The staff was friendly and the room was nice. The best part for us was the location as it was within a 10 minute drive to both the San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld.

The parking was a bit snug, especially since there were some big pickup trucks.

Planned water main repair by City of San Diego water utility meant water was shut off to the hotel property from 9PM to 6AM on the night we stayed there. Ugh. While it was obvious the hotel management knew of this planned utility maintenance, they did not tell us until I saw a sign on the front desk while checking in, saying water would be shut off. By now, it was too late to change our reservation. We would NOT have stayed at this hotel if we knew of this situation. If I hadn't asked the question (after reading the small sign) would they have informed me?! This meant we had to bring our entire party back to the hotel by 8PM to shower, brush teeth and use the toilets. (NO water would be available for anything for nine hours.) It effectively meant we were all in bed shortly after 9PM. That was not what younger adults of our party wanted to do. They live in Canada, had never visited San Diego before, so they wanted to stay out later. Wasn't happening after you brush your teeth! THEN, at 5:45AM, the complex's fire alarm system went off and stayed on for 25 minutes! ALL guests were awakened and stood around in parking lot, waiting for the lone night desk manager, who had no idea how to turn it off, struggling to find master switch for the ear-piercing fire alarm. In the parking lot, I talked to a City of San Diego maintenance worker who said this alarm is a safety precaution when water was turned back on. He said the alarm should not have stayed on, that the hotel owner/management should tell their staff where the master switch is. UGH. In other words, the management of this hotel shirked their duty to train the staff. They should have known this was procedure when water was turned on and off. VERY FRUSTRATING. The last straw - the hotel pool was advertised as heated. We CHOSE this hotel because of that. The six year old in our party, from Canada, wanted to swim on her California vacation and the pool was NOT heated.

I loved the clean room. The staff was gentle and prompt to support. It was close to Old Town San Diego historic park and it was actually quite quiet. I would recommend it and I surely would come back.

The breakfast could have options of cheese and ham.

Quaint older comfy hotel with nice pool surrounded by lush tropical plants. Nice breakfast room with cereals, toast, yogurt, boiled eggs, waffle maker. 10 min walk to Old Town.

Rooms are smaller, outdated furniture, but good value, nice pool & convenient to public transit & Old Town.

Accueil agréable et personnel très sympathique. Nous avions réservé 3 nuits et comme c'était top nous avons passé une nuit de plus. En cette fin janvier 2024 la température extérieure de 24°nous a permis de profiter de la piscine .Motel très bien situé, à 5 mn à pied de Old Town city où il y a resto sympa, animations, shop. A 8mn en voiture de little Italie. Je recommande ce Motel.

Prévoir des bouchons d' oreilles car le train est tout près mais nous avons tout de même passé de bonnes nuits.

It was close to all freeways and Old Town. The continental breakfast was excellent!

Nice clean room with great setup. We liked the decor and the outside is nice as well with the excellent gardening.

Friendly staffs. Complimentary breakfast with a waffle station. The room is a little dated but it’s clean. And unlike most hotels, the shower curtains in the bathroom doesn’t smell! I feel like most hotels doesn’t get this right (even the higher end ones) so I appreciate this tiny detail.

It’s pretty noisy due to the location. I had my ear plugs with me so that helped a fair bit.

Loved the healthy morning option of steel cut oats, fruit, and coffee. Thank you!

Very good 60's era motel upgraded over time and beautiful So Cal landscaping. Great general location- close/walkable to Old Town and freeway access. Rooms reasonable size, bathroom immaculately clean. Desk staff most helpful. Very clean breakfast room and good carb choices at breakfast. Pool was a surprise- small, intimate and NO ONE THERE! I loathe the noisy kid pool, and this was different at our stay.

The location is in the middle of freeways and industrial area as well as Old Town. A lot of highway noise outside, but with ac unit on, quiet enough inside. The breakfast was generous carbs of nice bagels, the pancake/waffle machine, pastries, but no protein except yogurt and hard boiled eggs.

The staff is lovely. Breakfast is good and provided for an extended period. The location is conveniently close to the old town and not so far from the city center. Thank you for the hosting!

It is worth noting that the motel is located close to a busy road and train tracks. Therefore, it’s advisable to remember to pack earplugs. Furthermore, I have a suggestion: it would be great if the motel could offer room options without carpets, especially considering its pet-friendly policy.

The hotel is off by itself. There are no surrounding hotels, restaurants or businesses. You have to cross a very wide and busy street to get to the transit station and Old Town.

The hotel room was spotless. Friendly staff made us feel like the most important guests! The pool was clean and heated. Breakfast, continental style, had perfect waffles. We felt right at home! I will only stay here in the future.

ice machine was down by room 250, had to walk across hotel to get ice no big deal would have been nice to have an out of order sign.
