Not so good if we had mobility issues

The room was clean .

On the web site it stated that breakfast was £9.00 but in actual fact the staff member charged £12.00 each.the taps were very difficult to open and close, cleaning products ie. Washing up sponge should be changed with every new client. Overall ok but we had to ask for the room to be hoovered every day as we had two dogs. The rooms are not cleaned unless you ask, and the reason stated was due to covid, this should not be a problem anymore should it.

Perfect for the purpose of our visit. Only 10 minute walk into main area of Bakewell.

Location so close to the town was great, however the climb back up the hill was quite steep. The person who greeted us( didn't get his name) was lovely and very helpful and were all the team we met during our stay

The soundproofing wasn't the best so you can hear other guests moving around and talking but no major problem.

Great view of town, very close to centre of town. Plenty of parking. Very quiet and pretty location.

No good if you are not fit and have any walking issues. You will need to drive to this location. Surrounded by very steep roads and footpaths.

Lovely staff, very friendly. Room was fabulous, loads of room, very clean with all amenities provided. Faultless.

Only downside for me was the fact it was up a slight hill which I struggled with on the way back up, only because I'm asthmatic. So I would say not suitable for people with mobility or health issues.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like

The hosts were extremely welcoming and the accommodation very comfortable. Everything had been thought of in the room, especially in the kitchen area with washing up liquid, tea towel & cloths. Plates, glasses cutlery and tea/coffee/sugar/milk sachets. We ordered a cooked breakfast on our first morning which was delivered to our room & beautifully cooked, well worth the treat. The location is perfect and a short walk from the centre of Bakewell with plenty of places to eat and shops to visit. If you like walking there are some superb walks from Sleep Lodge & Chatsworth House a short distance from the town.

Bakewell is a lovely village, although to my surprise a tourist trap, particualy on a bank holiday. The village and the accommodation are very dog friendly and noticeable in the amount of happy pooches and owners browsing around the shops. The village has every amenity and beautiful buildings with stone elevations set in glorious scenery. A real gem of a village with a surprisingly good Monday Market. The accommodation is well situated to explore the village and its wider geographical setting, although on a steep incline, therefore you will need sturdy shoes to accommodate walking up and down the hill. Not a problem, for those of average fitness and young at heart.

The accommodation does suffer from noise of other holiday makers, as one's ability to suffer others is gently tested, but not too troublesome. . In all fairness the entire block checked out, (Bank Holiday) except us and the staff and so we were left in almost solitude. My only criticism of any value is that the accommodation would greatly benefit from upgraded crockery and a better selection of drinking glasses. We purchased our own mugs for hot beverages as the cups were tiny and beer drinkers will want to bring pint glasses.

Quiet, comfortable, very well equipped and very convenient to town. Particularly good to have kitchen area. Parking useful too in busy town and restricted streets.
