We had a great time. The house is an easy walk to the beach and has a nice deck and hangout area under the home with an outdoor shower. The back yard is big with greenery providing lots of privacy, however there are prickly thistles growing everywhere. We had to wear shoes and check the soles when we came out of the yard or we would track them into the house where they get stuck in the carpet creating a minefield. Lots of ouches! Also our dog got them stuck in her paws which made the yard pretty much unusable.

I'm always wary about a stay in an unfamiliar home that allows pets. I've experienced beach homes in the past that have that ocean musty smell, and varying degrees of cleanliness that comes with pet friendly homes. As a clean freak, I was very pleasantly surprised how clean and clean smelling the home is. The carpets and furniture are in perfect condition. The kitchen is well stocked, and the grill is a very large 4 burner. I don't believe that the listing mentioned originally, but for you fellow coffee fans, there IS a Keurig in the kitchen. The walk to the beach is quick, down the block, make a right and straight ahead a short distance to the sand. I would absolutely recommend a stay if you're a clean fanatic too. It was a great home, in a great location.

We enjoyed our visit. The house was lovely. And we appreciated that it was pet friendly. Short walk to the beach. The description states that the house has an ocean view - but that is not accurate.

We arrived to a dog urine wet carpet. The pungent odor punched us in the face when we walked in. The AC filter looked like it was not changed in over a year! We have pictures of it. Each bedroom had its own odor. One of dog one of cigarette smoke and the last urine. The bathroom floor was a dark grey.. until we wet mopped it!!! Light grey! Kitchen sink leaks, the faucet would run water across the counter and under the sink it leaks from the drain. We spent the first day cleaning calling management about the problems . Day lost!!! Dog urine on the patio curtain, no screen on the door. We couldn’t even air out the room if we wanted, cuz of the damn biting flies would come in like swarms . The yard looked really nice.. until you go to walk in it. Sand Spurs ! (Devil spikes) it got in the paws of our dogs and our feet!! Unreal , no using the back yard! Had to walk them around the block . There are more problems, however no room to add them .

House was clean and in a great location. Within a short walk you are on the beach. Loved the outdoor shower. Will book again for our next trip down.

The property was very nice and met all our expectations. the beach access was a short distance away. Only negative about the stay was when cleaning up after our dog we found four piles left by previous people, we just cleaned it up and enjoyed our vacation. We would definitely recommend this property to others and actully we already have!

We paid for early check in and the house was ready at 1:00 as promised. Upon entering, we found it to be cleaned well and nicely decorated with beachy decor. The house is in the third row and about a 7-10 minute walk to the beach. The deck is on the back of the house, and while the description said ocean views, you could only see the tiniest sliver of ocean if sitting on the left side of the deck. Otherwise, they had nice rocking chairs out there and it was an enjoyable place to spend time. Underneath the house, there was a picnic table, outdoor shower, laundry area with toilet, and an outdoor sink. There’s a big yard but our dogs couldn’t use it because there are burs that would get stuck in their paws when walking in it. It would have been nice if the yard was better maintained. We did find a bunch of nails in the driveway and we’re glad we didn’t run them over. The inside of the house was great. The air conditioning kept the house really cool, and having the king bed made things more comfortable. The carpet in the house seemed fairly new as well. We had tropical storm Elsa one day there and it would have been nice to have games to play while we were stuck inside, but there weren’t any. They did have some books and dvds though. The house is not on a busy street, so it was enjoyable to ride our bikes and walk the dogs in the neighborhood. Overall it was a very nice vacation!

Close to beach, relaxing, clean and enjoyable. A lovely indoor and outdoor space at the shore.

Stayed with a family friend and our two pups for a week. Very close to the beach. Living area was perfect for them to romp around in while relaxing. Nice kitchen area and grill. Outside deck was nice to sit with the pups while drinking coffee in the morning. Overall great stay

(Check in) Late arrival (7pm), picked up keys in drop box at main office. Awesome communication wtih CSR agents A+ (House) We were down here for a Family reunion so there were a total of 5 different pet friendly houses rented for me to compare to. It is obvious that is strictly a rental unit! Upon first entering residence we were hit with with an overpowering floral frangrance from a total of 4 plug in air fresheners. We promptly unplugged them all and opened all windows. It took 4 days with the windows open to disperse the fragrance. If you are at all sensitive to smells, stay somewhere else! The carpet looked new. Regardless we take our shoes off when we enter a house. Over the next day or two we were finding enough dark hair in the shower drain to stop it up. (Father and 2 sons all with short blonde hair). Not from us!. We were picking up (pet?) hair on our bare feet and it was maiking it into the shower over the entire week. Cleaning crew obviously needs to address this. This is the first time I have been to the OBX so maybe my expectations were a little high. But no toilet paper, papertowels, dish or dishwasher soap or scrub pads to do dishes. The 3 kitchen towels need to be thrown away. The bed in the master was on par with a fold away couch mattress. The vertical blinds in all the rooms were full of dust and there were no curtians. So sleeping in past 5 am was a not possible. We all took our beach towels and hung them over windows to get a little sleep. Like I said this was a Fam reunion so we were able to use this house to sleep and shower and that's it. The rest of the time was spent at other houses. Technically there was an Ocean view as the listing indicates. If you look between the neighbors house and the adjacent raised wood patio you can see about a1 foot sliver of water. Not a big deal, we werent here for the view. I have stayed at many rentals all over. Overall I was a little disappointed in the house. Thank goodness we had other houses to hang out at.

Nice spacious living/dining room area. We enjoyed the wet bar area. Lot's of room for our son to play. Easy walk to the beach. The house was perfect. Would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the close proximity to the beach. The house was good, plenty of room for the 2 of us. It’s Listed it as being 1 1/2 bathrooms but to get to the 2nd bathroom you need to exit the house and go down the outside stairs- just a heads up. All in all it was a nice trip

Great location, quiet street and close walk to the beach.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cocktails and Dreams. It is a nice house with a short walk to the beach. Check-in and check out was very easy and the staff was very nice, even with a large crowd upon arrival. We were thankful we could take our 12-year-old Lab with us. Something to note: as is common in Kitty Hawk, there are sticker-briars in and around the front and back yard that got stuck in her paw which made her hesitant to go in the backyard, so we walked her on the street, instead. Something to think about if you like walking barefoot or have small children and animals. Thank you for a great week of vacation.

We had a very nice stay. The house had plenty of room and the beds were comfortable. The downstairs was very nice. Short walk to the beach. We enjoyed staying here and would definitely stay here again. So far this has been our favorite beach house out of 3 we have stayed at in the past.

Liked the upper deck and lower area. The AC went out on Tuesday, we called Carolina Shores and no one came till Wednesday afternoon/evening. At this point it was 90 in the home. The repair guy though he repaired it but the next day (Thursday, day 3) the temp was rising. We called Carolina Shores again and they sent someone over to install window AC units which helped. The AC tech came and told us that the unit can not be fixed, it needed replaced. From Tues. till Thursday 3pm, we couldn't leave the house because we had our dog and were unsure of how he would react with a stranger coming into the home. We asked if we would get any kind of discount due to the AC issue and we never heard back. I feel when you pay what you do for a week at the beach and pay for AC and it doesn't work for 3 of the 7 days, you should get a discount. So to say the least, I'm disappointed.

Our family had such a wonderful time in OBX staying at Cocktails and Dreams! It was warm and inviting and was exactly what we wanted in a beach home. We all loved the open layout as we could spend time together while hanging around the house. But on the flip side, if you wanted some time alone, the rooms were very good sizes with very comfortable beds. The lower deck area was especially fun to hang out in at night when the lights were on. It was a great place to play cards and have a few beverages while the kids played with Tiki Toss (which we bought as soon as we got home, by the way). However, my personal favorite feature was the deck overlooking the ocean sunrise. You just can't replicate the feeling of having a cup of coffee in a rocker while the sun comes up. Being so close to the beach in a residential area was a huge plus. We could easily walk over when we wanted to and we didn't feel crowded out even during the holiday week. Some people may not like the fact that there isn't shopping and restaurants in a short walking distance, but everything you need is within a quick 5 minute drive. I definitely would take the quieter area over the noise and traffic any day though. For us, it was exactly what we needed. We all had such a wonderful time a look forward to making this a part of our regular vacation rotation! Thanks for a memorable stay!
