Old, dated, gross hotel, and we were in the RENOVATED part. Not worth the money. Smells like mold. There was food left in the microwave. Furniture and lighting is like 40 years old. This was a super disappointing waste of money.

It was a nice day and people were very nice. They offered cookies at the end of the day which was much appreciated. They ran out of coffee for breakfast the first morning, which was unfortunate for us! Also, I strongly feel that parking fees are way too expensive when we are already paying a lot to stay at a hotel. I know that this is common practice but it really sucks.

The room was humid and had a moldy smell. Though I turned on AC, it had no change. Then I turned heater and tried to eliminate humidity and moldy smell but no change.

Good area, friendly staff, but facility needs a LOT of TLC! The elevator is terrifying (it even stopped working while I was inside), the carpets in the hallways are filthy and coming undone, and the bathtub floor was dirty. Overall, not a great stay.

Hallways were hot with worn carpet. Rooms were good. AC good, a little loud. Nice breakfast included. Great location for beach, horse races, restaurants. Italian restaurant nextdoor had good pizza.

Unfortunately I would not stay here again. The rooms were dirty, with old carpet, repainted tubs that had paint coming off, ripped bed skirts, very dirty balcony covered in bird poop, no ac in the breakfast room. The walls and doors looked like they hadn’t been wiped down at all. I would not recommend this location at all.

The hotel is in a great location, but run down-no place to hang towels in bathroom, room air-conditioner from floor above us major leaking all over the patio, carpet’s really bad! Also no easy access to the ocean unless you had a car!

Management was nice and gave us one night parking free and that was great. Desk chair seat was old and frayed. The carpet in the hall did not give a good first impression. The elevator took forever for only three floors. Maybe they were fixing it when we left so we got to drag our luggage down two flights of stairs. our previous night had been spent at the San Diego airport, Holiday Inn express, and there was no comparison that was much better than the one in Solana Beach. It’s too bad because we like the area, but we will probably not be going back to the Holiday Inn express in Solana Beach.
