Having an Italian restaurant on site is perfect if you just want to walk down stairs and have some nice food and a beer!
Pillows were very hard

Great place. In the middle of the old town. Keeping antiquity and comfort in an old house. Unfortunately, breakfast was not provided/included. Perfectly solved provision of coffee - machine. A symbolic fee of 2 euros for any drink.
We had a big problem getting the invoice to the company. Immediately - the staff refused because they were busy in the restaurant. He promised to send it by e-mail. I had to write all week - to request an invoice. I had to write five emails. Only after complaining to Booking did we finally get it.
The idea that landlords are not very desirable is overwhelming. And especially those coming on business - who need an invoice. Their business is a restaurant - it is the main focus. I do not recommend staying at this hotel if you are coming for business.

The rooms are very cosy.
Bathroom new and clean.
Good restaurant at the ground floor.
Professional coffee machine in the hall.
No breakfast provided.
Stairs to reach the rooms are quite steep, not for people that are less mobile.

A clean but simple room with a modern bathroom. The host was kind and helped us finding a parking spot. We visited only for one night while cityhopping.
Our room smelled bad when whe arrived, but this was easily fixed by opening a window. Also, the coffee machine in the hallway was really loud.
Furthermore, we added the option for a parking spot within our booking, but no spots were available at the property. Instead we had to park at the side of the road near the hotel.

+ Almost at the city center
+ Renewed bathroom.
+ Clean and warm room.
+ Helpful staff
+ Complimentary drinks in the fridge.
+ Restaurant below is nice and tasty.
+ Even they don’t have a breakfast room they are serving breakfast to your room from the bakery next door if you request it a day before until 21:00 upon extra cost.
- There is no separate reception besides the restaurant.
- From the entrance you have to take the steep staircase which is pretty difficult to carry your luggage.

The location cannot be matched. It is easy walking distance to the train, bus, and the pedestrian area in Hilden where there were restaurants. The restaurant on site is wonderful, and the staff were so nice. Staff was extremely accommodating. The bathroom was small, but it was newly renovated and very nice. We were there for a wedding, and could walk to the church. Very small European hotel with some quirks, but I would stay again. I liked it.
All rooms need air conditioning. I booked a room, but it ended up not having air conditioning, and it was really hot. Apparently some rooms have A/C and some don't. The bed was quite hard, and was 2 beds put together, so there was a gap in the middle. The pillows were awful - bring your own! The steep curving stairs are difficult to navigate, but the staff is helpful to carry bags. Not handicapped accessible.

The place was great, though there is renovation going there, should be done in a few days. But, guys were super nice, the noise wasn't that bad and all in all, it was a good experience. Free coffee is also a good addition.
There was no breakfast, but only due to renovation. Parking is also challenging in that area.

Very nice rooms and neat and tidy. Love the old features which gave it an elegant look.
Room size was fine, bathroom was adequate. Could have made the bathroom slightly larger and used some of the large entrance space.
We were not warned before hand it was a building site due to refurbishment of the downstairs. On arrival it looked closed and the builders were making noise and LOTS of dust (meaning the rooms smelled of dust too, even though they were clean and neat) We just were unlucky we were there before it was finished. But not nice getting this sprung on us. Booking.com should have warned clients !!! We also had asked beforehand if on arrival we could eat in the hotel...they did say "yes"... which was of course not possible as it was a building site and the restaurant was torn up.

The free coffeemachine in the hallway. Easy check-in.
I was surprised to find the place/restaurant closed and with a lot of buildingmaterials outside. For a while I thought it was a scam. Wish the photos and adverticement was upgraded so we knew we just had to get the key from a keybox and noone would be there in a reception.

Its not a hotel, its a house with rooms. No reception desk, no contact person, zero gastronomy. All house during renovation, should be closed. 120€ per night in small Hilden its a joke.

- large, clean, modern room.
- free coffee
- We arrived at 8pm, the entry way was pitch dark and we were only able to find the key safe thanks to our mobile phone lights. A woman arriving alone in such a dark place would feel very uncomfortable.
- Stairs up to the rooms is extremely steep, difficult to manage for the elderly with luggage.
- Rain shower head was broken, water all over the place. Second hand held shower also broken, would not stay up.

Unfortunately no breakfast as they were renovating
