Honestly when I booked this property I thought I might be getting scammed based on how nice it was for the price. I was very pleased to see that the room we booked(the deluxe suite) was even nicer in person. The bathroom with sauna was heavenly. Instead of immediately walking around Kyoto and sightseeing for our one day trip, I ended up spending 4 hours in our private little spa room just relaxing(and I regret nothing). Far and away the nicest hotel room I have ever stayed in but far from the most expensive. The staff at the front desk were very nice and spoke English. The coffee bar was a very nice touch. The only hitch was the electronic room controls in our room that controlled the blinds seemed to be malfunctioning with no clear solution. Luckily the room was secluded enough that having the blinds stuck open didn’t matter all that much, it was mostly the sunlight in the morning waking us a little earlier than expected but hey, it got us out of bed and encouraged us to see a little bit more of Kyoto’s beauty before we head to check out. Even with this slight hitch, still a 5/5 experience.

The Gion Elite Terrace was a delight. Very comfortable, central, quiet. Very lovely staff. Free washer and dryer. Everything we needed to explore Kyoto.

very nice experience living in Gion. Facilities are new, clean and modern, nice staffs with good communications. Free drinks provided, convenient location, cozy bathroom. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel for our family of three. Modern facilities, very clean, and helpful staff. Good location, close to heritage areas (though no views from the suite). Ask staff to help you make dinner reservations, as walk-in space was hard to come by in the better restaurants. Only quibble was the 6/10 breakfast buffet, which was probably just our tastes. Otherwise would definitely recommend, and would stay there again.

Our favorite hotel during our trip to Japan! We really enjoyed the large bathroom and shower area with tub, the room was a nice size with a comfortable bed, and we enjoyed having a balcony. Easy walk to the train and plenty of nearby temples and shrines. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in Kyoto.

A wonderful location in Gion on a quiet street but close to walking streets and nice restaurants. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind as well. My only reservation about staying here again would be that it isn’t as nice as it looks in photos. The rooms are a bit worn and pillows are cheap. I expected this to be a nicer hotel for the price but again, the location is the main draw.

Lacks soundproofing so you can hear all the neighbors. My room had a random connecting door to the next room. Front doors do not have a security latch. Also, the bed sheets I got had visible stains and the walls are covered in marks. Overall, the rooms are big and the location is new and centrally located. However, you can easily find a better budget friendly option.
