flooring is not nice.

Very helpful host, gave some great recommendations and was generally super nice.

The location of this hotel is ideal as its situated across the road from Weligama Beach with easy access to food options and adventure shopping. Its a family run business who need your support and at these prices why wouldn't you book with them? You have the option of cooking your own food or dining out. The hotel has plans for a cafe out the front with seating and umbrellas overlooking the beach and plan to make percolated coffee from local Sri Lankan grown coffee beans which would be a great as an additional service to their clients as it would improve the offering. Staff and manager are pleasant and amenable. Room cleaning is by request and done within an hour of the request This is a 2 to 3 star hotel that wont take much to upgrade which the owners are working hard on now.

Needs a kettle, tea and coffee and sugar in the room. Beds are a little hard and needs upgrading. Prefer white sheets and pillow cases as opposed to patterned ones. Needs a cafe with GOOD COFFEE, fruit juice and snacks out the front overlooking the beach which is right opposite the hotel

The air conditioning worked really well as did the fan. The wifi was superb. The staff were really helpful and friendly.

There is not much natural lighting in the room. This is a bit of a compromise as it does mean that the room is quieter.

Excellent host, good staff. Room was clean. Comfortable stay in excellent location. Close to beach and amenities and bus station. Overall happy. Recommend you eat at AVM cafe nearby, it is excellent.

No fridge in room and a small table in room would help a lot. Breakfast was offered at ten dollars but that was too expensive.

The rooms were very hot (no ac fan was not that good) quiet hours started at 10 and we got asked to silent out music very early

Friendly staff

We stayed at Surasa for four nights and we really enjoyed it here. The rooms are big and comfortable, also you have hot water without any problems! The owner is very friendly and speaks well English. He organised a whale watching tour for us and recommended good restaurants. You have to walk 5-10 minutes to the surf spot but that was no problem because you can walk at the beach. Also there‘s a fridge and a kitchen for the guests. Nearby you have a great stand with good breakfast (there are 4 women in a big stand cooking home made dishes. It‘s at the big glass house, there‘s also a juice bar inside). We definitely recommend Surasa beach resort!

Clean, big comfortable bed with net against mosquitos. Good location - close to the center and to the beach. Be careful to choose the room with the AC.

No hot water - you don't need it anyway. Close to the busy road, it might be a bit noisy in the morning.

The room was clean and the bathroom also. The staff was nice, but we didn't have much contact with them. The location is good for the people that want to explore Weligama.

Nothing special. We personally didn't like the fact that it is situated in front of the the 'dirty' part of the beach.

Host and all staff are super friendly and calm. Once we flooded the room and spent 3 hours cleaning along with the host. It was so amazing and funny! Everybody is relaxed here and we met many nice people during our stay. Fish point is just in front of the hotel, surfing spot is near.

No hot water but we didn't need it at all.

Spacious room with good aircon and ceiling fan. We loved the location, looking out over the beach and close to good restaurants.

As you can see on the map, the main beach road of Welligama passes between the hotel and the beach. it can be quite noisy but we thought worth it for the short walk to the beach and high street.
