The hotel is in a brilliant location and service is incredibly friendly and attentive. We chose a suite to have space for our two kids and it worked really well. The ocean view from the windows was stunning - just a shame this section of the hotel doesn't have balcony's to enjoy though! The restaurants are brilliant - from the coffee shop for early morning coffees and pasties to the restaurant serving brunch on weekends the pool area serving food and drinks. Guest services were super helpful finding bike rentals for us and we used the street car to get a ride back from the beach - much easier than carrying the kids up the hill! We loved walking everywhere from the hotel. Would definitely stay here again!

The spa is nothing to write home about for a property of this calibre and the pool area can get cramped when it's busy - we managed to find chairs when we went but others weren't so lucky. And the suites need balconies!

Wrong room, drama at front desk. Dirty room, dirty bathroom, dirty sheets, very late knock on door. Room service no masks, coughed on fruit, then rubbing eyes and nose. Did not wash hands. Strike blocked driveway and frightened my wife. Very bad decision to stay with your hotel on our special Occasion.

Lovely hotel in a good position, by the beach and well located for Santa Monica - which is a good base for seeing LA. Despite other reviews I didn’t find it run down.

We had so many problems that I think the management must have been bad. A demonstration about pay outside the hotel at 7am on our first morning which woke up our kids reinforced that. We were supposed to be able to check in at 3 but the room wasn’t ready till 5. We had 3 wrong orders from the first dinner we ordered. We had to ask 3 times for service at breakfast. We asked reception to lay out the sofa bed for us but they didn’t. Emil, Oscar and Antoine deserve the credit for doing their best and I should also mention we were given a $200 credit for which I am grateful. But it is not good enough for an expensive 5 star hotel. I attach a photo of the view from our window and the toast I ordered for breakfast!

The location is amazing, the staff went above and beyond to make out stay comfortable. The pool is nice and the beds are comfy.

Not really a Fairmont standard, the rooms and hallways are outdated and very old. Clearly requires a refurbishment!

Location is good for the seas view. But, a bit far away for what we wanted.

The entire experience was not up to the standards of five stars hotel 1-Elevator was out of service during the entire stay at the hotel we have to use the service elevator which was so dirty 2- Room furniture is to old and carpet is not clean 3- Bed mattress and everything is over used 4- The management didn’t make anything to make up for it or offer anything to improve our experience.

Filtered water available in the halls. Loved the toiletries brand.

Rooms were nice and clean. Staff was very nice.

No fans in the bathroom Elevators are wonky and don’t work exactly as they are supposed to.

the restaurant and its happy hour, coffee shop opens very early.

the room is awful, we were in the pallisades and asked for a quiet room. we might as well been sleeping on the street. the windows sound insulation was practically non existent, I wrote a review on Tripadvisor because I was getting woken up to EVERY rev of EVERY car outside. have you guys not heard of double glazing? no way is that worth 1k a night for no sleep for a family with kids. sofa bed was like sleeping on a rollercoaster. the bath tub was patched up like Frankenstein. the AC made a noise that scared the children in the middle of the night every time it came on. no blackout blinds in living room. how is this hotel advertising as a 5*? living in its previous glory. I’m we travelled both luxury and budget and there are 3* hotels in Europe where I’d get better sleep. quite possibly the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in recent times and certainly with the kids.

Very nice facility

Despite having pre-paid for the room and having a confirmation number, the front desk staff could not find my reservation and did very little to help. They made me wait for several hours, then set me up with a temporary room. While I was out of the room, I was locked out and checked out. Then a new front desk staff told me that my original reservation was a “no show”. I missed an important work meeting while trying to access my room. No apology was provided. I was told to call Booking.com if I needed help.

after spending time in America until we arrived I have to say i found the stay at this hotel less than satisfactory.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful location. The staff were very friendly and the in-room dining experience was exceptional.

The facility was close to shopping and the beach. The facility was clean. The staff was excellent.

The carpet in the hallways needs to be updated. My bathroom tub had a crack in it that seemed to have been attempted to be repaired.

rooms are clean, nice location, lobby has a bar and coffee shop and brunch spot. pool nice but crowded a d not sunny.

elevators broken for our entire 4 day trip, had to use only 2 ugly smelly freight elevators. housekeeping didn’t come until 4 pm. but worst of all we changed room bc outdoor bar so NOISY and they double billed my chase account and won’t credit me back $6k until 5 business days, literally wiping out my account. they gave me some paltry resort fee credits! DO NOT STAY HERE not as good as years before.

Overpriced and out of date. However the staff were nice. We were given an upgrade however the room was so basic I dread to think what the original room would have been like.

So over priced for the standard. A very out of date hotel. The roofs in the restaurant were leaking over our table so we couldn’t have dinner. The elevators were out of service for our entire stay. The rooms were not clean and our bed sheets were ripped. So disappointed.
