I absolutely loved our stay! Great location and friendly service.

Could not have picked a better place to stay for our quick trip to LA. Hotel was very clean, comfortable , and, literally, a few steps to the beach! Thank you Jay for your hospitality! Would definitely stay again.

The place was awesome , Jay the staff was wonderful. No Ac but who needs it when your looking at the ocean, we if you happen to be there during a crazy heat wave and in the 3rd floor…. Would definitely stay here again awesome place . Loved the vintage /updated environment

It is right on the beach! A historic building so a little older but I was honestly impressed with how cute and updated the decorating of the rooms was. The owner was so friendly and accommodating. We’re so lucky we scored a room and found this place. Being right on the beach at this price is hard to beat. Loved it!

Perfect spot right in the beach. Quiet, comfortable and everything one’s needs for a quick get away or extended relaxed weekend. Would book again in Hermosa Beach anytime as it’s near great restaurants and the building and room is all I need. Highly recommend for a couple.

Great location with in short walking distance of many restaurant options among bike rides and none the less a couple of steps and you are in a nice quiet hometown kind like beach...highly recommended BIG THANKS TO "NICOLE" AND THE STUFF

Close to where we wanted to be and clean.

Prior to our check in we received emails and text with instructions. Hermosa Beach has horrible parking but Nicole was excellent in helping us get a space. The outside of the hotel and hallway was not as clean but I believe they were doing some renovation so I completely understand. Our actual room was PERFECT. We had a room with the BEST OCEAN VIEW and just a few steps from the sand. Everything was walking distance.The customer service was a definite 10/10! We will definitely be coming back!!

Nicole was great, the place is iconic south-bay, the strand is 6 feet from the front door, too perfect for an L.A. experience!!

The old style building was cool. You could feel the history. The studio suite was comfortable and had what we need for a comfortable stay. The windows looked their age and could use an upgrade. They done provide much safery lacking their locking capacity.

Greatly surprised by property. Being remodel at the moment. Magnificent combination of old and new world.

Great location but for the money spent for accommodations way overpriced. There is nobody at front desk to request anything. I had to text a person but didn’t know who she was. There was no daily housekeeping. The room did not have room darkening curtains and the lights outside brightened the room like day. The windows were so thin that conversations outside were heard like they were inside our room. This place needs major renovations.

The rooms were small but cute staff was super friendly but the building was in dire need of repair there was a tarp over one window the area above the back door was open around a bit of poorly places plywood the curtain rods kept coming down microwave didn’t work that well no working fan in bathroom ect

Our stay was 10/10 incredible! We enjoyed the atmosphere, a few steps away from the beach! The view from our room was amazing! Upon arrival everyone was so nice and welcoming. Nicole was an absolute gem! She really made me feel comfortable and was quick to respond to any questions I had via text message which made everything so convenient. I really liked and took advantage of the washers and dryers on site just a few steps from our room. This property has character and history and really felt like home to us. A true sample of excellent hospitality! Thanks again Nicole & Vurpillat , we will return in the near future!

Theirs a hole inside the building it’s missing stucco and insulation, theirs no AC in the room and no internet shower is very small and has a really big shower head that does not allow you to take a comfy shower , we were placed by the Ally people were doing drug deals saw it two times , bed is horrible the springs are coming out. Inside the room their is a big drywall hole next to the bed

The floor (ceiling) is surprisingly thin, so you can hear footsteps from the floor above. It takes a long time for hot water to come out and the temperature is low. The parking lot is quite far away on the street.

Location is the only thing good about this place. Its on the strand in front of the beach. The room for a solo traveler was too small. Im only 5ft 103lbs i could barely fit in the shower. The place is a Tort waiting to happen (for those of you in the legal profession) i did have to remove some items off the wall so they wouldnt fall on my head. Heavy mirrirs in a bathroom that 4 sqt ft i kept hitting my head on it. The throw rug was filthy so i had to werar shoes in the room. Some of the lights did not work. No hangers in the target stand alobe closet. The bed was very uncomfortable supported by plywood and pipes from home depot. The room had an electrical short so i could not use the coffee maker fridge and microwave. No cream or sugar for coffee. No extra towels. No service. Its like the placre has no management or housekeeping. I think whoever runs this place works remotely. No one is evet there. No instructions on how to use the TV. Furnishings were disorganized and not adaptable to the space. The window had a white shower curtain drape. All hardwood floors on 3 levels bring your earplugs lots of walking done on stairs and hallways with suitcases because there is no elevator.

We enjoyed our stay at the Vurpillat. I have to admit that at first we were a little dubious about staying. The building - from the outside is in need of some repair - which the owners appear to be making. It is a very old building with a lot of interesting history, which Jay - the manager explained to us. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable as was the couch for sleeping. The proximity to the beach was perfect as well as the Hermosa Beach pier, restaurants and shops. Jay and Nicole were very accommodating and we had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay there again.
