There was very little going right when we arrived at the property. The only positive thing that happened at this property were the staff for the most part. They were very helpful and very upfront unlike the website.

Thunder Bay was in the middle of a heatwave. The building is cooled only in the hallway but not by central air. It is cooled by cold water pipes. The room we are first assigned was 88°, the bathroom faucet didn’t shut off and the toilet kept running. We went back to the desk they did try to move us to a colder room, however that room was occupied. Additional to the lack of air conditioning, when booked via booking.com we were give a price of approximately $362 when we arrived at the hotel and they took our card we were told that that price was wrong and we actually owed them over $450 and that I needed to dispute the difference with booking.com as they provided the wrong price.

Don’t stay here! The homeless stay right outside the front doors.

Dirty, AC doesn’t work! Smells. Wouldn’t let us change rooms because of the AC not working. They brought us a broken fan! Staff seemed hesitant to reach out to manager to assist us.

Noise from every other room above and beside. Noise traveled too easily between rooms. People were up all night being loud and slamming doors.

The Hot tub was down, other than that it was fine.

The room was clean and comfortable.

Noise from other rooms travelled through the walls. Had to listen to some guy being sick at 3:00 am.

We spent a 10 day stay there, after the original hotel we booked fell far below our expectations. We stayed one night because we arrived late at night, but immediately checked out the following morning and booked the remaining days of our stay at Victoria Inn. Although it was a last minute booking we were given a cosy poolside room. Our time spent there was heaven. We made good use of the hot tub, and found that sitting on deck just outside of our room people watching and enjoying the ambiant relaxed atmosphere with excellent covid safety protocols in place that also made us feel safe was all and more than we could have asked for. I have no complaints and can truthfully say from now on, it is the only hotel we will stay at when visiting Thunder Bay in future. Many many thanks to the entire staff for excellent above and beyond customer service.

Our vacation ended and we had to leave or we would still be there and now have to wait until next summer. :-)
