We loved this property. It is extremely private, fully surrounded by nature. The house was clean and well kept. It had everything we needed.

Exactly as advertised. Perfect comms, perfect surroundings, especially for a mom who wanted a little getaway from the hectic day to day at home to recharge. It was serene and peaceful. Very clean and my dog absolutely loved it too!

Just a 2-hour drive for us from Annapolis, this has been a repeat Fall getaway place for us for 3 years now (and we hope to come back again next year). For a tiny house, it has everything you need. And to wake up in the morning and just sit with a cup of coffee overlooking the pond is super peaceful. And is close to downtown Front Royal, breweries, wineries, Skyline Dr, hiking, etc. The owners are super communicative and helpful. The cottage was clean and well-kept. Each year we enjoy seeing what else they have added or upgraded. Hope to be back next year.

My wife and I were celebrating a quiet weekend away after our wedding, or a “mini-moon” as I’m told it’s called! This place had everything we needed to cook up some great food and relax! The area with adirondack chairs overlooking the property was the perfect spot to enjoy some coffee and read in the morning. When in Front Royal, check out Vibrissa Brewing - so good!

We have stayed in numerous places all over the US and overseas. This is by far the nicest secluded stay we have ever been at. The pond, cottage and waterfall are great. The owners were extremely helpful. Thanks for a wonderful trip.

Everything about our stay was perfect. House and water were excellent for the two of us and our dogs. Swimming and kayaking was where we spent most of our days. Deer, fox and eagle watching in the mornings was great to take in. Evening fires in the hot tub, with the waterfall in the background, was our nightly unwind. We’ll definitely look forward to future visits. Thank you again to the hosts for delivering a fantastic location!

What a beautiful secret bungalow! The lush greenery and rock waterfall truly reminded us of Hawaii. Bring some groceries and a few bottles of wine - you won’t want to leave!

We have just returned from a glorious four-day weekend at the Pond Cottage and will return as soon as our schedules allow. This is one of Virginia's hidden gems and a serene escape from the rush of daily life. This property was carefully thought out and nothing has been overlooked. You feel at peace the moment you open the door and, quite frankly, won't ever want to leave.

The Pond Cottage is a perfect place for a romantic getaway weekend. In fact I just proposed to my fiancee there high on a rock ledge overlooking the property. She said YES! I'm going to call this "Engagement rock" from now on. The cabin is perfect size for a couple with all the amenities you would want. It is very clean and modern. We used them all. We soaked in the hot tub, had fires on the "beach" every night and laid out and watched the stars to a symphony of frogs and the illumination of fireflies. At dusk we had a deer come by to visit nightly and was a witness to our engagement ceremony! What a perfect setting! We even did NOT have mosquitoes! That's great! We cooked inside, outside, ate inside and outside, did some hiking and kayaking, even went into nearby parks and did some biking. Everything was at our pace and it was so relaxing! A lake, a hot tub, a waterfall, a comfortable cabin, and not one person for three days. It was great. We even saw an eagles nest and an eagle feeding her babies down by the river. The owners were very prompt to respond to all inquiries. Very satisfied.

Me and my wife spend the weekend in this amazing, relaxing cottage. This place is perfect for anyone who needs a break from it all. The cottage is very secluded from town and so private. The view in the morning is spectacular with the sound of the waterfall.

This is a great place to get away from it all. Not enough linens were provided in my opinion. Also the hot tub didn't work 100% half the jets didn't work. Also had difficulty working the TV (Roku) and kept having to reset router. Also some black stuff kept falling from the air condition unit and had to clean up daily in front of the bathroom. Other than the few things a great romantic getaway!

This was a great little spot in a secluded area! We went as a "one last get away before the baby comes" and sitting in the hot tub in a beautiful location gave us exactly what we were looking for. Will definitely be back!!

Very clean, and modern interior design, very well thought out space. Relaxing and away from it all, apart from missing an extra pan to cook with, a very nice stay. would highly recommend.

We loved this cottage, the privacy, location to hiking, trails, and the river. The stone pond and waterfall were a very nice touch. I have to say, for the detail that was put into the house, the beds were terribly uncomfortable. Everyone in our group suffered from the uncomfortable beds and it was noticeable. If it weren't for the beds, I would have given this cottage a 5 star review.

We had a blast at the pond house! My husband and I stayed for 7 nights for our 10 year anniversary. It was so peaceful, and very private. The gravel road coming into the property got washed out, which caused us a little trouble getting there, but the owner was very prompt in fixing up the road the next morning. That was the only problem we came across the whole stay (and not that big of a deal either). The hot tub was great. Our small dogs had a blast exploring the property. And I got into a kayak for the first time (I'm not an adventurous person, LOL). A family of 6 deer wandered across each morning, stopping to drink from the pond. It was just so great to be away from everything! We can't wait to come back every year.

Better than advertised! Perfect setting and coziness for our family of 4. Played board games and read books. Close enough but yet far away. We would definitely stay here again. Download the app - all instructions were spot on.

What a lovely little cottage. Has everything you need including peace and quiet. Easy to wake up in the morning and do yoga on the deck while the sun comes up. Take a quick soak in the hot tub after and then walk over to the deck across the pond and read a book. I know there is plenty more to do but if you just need a break it's also perfect for that. We will be back very soon!

I can't say enough good things about our stay. It was perfect. The cabin was great, the property is beautiful, the location is perfect. We hope to come again when it is warm!!

Getting in touch with the owners was easy, the guides in the cottage were clearly written, and the grounds themselves were wonderful. I will definitely recommend this place to others and hopefully will get the chance to visit again in the near future. We went to a few places nearby- the brewery that's less than 5 miles away had some decent beer, but I wouldn't suggest going there for food. There was a cafe called the Blue Wing Frog that's about a 20 minute drive from the cottage, and it was WONDERFUL. Go there if you can! We also went to the Skyline Caverns on our way out of town. It was fine, but I'm sure there are a few other things you can do that might be more worth your time. Two little things- the overhead rain water shower head didn't work, and the # to the house was a little difficult to find, which just had us circling the property awhile.

The cottage and property were absolutely fantastic. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Overall, excellent experience! We saw wild turkey, deer, and Pileated Woodpeckers on the property. Scenery was outstanding; very pretty. The property's waterfall and lake were gorgeous. Great place for nature watching. The driveway was steep and the gravel loose, but this is hard to avoid given the terrain. Also note, this didn't negatively impact our stay, but the checkout directions talk about a dishwasher, but the house did not have one. Regardless, the kitchen was stocked with most anything you may need. The location in relation to sightseeing, places to eat, etc. was good. Note that there was no cable, but a Roku with apps was provided as an alternative. A fire pit with plenty of wood and kindling was provided, and was very convenient to use. There was a problem with the driveway gate, but the owner was very responsive and fixed it right away. As a dog owner, we often find some places inconvenient. Not this property! It was great for our dog to run around and have a fun time safely. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to others!

We needed to recharge and just get away from a very hectic few months. This was perfect! It was just the right size for my hubby and I with the dog. Place was clean and pretty. Quiet with no interruptions. We plan to make this a yearly trip.

We could not have asked for more. The property was exactly as described, and wonderfully relaxing. We enjoyed the hot tub, the pond, the deck, the waterfall -- all of it. We even picked wineberries on the property. And on the day it rained, the proximity of the cottage to local wineries was ideal. The hosts were so communicative, and everything was clean, in working order, and really thoughtful. We are really looking forward to returning! Thank you so much!

This cottage is perfect. The frogs in the evening are amazing to listen to. The waterfall is great background noise. We built a fire one evening, there's plenty of fire wood. The bed is super comfortable. In the evenings we watched movies with the fireplace on. It's very cozy. The shower is really nice too. This cottage makes for a very relaxing getaway.

In need of some time away, I looked at several rentals around the Shenandoah Valley area and I absolutely lucked out by choosing the Pond Cottage. My stay was filled with much needed rest and relaxation...I didn't have to leave even once because everything I needed was right there. The best part was I was able to bring my forever four-legged companion with me. The area is beautiful and gave us both everything we needed to be content in our relaxation. We will certainly be back to enjoy the sites, sounds and serenity of the rental. Thank you again!
