We liked how welcoming all the staff were and the breakfasts are tasty. The hotel is easy to find just a couple blocks from the city center. They offer a full service bar and restaurant as well.

This is a hidden gemstone up in the highlands of northern NIcaragua. There's a lot of things to explore in the area, and it's suprisingly cool and fresh compared to the rest of the country. The hotel is very nice and they have a good restaurant with great food and cold beer. Ask for a room facing the noth, as these will be less hot in the evening. The hotel has a nice balcony where you can sip your drinks in the evening, but remeber to bring a jacket! The rooms are fine, a little bit worn as always in the tropics, but good standard and WITH HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER!! There is also free and safe parking available. San Rafael del Norte is a very safe and quiet place, all the noisy bars and retaurants are located at the etntrance of the city, far from the centre. If you plan to stay in the north for some days this is the place.

Some construction work that started before 07:00 am, with hammering in the walls and shouting from the men working. I'm a early bird, but my wife didn't appreciate it! Shoternly directed rooms get hot in the afternoon, open the windows and run the fan. I don't like the smell of desifectans that they use, but thats the same all over Latin-America. Let it be open for some hours before you go to bed.

Stayed March 2020. Fantastic staff the really try. Nice building and they are building a third floor onto it. Second floor patio to sit out on for breakfast and watch the milk horsemen go by. Clean, rooms a bit Asian/marble/80’s decor, but new and clean. 5 minute walk from square. There is parking on site. Zip lines 15-20 minute drive north.

Nothing negative. Nice spot, this is a small villiage. If you’re looking for a home stay, not it, this is a hotel.

The breakfast and other meals we’re well-prepared, hot and as delicious as it was beautiful. The scene at the window were spectacular!

This area of the country has such perfect weather they do not have top-notch water heating systems. The electric water heater attached to the showerhead works somewhat, but is sufficient at low water volumes.
