Enjoyed our stay here! Had everything we needed. Clean and close to beach and everything.

With 2 pets and several elder adults, this was a great spot for a vacation. Access to the beach was awesome, and the house was perfect. Will definitely keep this on our list of places to stay in the future.

We greatly enjoyed our time on the island. First time staying at the Sandbar. The house is in great shape and the master bed is awesome and super comfortable. The views from the crows nest are amazing and you can spend hours looking at the the pelicans diving for dinner from the decks. Even saw some dauphins. The weather was perfect.

The house was perfect location! Everything we needed was in the house including beach towels, games for the family and plenty of space.
Cleanliness rated 3 star because the couches need to be replaced. They had a terrible order. Take out the couch issue and I would rate it 5 stars.

We had a wonderful time and no issues at all with the property. We received a text prior to arrival to let us know the ice maker was not working and was able to buy ice before we arrived.

We loved the Sandbar! The accommodations were exactly what we had hoped for. There were plenty of linens and beach towels. The kitchen was stocked with plates, cups, silverware, cooking utensils, pots and pans. We grilled out one night and the grill was in good working condition. There was plenty of space for everyone. The porch and the crow’s nest were favorite places to hang out and enjoy the sea breeze as well as see some beautiful sunsets. We were literally 30 seconds from the beach which was not crowded at all when we went (end of July). My teens enjoyed fishing from the beach. I highly recommend to hit a grocery store before you get to the island. We ate at the Reel Deal and Pirates Pizza- both were great. Definitely need a car or golf cart to get to and from the property if you want to grab food or get supplies. We will definitely be coming back!

This was our third visit back to the island, but first at this property. The kids (ages 5-15) have dubbed this house “the absolute coolest” because of the crow’s nest! We were 100% pleased with the quality of the house and our stay! The location was perfect, and the beach was so beautiful. We can’t wait to come and stay again!

This was our first time to Dauphin Island. The home and Island were great. We will be looking to stay again at The Sandbar unless we need bigger accommodations. The 4-star rating is for only a few minor things and should not be deal breakers.

We stayed in this home last year and again this past 2 weeks. The floors in at least 2 spots are sinking. The ice maker in the frig didn’t work. Some of the kitchen equipment needs replacing.The bedroom door didn’t stay closed. Otherwise the house is in a great location to the beach. Beach is awsome. Dogs are welcome. Beds are comfortable. Bring toilet paper dish soap,laundry soap , and ice.

Overall enjoyed our stay. The deck was awesome. The swing a big plus. Location was really nice. I liked being close to Sunset Beach, such a great place on the bay side to walk.

We have been here two years in a row. It's very relaxing for the family and even our dog Bear. We are thinking about booking it again for next year. The staff members that I met were very nice and friendly and helpful. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Don't stay here. I want it all to myself
The entrance door does not lock properly.
It might need some lock oil in the key hole.
You need to giggle the key back and forth for a minute
and maybe, it will lock.

Super place to stay, the house was well equipped and the beach was close and amazing. Plenty of places to eat and lots of time to relax. Hope to come back again soon!

2nd and 3rd bedrooms require new mattress pads, linens, pillows and sheets.
Ample seating but all (12) throw pillows require cleaning / replacement.
Towels galore! 8 new beach towels, plenty of bath towels for our party of 7.
Bring laundry detergent and dishwasher soap.. you'll use 'em.
Definitely stop at Walmart in Mobile on your way in and stock up.. or you'll drive back 45 minutes on day 2.
Ship & Shore is well stocked but it's Island pricing.
Limited restaurant options and they're overwhelmed!
Call days in advance for larger party reservations or wait 2hrs to be seated.
Come prepared to kick back and relax, a very low key beach getaway.

Daulphin Island Spring Break
Our family spent spring break at the Sandbar on Dauphin Island, the house was very nice worked well for our family. Very close to a gorgeous beach that stretched forever. Short walk to the canals. We enjoyed fishing and sitting on the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location...easy access to beach
This was our first time visiting Dauphin Island and we loved the island. We were traveling with our dog and found the island & the rental to be very pet friendly. We were happy with this rental and the property had everything we needed. The location of the property was great. We were glad we stayed so close to the beach, We would stay here again.

This house is nicely updated inside. The beach can be viewed from the front deck. Very nice local people. Perfect house for a family with dogs vacation!
The only thing I could tell that needed an update were the stairs and sections of the deck. With lots of weathered wear.

Love this place!
It was our first time visiting Dauphin Island and we loved it! The location of the house on the island was perfect and neighbors were very friendly. One thing to note is that a new house has been built in front of this house and is not pictured in the listing. Although the new house is directly in front of this rental, there are still beautiful views of the ocean on both sides. The house had a great layout and was well supplied with bedding and cookware, etc. We will definitely stay here again!
