We had a terrible experience at the Hilton DoubleTree in Poughkeepsie, NY, and ended up leaving shortly after checking in. We had to change rooms three times due to ongoing issues, and ultimately requested a refund. The first room had an awful odor, like mildew or a wet dog, which made it unbearable to stay in. The second room had a door that wouldn’t close properly—we had to push it hard to get it to shut—and the air conditioning didn’t work. In the third room, despite maintenance assuring us that the AC would kick on in five minutes, it never did, even after waiting 15 minutes in the sweltering heat. At that point, we gave up and left. For a Hilton property, this was extremely disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel based on our frustrating experience.

I have a daughter in college in Poughkeepsie. This is her 4th year. I have always stayed there when I'm town. I am happy the hotel is having a makeover. I enjoy staying there and have always been treated kindly by staff. Thank you

Didn’t give a Five star due to construction. I’m sure one all renovation have been completed Double Tree will not disappoint.

A nice hotel with great parking option, good staff and good rooms but the downtown Poughkeepsie area makes Baltimore look like Beverly Hills.

AC unit in room broken on July 31, 2024. The constant noise oscillation, heat (cooler in hallways), and lack of sleep were collectively unbearable.

Excellent place to stay.
