clean tidy and with great views
unfortunately we timed our visit to coincide with the Resturant staff being on holiday resulting in the Resturant being closed during our stay, though it made us locate some lovely restaurants in the town, which is very pretty and worth a visit and can be used as a base to visit other attractions by car

We love this hotel and have stayed here a half dozen times, every time we visit the Black Forest. It’s in a lovely spot—in the countryside but only a 15 walk to Gengenbach. Ample parking. Amazing breakfast. Friendly staff. Huge rooms with a full suite and balcony. When we stayed over Christmas we got a little Christmas bag of goodies from the staff. It’s just a wonderful place to stay at any time of year.
Not a thing.

This is a lovely, small hotel outside of the town. The owners and staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Very clean, very quiet.
It is a bit of a tough walk into town which is fine in summer but for the Christmas market a bit challenging. Perhaps a shuttle could be offered for a small fee just in the evenings, 5-8?

it's a lovely hotel on a vineyard overlooking local farms, and rhe rooms, public spaces and restaurant are modern and exceptionally nice. we very much enjoyed our stay. the breakfast was outstanding too. it was a real treat to stay in a beautifully retrofitted traditional Black Forest farm house.

Very nice modernized hotel on walking distance from Gengenbach and supermarket. Perfect location to discover the Schwarzwald and Baden wine area by food or (e)bike. There is even a bike garage to park your bike safely and recharge i.a.
The rooms in the new part are styled very well. Idem for the communal areas, terrace and bathroom (with enough space to put toiletries and a big mirror). On the second floor the rooms have a spacious private balcony and there is a shared sunbathing area with a sauna which can be used. Next to that there is a small fridge/mini bar with different glasses. The bed is perfectly fine.
The continental breakfast is very extensive. Different kinds of bread, yogurt, fruit, cereals, eggs and bacon and also knäckebröd. The sweet pastries are not homemade and often they run out. But when I asked they baked some extra. The coffee and tea are good. The juices are ok, but not freshly made.
We really recommend the menu in the restaurant, accompanied by the SH wines.
Both for dinner and vespers (bites and light food). It might be good to make a reservation in high season. On Fridays they heat up the oven outside for all kind of flammkuchen.
The restaurant and bar are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! So in the evening you will not find anyone if you need something.
In summer it gets way too hot in the rooms without any airco.
There is a mini bar in the room but no coffee or tea facilities and the reception is unattended at night.
We really find it uncomfortable and a pity all double beds only have single sheets and duvets.

The hotel (comun areas) is nice, the rooms are commun.
The hotel is nice, but when they close the restaurant, the hotel seems deserted and you can't enjoy everything you see in the photos... It's useless that the hall and the common areas are very nice. If you arrive after mid-afternoon, there is no one! It looks like an abandoned hotel and it is difficult to contact someone to enter your room: I arrived at 7:30 PM in August and I stayed 1 hour until I got the key to the room: I had to rummage through the drawers and the list of guests that I was at the counter (privacy and security of personal data? a joke!) to get the keys. With no customers to arrive, the staff went home and did not forward any phone numbers to their mobile! I called all the possible telephone numbers (reservation, web, emails, etc) and they rang at the empty reception desk itself? ? what a lack of professionalism! The next morning and to try to apologize, they gave me a bottle of wine... the cheapest they had (€6)! which makes it even clearer that there is no intention to improve. if you are going to arrive after 5 PM, go to another hotel!

Location great near Gengenbach, hotel in the wine country is at 10 minute walk from the city center. The hotel was new and the rooms were comfortable with a walk in shower and nice furnishings. Had a balcony to sit outside. Breakfast and coffee/juices were delightful.
Suggestion would be to place a nice fan that can take care of air circulation during the hot summer nights. We find that many hotels in Europe are not equipped for the warm summer nights. No fans or too small fans.

Very pretty view from the room
The room was a bit small with a tilted ceiling and it was above their restaurant so it was noisy in the evening.

Lovely hotel - very clean and comfortable. Good powerful shower. Worth paying the extra for a balcony. Nice breakfast with lots of choice - eggs to order. On the outskirts of town - approx an easy 20 min walk to restaurants. Wouldn't hesitate to return if in the area. Plenty of free parking.

Excellent breakfast. Staff was very responsive to requests. Service was very personal and we felt appreciated. Bathroom was very large by European standards.
The bed comfort wasn’t great. I wished the amenities included lotion. And facecloths.
