My arrival went smoothly. The location is great near restaurants. The room was clean. Breakfast was delicious. I enjoyed my stay

The room was too dark. There are only lights in the bathroom and walk way. I was told room service could only be done in the morning every other day and that I couldn’t have my room cleaned during my short stay despite expensive cost of the trip.

Comfortable hotel within walking distance to main attractions in downtown Columbia and in a wonderful location in the Vista. Staff was very friendly, room was clean. Would stay again.

Under construction so very noisy and could not access lobby for work. Only one elevator in service. No notice this location inder construction when booking. Breakfast was sad. Decided to walk to eat elsewhere.

Our stay at this property was not great. The AC did not work in our room. They sent a maintenance person to repair it & the air went out a second time in a matter of 15 minutes. From that point, they said they would need to replace the entire unit, but did not offer to move us. After waiting over 30 minutes for the repair, we asked for a room change. While they did move us, they did not offer to help us transfer rooms or bring us a new room key. The WiFi was down & the front desk told us that they couldn’t do anything about it. The TV did not work properly either. You had to be standing on top of it to change the channels. The cleanliness of the room was also an issue with some mold on the shower door and dried food on the inside top of the ice bucket. The lobby was completely torn up due to renovations and only one of two elevators were working and it was very sketchy. The stairs were out of service, so the elevator was the only option to reach the room. The breakfast area was located in the middle of the construction zone. The waffle maker was not working properly and other food items were poorly stocked. We did not feel comfortable dining in the hotel, so went elsewhere for breakfast. Lastly, the employees were minimally responsive. We found one employee sitting behind the front desk playing on his phone during the breakfast rush. We usually book at Hampton Inn and this was the worst experience we’ve ever had.

Trash and debris on the floor in the hallway, open areas with equipment and debris, holes in the wall with wires exposed at all times, tape over the smoke detectors and other areas in our room, no one was actively working on these areas.

Had to request room service multiple times. We had an extended stay and it was very busy. It was pretty loud in the evenings as cars were racing on the street outside our window. Should have requested a different room. It was centrally located and the staff was very warm and professional.

Staff was not very accommodating and rushed me thru my check in. The pool is under construction!!!!! I had no idea and the entrance has been rerouted through a long narrow corridor that barely 2 people could fit! The line for free breakfast was insane and there is nowhere to sit. Will not be back!

This property was undergoing renovations. I was not notified of this until check-in. Since renovations were underway, the swimming pool was down. The only reason I chose this hampton inn was the swimming pool advertised at booking

Website stated a pool and fitness center. Neither were opened because of renovations. Gum on the floor. Bathroom hand towel had a stain on it. One elevator working. No vending machine on our floor even though it stated it.

Not sure if it’s due to the construction but the hallways and everything need a deep clean. When we walked into our room the floor was sticky and my shoes were sticking as I walked. I could also see spills and crumbs. I asked that the laminate part of the floor be cleaned again and someone came and quickly went over it. It was still very dirty so I went over it with 4-5 Clorox wipes. They turned black from the amount of dirt that was on the floor. The positives and reason for 2 stars is the staff was very nice and the breakfast was good. Also a good location and easy drive to the university and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance.

The Hampton Inn staff has always gone above and beyond for the guests. This was even more evident on my most recent stay. There is massive construction in the lobby and the "front desk" staff was helpful, generous and kind even in their not ideal work environment

We had a great stay. We stayed in 4 different hotels on this 7 night trip and this was the best one by far. Very clean lots of room and comfortable.
