I spent close to 400 per night I was expecting cleanliness and upgraded accommodation's. Instead the room was dirty, had not been dusted, so humid that I slept in wet sheets the first night. The sink in the bathroom had mold along the edges, the bathroom itself needed improvement. The patio was dirty as were the chairs. I asked for the curtains to be switched out as they were all full of mold, from my first day and everyday. It never happened. Staff and front desk was nice enough but ignored my request. I was given an opportunity to take a cabin close to the beach but it meant leaving half my family in the main building as they would not accommodate for our second room. They sent up a large de-humidifier, and I had to ask a few times a day for it to be emptied...if I didn't ask it didn't happen. I ended up carrying about 3 gallons of water at least 3 times a day to empty it out. The restaurant doors were so dirty, wall paper peeling in certain areas...there was a ball of hair on the carpeting in the hallway of our floor...for days..never again.

The room was clean. Comfortable seating and the bed was excellent. The front lobby was very nice. We kept cool throughout our stay.

Staff there is very courteous and did a great service.
Frances Adorno at the reception desk was so pleasant and accommodating. She made sure that we had what we asked for. She also advised us about the town and transportation services. Managers checked with us every day if we were comfortable and what services are available. Fairmont is a great place to stay with pools and beach. I will highly recommend this place

I did not see any information about the parking. Once we got there, we were surprised with a $30 dollars a day parking. I asked the lady at the front desk about the parking information and she could not answer me. She just told me that the hotel charges for parking.

Staff excellent & very helpful & nice restaurants inside..Way to many cats roaming around for me especially if your allergic..doors didnt work to patios & we kept loosing power for some reason

The stay was overall average. Our room when we checked in had a leaking vent on the ceiling. Took almost 3 hours and multiple times for the hotel to “verify” it was actually leaking. When we finally got a new room everything was better. I had to remind at checkout that they told me they would waive the resort fee because of the leaking room inconvenience.

The hotel was gorgeous inside and out.
Just a few issues.
The lady who checked us in wasn’t friendly.
Also one of the male bartenders outside the Caña restaurant had an attitude.
With our room the shower head did not work,
and the blow dryer had very low pressure and kept shutting off.

El San Juan Hotel is a wonderful stay that really provides everything you need. Great pool, on site beach, plenty of towels, dozens of beach chairs and umbrellas. We also went during the week before the labor day madness and we had the resort to ourselves pretty much. The room balcony could have used some chairs and a table. Also the door had spray foam around it, I think to seal the cold air from going out but didn't bother me. All in all highly recommend staying here as there are good places to eat outside the hotel that are walking distance. All the service staff in the hotel were great and very friendly. Of course service might take a little longer than back at home (island time) but your on vacation, relax and enjoy!

Arrived at the hotel later than anticipated - after check in started and the room still wasn’t ready. Had to wait and was told we’d get a credit I still have not seen.
Concierge/front desk was not informative of where everything was located on their property as well as nearby attractions during the wait. We had to figure out where the pool/restaurants/gift shops were ourselves.
Had a door dash order be dropped off at the front desk after I requested it be sent to the room and the front desk staff never called us to let us know our order was waiting.
By the pool, we asked if the restaurant was the only place to order food or could we eat by the pool and was told the restaurant was the only place when later on in the day we saw others ordering food to eat by the pool.
Checked out very early morning around 3a and was told I’d receive an emailed receipt I still have yet to receive.
For the price, the hotel is dated and the service needs to be a lot better as far as attentiveness and kindness.

Lobby is very dark, half of the pool area is reserved for people willing to pay extra for their chair and require a minimum charge of food and alcohol that was very pricey….leaving everyone to be packed like sardines to one area of chairs. The woman checking us in literally yawned multiple times and then apologized saying she forgot she was at work. Had a regular room with the view of a roof, bathroom was extremely small, and the milk work in the room was scratched and chipped. The one bathroom drawer was difficult to open and the door for the bathroom was a sliding barn door (likely because the bathroom was so small there was no room for a regular door) that left gaps on either side of the door.
All in all I booked this resort knowing it made the top Condé Nast list but I wouldn’t return.
I booked this location for the better beach area but after going to the condado area, I would book a hotel in condado.

The pool bartender was also amazing Juan Soto, we made sure we were comfortable and accommodated us in the best pool section and made sure we always had a drink in had. Milagros cleaned our room everyday and made sure the room was welcoming, clean, and fully stocked. Keith was the lobby bartender and provided amazing service, along with history of the resort. Amazing luxury stay. Family, pet, and couples friendly hotel. Has everything you need to feel at home. I am planning my next trip and ready to stay again.
