Apartment was spacious with good location!

Although advertised as child-friendly, based on our experience we cannot recommend Villa Lotus Penthouse by IVillamia for families travelling with children. Owing to a few stains that our children accidentally made on the white fabric couches, armchairs and benches in the kitchen, we lost over 500 euros of our deposit!!! :(. Also, due to inquisitive small fingers the numerous decorative items in the apartment will require you placing them out of reach. You may also get wrongfully accused of damaging property, as we were with cabinet pullers that were very poorly attached /glued in place and came off even with a gentle pull. So, be very aware that your deposit may be at risk, your stay might be far from relaxing, and the aftermath may take weeks. Also the host did not accept normal credit cards (Visa, MasterCard) through booking.com. Deposit had to be paid via Paypal and hotel fee through bank transfer. Also apartment does not have an air-conditioning (only fans) so the rooms can be very hot during July-August.

beautiful place, great location

the site that I booked through had my payment on file, yet before arrival I was asked to pay in cash because of the broken credit card machine, which was a little suspicious, but finally the payment was processed with no issues. AFTER my stay I was notified that my reservation will be cancelled if I don’t update the credit card as it was marked invalid.. I have no explanation for that, but the stay was great except for weird payment requests/notifications.

The iCasamia rep Tiago contacted me to know when our plane had landed, advised on how to get to Villa Lotus, and there were two people at the apartment waiting for us to show us round and give us the keys.

Villa Lotus is on a very busy street so it is quite noisy. Earplugs are provided though. At the back, south facing, the noise is much less. We actually weren't that bothered by the noise where at home we would be.

Large and convinient apartment in very good location at the center of nice. Its decorated in art novo style and was very clean . The terrace with a view to the sea is very enjoyable.

The apartment is incredibly large and beautifully furnished. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. A special plus is your own garage.

There was some inconveniences in payment process. Make sure to note that this apartment does not have air conditioning. If I had paid attention to this, I would have chosen another place. In hot days it was difficult to stay at home, sleeping at night was just a torment. During the day the house heats up and the apartment is still very hot at night. There is a fan in every room, but they did not provide any relief. We opened all the windows, but there was a busy road under the house and it was very noisy. VERY noisy both day and night. There are earplugs in the rooms. But a small child, open windows and ear plugs are incompatible. I consider environmental care should be moderately reasonable.

We stayed in Nice during the heatwave, so the absence of AC was noticeable, although using the shutters during the day and the many supplied fans did help. The apartment is beautiful - high ceilings, lovely parquet floors, period details - very belle epoque! The house is around a 10 minute walk into the port - downhill on the way, but uphill when travelling back with supplies, so it feels a bit further. Uber costs under 10 euro, so probably a good shout if you are shopping and are not driving. The hosts are excellent and the comms via WhatsApp worked really well.
