St Jean De Luz, Rare & Beautiful Sunny Beach Front Apartment (Renovated)
Diese Wohnung ist seit vielen Jahren in Familienbesitz und mit Stil und Charme eingerichtet. Wir haben gerade erst angefangen, dies zu vermieten, als wir es für Familie und Freunde aufbewahrt haben. Es ist unser zweites Zuhause, daher möchten wir, dass Gleichgesinnte es schätzen und so behandeln, wie wir es tun würden.
Es gibt drei große Schlafzimmer, eine große Küche und ein Esszimmer, ein Badezimmer, ein Duschbad mit Waschbecken und eine weitere separate Toilette.
Der Wohnbereich ist 25 Quadratmeter groß und verfügt über zwei große Fenster mit direktem Blick auf den Strand und eine große Doppeltür, die zum Balkon führt. Die Nachmittagssonne füllt das Wohnzimmer. Zwei große Sofas und zwei Sessel ermöglichen es Ihnen, das Lesen nachzuholen, und es gibt einen Fernseher, einen DVD-Player, WIFI und einen Kabelfernseher. Die Küche ist neu und enthält einen Kühlschrank, einen Backofen, einen Herd, eine Mikrowelle und einen Geschirrspüler. Sie ist in der Morgensonne gebadet und einfach wunderbar, um in der Sonne zu frühstücken und dabei auf den Hafen und die Berge zu schauen. Es gibt einen großen Esstisch für acht Personen.
Das Hauptschlafzimmer hat Bergblick mit einem Balkon und einem Doppelbett 160 cm, die Sonne scheint hier vom Morgen bis zum frühen Nachmittag herein, es gibt eine Dusche und ein Waschbecken von diesem Schlafzimmer. Das 2. Schlafzimmer hat einen wunderschönen Meerblick mit Balkon und zwei Einzelbetten und bekommt die Nachmittagssonne. Das 3. Schlafzimmer hat Meerblick mit Balkon und zwei Einzelbetten. Es gibt zwei Toiletten, von denen eine separat ist und die andere sich im Badezimmer befindet, das über eine Badewanne, eine Dusche und eine Waschmaschine verfügt. Es gibt auch Parkplätze abseits der Straße, was ein absolutes Muss ist, wenn Sie ein Auto haben. Dies ist keine Hauptstraße, daher ist die Wohnung ruhig und friedlich. Sie können das Meer aus allen Schlafzimmern plätschern hören, es ist wirklich so schön und entspannend, einzuschlafen. Das Beste an dieser Wohnung ist, dass man so leicht zum Strand gelangen kann. Lange Spaziergänge am Strand als erstes am Morgen, wenn niemand da ist, sind atemberaubend!
Die Stadt hat einen Hauptplatz, der drei Minuten zu Fuß von der Wohnung entfernt ist. Dies ist voll von Cafés und Restaurants und eignet sich perfekt für einen Morgenkaffee und das Lesen der Zeitung in der Sonne. Es gibt ein Thalassotherapie-Zentrum 5 Minuten zu Fuß von der Wohnung entfernt. Dies ist ein "Wellness-Zentrum" mit einem großen Innenwasserbereich mit Wasserstrahlen und Whirlpools. Sie bieten alles von Aqua-Aerobic bis zu Massagen und bieten sogar Entgiftungs- und Schlankheitsprogramme an.
Die Berge sind direkt hinter der Wohnung und es gibt viele Spaziergänge zu tun. Es gibt auch viele Golfplätze in der Umgebung und Saint Sebastian ist nur 30 Autominuten entfernt und es gibt einige tolle Geschäfte und einen schönen Strand.
Es gibt auch Surfclubs in der Umgebung. Anglet, Bidart und Hendaye sind bekannt für ihre Surfschulen und Strände.
Im Sommer ist der Strand von St. Jean de Luz voller Aktivitäten für Erwachsene und Kinder. Es gibt sogar ein Zentrum, in dem Sie die Kinder für den Tag absetzen können.
Die Flüge landen am Flughafen Biarritz, der 20 bis 30 Minuten von der Wohnung entfernt ist. Flüge können von London nach Biarritz mit Ryan Air genommen werden, dann ist es eine 20-minütige Taxifahrt nach St. Jean de Luz für 30-40 Euro. Es gibt auch Busse im Sommer und Winter. Der TGV-Zug kommt im Zentrum der Stadt Saint Jean de Luz an und die Wohnung ist 10 Minuten zu Fuß von hier entfernt.

The apartment is right on the beach and within a short walk of everything. It is very comfortable for a family of six.

Beachfront Charm
Location, location, location. This lovely apartment in a classic building is at one end of the Grande Plage with fabulous views of the water and sunset and of the river. It’s well appointed with a good kitchen, good books and good art, plus a piano. There is a parking space but you can walk everywhere. Helpful hosts. We had a wonderful stay.

Appartement spacieux avec une vue magnifique sur la baie de Saint Jean.
Maison de famille idéale pour accès à la plage, au pied de l'immeuble avec cependant un manque de fonctionnalité sur l'ameublement et totalité de la literie à revoir dans chaque chambre pour plus de confort.
Nécessite aussi d'être "rafraîchis", mieux aménagé et plus rangé pour les locataires.
Très bon séjour au global sur deux semaines.

Not what we expected
The location is superb at the seafront and close to the centre. That's about all we can say on the positive side.
We arrived at 14 to check in as stated in the contract only to be told that check in was at 16 hours. When inspecting the flat we were informed that the shower room couldn't be used. No information about this in advance. Two bath rooms was a critical criteria as we were two families. We soon found out that there was a constant and irritating sound from the oven which couldn't be turned off. We understood from later comments that this had been the case for considerable time. The china was chipped, the cutlery old and not fresh. The glasses were almost all of different designs. The furniture was filthy. The whole flat needed a thorough cleaning. There was no information available about anything, i.e. how to turn on the heating. As we believed the heating was turned off for the summer we experienced 15 degrees for two days before we found out how to turn on the heating.
To be fair we should mention that we were compensated to some extent for the defects and we got quick replies to all our questions.

We are family of 5 from California who settled in beautifully to this spacious apartment. The views, the breeze, the location were undoubtedly the best!
The rhythm of our day began with an early morning run along the boardwalk to the Pointe de Sainte Barbe, followed by coffee at Place Louis XIV. We shopped daily at the local Marche for fish, Jambon de Bayonne, Irouleguy, fruits, salads…all to make delicious meals in the well-supplied kitchen. Our time around the kitchen table, looking out over the port, the town of Ciboure and La Rhune, were momentous. You hear the church bells ring on the hour and watch the fishing boats come and go.
Our days were full. Filled with exploring the town, marching our children by foot, to the Fort de Socoa, and beyond to other Basque beach towns (We followed the walking path: le sentier littoral –randonne 64).
We enjoyed strolling and shopping along Rue Garat and Rue Gambetta and had a festive night celebrating le Toro de Fuego….music, confetti, and fireworks!
Our kids loved the direct access to the beach. The umbrella and beach toys were well liked and much appreciated.
As we look through our photos, we dream of returning to this special part of France. We would not hesitate to rent this apt. again. Guillaume responded to all our emails and the transfer of money was easy and our deposit returned promptly. We’d recommend this apt. to anyone.

As previous people have said, this really has to be the best location in town. Our biggest decisions revolved around which balcony to sit on for our meals and/or drinks, depending on the position of the sun. We were here for the 14th July fireworks - I doubt anybody got a better view than we did from our front balcony!
The accomodation is spacious with plenty of room for 6 people. The large range of crockery, cutlery and other kitchen equipment meant we could happily wait until the dishwasher was full before using it and there were also plenty of towels for indoor and beach use.
There was a huge basket full of play equipment for the beach (bats, balls, frisbies etc) so even with young children you would be able to fly to Biarritz with minimal luggage.
The restaurants and bars were all within 5 minutes walk, the beach is literally on the doorstep and the owners were punctual, friendly and helpful.
If you want to venture further afield for a day we would recommend a train ride to San Sebastian where your euro goes a lot further....
I was slightly apprehensive about booking directly with the owners as I had never done this before but it was so easy I will certainly use this website again. All emails I sent were swiftly responded to and the owners gave us their mobile phone numbers so we could ring if there was a problem.

My sister, I with our 3 children wanted to take a break somewhere in France with a sandy beach as close as possible to the house. We came across Guillaume's apartment and although we had never been or heard of St jean de Luz decided to take the plunge. It was the best decision we made!! St jean de luz is fantastic and the apartment was perfect for all five of us, so lovely and so much bigger than we expected! It was only a ten minute walk from the train station through the centre of town which is so quaint and picturesque. The apartment which is one of five is located in a beautiful old art deco building with windows on every side. When we got inside we realised how close we were to the beach which was a beautiful golden sandy beach just like the photos - simply stunning! We could hear the waves from every room. The kids loved it, they played football on the beach and just beside the apartment there's a wall for playing tennis which is where our two sons spent the majority of their time and a playground for little ones just close by too - where me and my 6 year old spent most of our time! We were so lucky with the weather...we had five days of around 27 degrees in April!
The apartment was bright, clean and homely with everything you would need for your stay. The bedrooms were nice and tidy and the views from each one were amazing. The beds were comfortable and the deco very French! The bathrooms were new and clean. It was interesting trying to figure out French Television but we found a couple of English channels and there was good wifi in every room.There is a lovely big kitchen area for cooking and eating in. We had great fun buying fresh fish veggies and cheese from the market then cooking back at the apartment. The French bakeries are amazing too plus all the basque deli treats you can buy are so good. The shops where great but we couldn't get used to things closing from 12-3pm.
We loved the church in the main street, it's so beautiful and the little train tour was a great way for us to get acquainted with the area.
Penelope and Guillaume were so helpful and it was easy to organise.
We really had a very special time in St jean de Luz. It's a beautiful and easy town to get around in. We are so glad we choose to go here, it's great for adults and great for kids. Thanks again Penelope and Guillaume, we really had a fantastic and very memorable time and would thoroughly recommend the apartment and St jean de Luz to anyone.

We had the pleasure of staying at this apartment in St Jean de Luz for 10 days in April. My wife and I had heard about the spa (Thalasso Helianthal) in St Jean de luz and we wanted to explore the Basque region. The apartment is so well placed, right on the beach and just a short walk from the charming town, plus the spa was only 5 minutes walk away. Spa was fantastic, we went most days from 5pm, this is a must!! The apartment was great, very clean and bright and they have just done up the bathrooms so that was a lovely surprise, plus having the parking space was such a bonus too. The apartment has sun all day, in the kitchen in the morning and in the living room the afternoon.
Fred who met us at the apartment was really helpful and spoke fantastic English which was handy as our French was rusty! The apartment is well equipped with everything you need. It is lovely and spacious and having breakfast in the morning over looking the port with the windows open and the sun pouring in was just magic. The kitchen had everything you need to cook a banquet, but we did eat out a lot as there are so many amazing restaurants just a moment from the apartment. We had friends stay for a long weekend and there was plenty of room. It really was such a lovely spacious and calm place to unwind. Hearing the sea as you fall asleep is so peaceful, we slept extremely well while we were down there. Morning walks along the beach on a sunny day were the highlight, the apartment is right on the beach, it’s truly spectacular. We would happily recommend this apartment and we are definitely thinking about coming back again next year.
