We didnt get to stay there. We made the booking and when we arrived at the property the reception was not open dispite it being the office hours. No one anwsered the telephone or the out of hours number. I was on hold with hotels.com whilst they tried and still no room or anwser. We ended up sleeping in the car. We have asked for a refund and hotels.com cant get the hotel to agree. Terrible place

Arriving to the property: wrecked car in lot, dirty socks laying on walkway. * Should have turned around and left then *
Unit 12 - our unit - had paint flaking off wall in kitchen, a stove knob laying in a frying pan on stove, rust and yuck on fridge and walls, roach in shower, holes punched in bedroom #2 door, and 2 punch holes in bathroom #2.
Rusty light fixtures with a mismatch of light bulbs of different colors and sizes, super cheap towels and no wash cloths.
I small loveseat size couch and one wicker chair in living room.
Basically, this is a poorly maintained, dumpy, and sketchy place.
You have been warned.

While it was a little difficult to find the office within the building it all worked out. The apt itself was well appointed and clean even though the bathroom is in need of a little TLC and the towels were at a minimum. I would however stay there again. Loved the style of the apt and the location was great!

Location is great. But the Expedia listing is deceiving. The pictures did not depict the actuality of the room. The rooms are bare, old, an unpleasant musty humid smell, and dark. I would retake pictures of the room so customers know exactly how it looks.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. We had plenty of space to park as well. It a block away from the beach, and walking distance to many restaurants. It’s a very safe area and we were able to walk around at night too. The room was very clean and well as the other areas. They have a pool and seats to hang out. Building is a bit aged, but that’s due to the area. I will be back for sure!

The manager was nice and very accomodating. But, the hotel is very run down and dirty. The room had pealing paint ,black mold in the bathroom and some of the lights didn't work. The one positive thing would be its proximity to the beach for the price.

The location of the property was wonderful. The staff was great. The property itself was in need of some help. Painting, tile repair, and general upkeep was needed.

This was my second time staying at Coral Reef and it was another great experience. Staff was great, facilities are great, the island of key Biscayne is very walkable and the beach is only a 5 min walk away.

Nice little hotel... used to be an apartment (I think there are still many residents that still live there and only a few units are now being used at "hotel rooms"). This is totally fine for us. That means the swimming pool and property is not booming with tourist and the property is well kept and clean.
Roberto (the manager / owner) was super nice and accommodating with everything we needed from beach towels to hotel needs.
It is close to the beach with just a short walk to a private entrance to the beach and you can easily walk to the restaurants and the park.

I’m not sure how this hotel has the rating it has to begin with. It’s awful in general and you can feel the springs individually in the mattress. The couch is not a couch. It’s a worn out futon, extremely uncomfortable. The TV would not turn off no matter what we did, it was just overall in not great condition and check in process was a little weird not enough details in the description provided to describe just how unprofessional it is. Definitely will be coming again.
