It was my first stay at a Riu hotel. It was great. The hotel is only a couple of years old and is still in good condition. The food at all the restaurants. The only cons were that my bedding was slightly dirty and sometimes the service in the restaurants wasn't great. I was ignored a few times!

Literally every interaction I had with staff was friendly and welcoming. Everything was spotless, the food was delicious both in buffets and in the restaurants. Many activities to engage with guests. Very attentive to all needs. Amazing beach access and close proximity to strip. Couldnt have asked for more

I had a great time!! From all the great pre stay communication to check in the customer service was excellent before I even arrived. The resort is modern and in great condition. It was tremendously clean. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. Food was great and abundant. Pools were great and the options were nice. It is a great size with anything you can need but not too large. I had never been to Cancun but I can see this becoming a regular destination and I fully expect to return again and again!!

Our stay at this resort was absolutely amazing! The weather was beautiful, the resort was modern, constantly cleaned, and had plenty of things to do! This resort was more laid back but you have free access to the other RIU resorts in Cancun for the parties. My fiancé and I loved the food and the room. Upgrading to Elite club was worth the money in our opinion. Exclusive pool, gifts for your room each day, exclusive restaurant, and not to mention the red carpet upon check-in is a great touch! My only complaints would be the food at the Italian restaurant. We visited the Italian restaurant and did not have a very great experience. The food wasn’t fresh at the salad bar there. But the resort buffet always served great food each night! Breakfast at the buffet was also very good each morning as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I don’t speak much Spanish so they really helped me out. Overall, wonderful experience! Would definitely come back for another stay!

Shuttle to and from the airport are the only problem since I booked through Hotels.com. I followed instructions to book the transportation but the shuttle company that provides the service never received my info. Both Riu hotel and Hotels.com did not address this issue when I reached out multiple times. I end up spending 1500 Mexican Pesos to pay for taxi to the hotel. I also had to spend extra time to ensure my shuttle back to the airport was available and booked at the reasonable time frame.

The scammed us for money saying i broke my door frame to my room. It was like that when we checked in. They help me hostage for 4000 pesos and wouldnt let me leave. Very sad i have stayed at a bunch of places in cancun this was by far the WORST. Stay far awat

Overall the resort was great! Cons:Maybe I’m picky but the sheets were not comfortable and the bed was very hard. I wish there was more wine choices as there was no rose unless you wanted to pay more which I find ridiculous. Pros: One of the cleanest resorts I have ever stayed at. Fun atmosphere overall and the beach was gorgeous. Food was pretty good the breakfast buffet especially. Almost anything you could think of was an option.

The food was terrible. The room was great but the food was awful. The breakfast was not good, the lunch buffet was bad and the Asian restaurant was not edible. The best food was the lunch near the pool. And the upgrade to the excellence club was a waste. The “special” pool was deep and nothing special. DO NOT GET IT!!! Overall if you don’t care about the food or don’t have a palate go ahead and stay.

Drinks were amazing and food was top notch. Loved my room and view. Only downside they want to limit you to one towel to use at the pool. They make you use a card to check out the towel. Very odd. I travel a lot and have never seen that before. Otherwise loved my trip and would go again.

Would recommend this hotel . Not very large but rooms are clean and food is decent would stay here again . Beach and pools are very nice and service was excellent . The staff is very friend my Would not recommend the transportation through Expedia destination devices. Horrible and rude staff and extremely disorganized and unwilling to help . We had to wait almost two hours to get transferred to hotel and had to Uber back

The transportation was our biggest issue ...we paid for shuttle service and both ways we had to paid private taxi. On our departure we were in the lobby for over an 1 hr only to be told that our transportation left us. The guys who is responsible for this transition knew were waithing and in my opinion deliberately did not tell us bec he wanted us to miss our ride so he could use his friend as pri ate taxi and charge us $ 50 !!!...i felt were were victams of a scam. We were on our honeymoon and and we didnt feel special at all ...sometime the room was not ready ..it was defiantly not homeymoon ready.

I would definitely recommend this resort to others. The resort is beautiful & still new. The only thing I would change is better nightlife or a night club added. Other than that nothing needs to be changed!

i liked the cleanliness of property. workers are constantly cleaning,,i loved the hospitality, everyone made u feel special and welcomed every time theyd see you. the food was most excellent even though one was a buffet bar, items were very tasty delicious and hot or cold as needed to be. beach was always very clean like i said everyone always welcoming you. all the wait staff always wanting to bring you more and more and more drinks ie.. beer wine drinks colas. i will definitely be back sooner than later

I had an amazing time. It was my birthday and everything was awesome! The room and property were very clean. The food was delicious, probably one of the best buffets I’ve ever had on a resort! Pepe’s which is a grill by the pool had amazing food. The only food that was just decent was the restaurant food. The restaurant(s) food wasn’t bad it just wasn’t anything spectacular; I prefer the buffet. Also, I had an ocean view room and the weather was beautiful so I loved relaxing on the balcony. I also appreciated that I could see the resort filling the public water tanks with bottled water. The only small cons that I noticed are 1. if you’re looking for a party resort they don’t really have any big parties at this resort. However, while I was there they provided a shuttle to go to another Rui destination that was only 5 minutes up the road to join their party for free. So you do have options throughout the week to travel to other parties on other Rui resorts if you want. The other second very small con, is we just didn’t realize house keeping came into the rooms twice in the day (once in the morning to clean, and then once in the evening to remake the bed (if needed) and close the blackout curtains. This isn’t a bad thing but our group of females just wasn’t aware so it took us a second to realize that it was housekeeping coming in the rooms at night and there was nothing strange going on. The last part was just more of an FYI. Overall I 100% recommend and will def. return!
