The pool bar and jacuzzi area. Great service, view and cocktails.

Beautiful decorating in lobby and by pool. Gorgeous lobby artwork and spectacular fish art installation playing on the ceiling on the outdoor bar.
We booked a room with ocean side view and it was not ready at the time of checkin. Instead of waiting for our room, checkin advised that we could be moved to the towers and suggested it was lovely and would not disappoint. I asked about the view and was advised not to worry, I would not be disappointed, which made be feel comfortable about the change so we agreed. When we got to the room, the view was disastrous and disappointing consisting of industrial pipes and roof equipment. The hall to our room in “towers” were through open air passages and smelled of sewage the entire stay. The heat in the room did not work and it was freezing. The open air sewage passageway to the lobby was freezing since it was mostly outside. We did not get offered any cost reduced for downgrade to the towers due to our room not being ready. I am not the type to ask for the refund, so I just let it go. Friends were also forced to pay an exorbitant valet fee for coming leaving their car parked outside briefly while walking us in and then leaving. Recommendation’s, stay away from the tower.

Hotel and stay was fantastic
I have a confirmation from booking.com stating my room was prepaid for. Apparently this was not the case. The hotel manager sent my invoice to accounting for review and said I would receive an updated invoice when resolution is reached (since I was going to be flying all day and would not be able to accept phone calls). I did receive an updated invoice, but now I have been charged TWICE for the stay, and no pending refund for the first invoice I took to the manager. The front desk staff have not been helpful since I have been home and keep giving me conflicting information that does not match my stay.

It definitely has a resort “on vacation “ type of feel. Staff was very helpful. They upgraded my room. The bar was a great place to chill out before going out to dinner.
The walls are a little thin. I was kind of surprised with this particular feature, but it did not bother me at all.

I requested an upper room, with at least partial view. I paid extra. They basically put me in the basement in the far corner. I didn’t get what I paid for. I think if I would have not upgraded I would have ended up maybe in the same place.
They made it difficult to go out to my car in the valet parking and get a few things I had left in there. I should have at least been able to go to my car without having to tip to get a shopping bag or extra shoes.

They charge $ 45.00 per day facility fee if you want it or not. The option for the service is presented at check in and we declined. We still got charged and we never used any of the facility percs.

Absolutely loved the newly renovated VEA hotel love the location love all the finishes the rooms are beautiful the hotel itself outstanding
It seems to me that all of the staff require training and customer service. That’s the only thing missing from this hotel the lack of customer service standards. The standards were very poor staff did not know how to address guests were impolite and had no manners the only member staff who is pleasant professional with outstanding customer service skills was a server at the view restaurant named Freddy as well as all of the valet staff. The managers and servers of the restaurant could benefit from customer service training.

Put us a million miles from the lobby in the sky tower because it was a booking room. It was a hike.

We reserved a Room with King size bed overlooking the pool, golf course and ocean view and the view was fantastic. The room was not so big, but it was fine. The hotel is located right across fashion island with so many nice restaurants to explore. The big pool with the edge bar is great. Overall rating of this hotel is fantastic and recommended. We are looking forward to going back again soon.
