The property is beautiful and well maintained.

The late check-in (4 pm) and early check-out times (10 am) kept us from fully enjoying our one-night stay. The amenities seem wonderful (the restaurant and pool), but we stayed on a Thursday, and the restaurant is closed during the week. The pool closes at 6 pm and is supposed to open at 8 am, but when we asked about it at 8:30 am, we were told that the pool would not open until it was cleaned. Who knows when that would be? The staff were nice but didn’t seem to know how to offer resort-quality service. The housekeeper was knocking on doors at 9:15 when surely there were not more than 4 or 5 guests on the entire property.

The resort is located in a very pleasant nature area, farther from the traffic of the city. The garden and especially the building is beautiful inside and out - no complaints there. The room is spacious, clean, and well-kept. We found everything in order. Staff members were also very helpful and kind. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Noisy. The ice machine located next to the rooms can be heard quite well since the doors do not cancel noises at all. Same goes for ongoing traffic in the corridors and people chatting in the lobby or near the reception area. Unfortunately this is also true for the outside area near the house: the AC and ice machines are loud enough to be heard from quite a distance. An extra small detail was the lack of dining options - we didn't know that the restaurant would not be open during our stay (this might have been our oversight though)

Beautiful room, with porch. Walked right out back to beautiful grounds, down to dock. It was lovely, would have liked to stay longer. We only stayed one night, we were there for my sons graduation.

Beautiful historic inn, wonderfully decorated in a quiet area of the Chesapeake Bay. We were celebrating our anniversary and we were graciously received by the staff who provided us with a complementary bottle of champagne.

I was not told until AFTER booking that the inn was in the process of being renovated. I was disappointed to find many of the amenities unavailable (fire places, restaurant, sitting rooms) and seemed to have been left alone overnight; we could not tell if security was available as no other vehicles seemed to be in the premises. The upper floors, apparently, had already been stripped of furniture and areas of the building we no longer accessible. The staff did become available the next morning.
