This hotel was excellent.
We received a txt early in the day telling us the room number and access code. We were also informed that their re-furbished restaurant was open that night if we wished to book. Unfortunately we already had a booking at another restaurant. I wished we had eaten there as the food at breakfast was fantastic and the restaurant we went to was not as good as we expected.
When we arrived we were met by Hannah (I think that is the correct name) and she was so lovely and helpful.
The room was beautiful, large and went out onto a large verandah looking down onto the pool and garden area.
Went for a swim in the pool and then had a nice relax on the pool lounges.
Could not find one fault and we will certainly use this hotel again.

The room was big and had everything we needed. We appreciated the fresh milk in the fridge to make tea/coffee, also the face cloths and dressing gowns. The bed was super-comfy and the continental breakfast was a nice surprise (we thought we'd booked room only!)
Check in wasn't particularly smooth as we didn't receive the text message confirming the access code to get into the hotel. We had to call the emergency contact number, after which everything got sorted very quickly, but it was slightly disconcerting when we first arrived and found we couldn't get in.
There is no lift, so make sure you are able to carry your luggage up and down stairs. This wasn't a problem for us (in our 50's and reasonably fit), but may be a problem for those who are less mobile.

The decor of the room, the size of the room and the location
One end of the room was a little dark so it could have done with a large lamp (I believe that due to the heritage listing of the building they were unable to add an additiuonal light.

Beautiful early 1900s period property. Gersch was very welcoming and helpful before, during our stay and as we were leaving. High quality products and appliances in the room, with a great bathroom and elevated veranda to relax on.

Oh what a Joy! It's a great place. Right outside the busy centre but 3min walk. Great beds, good size room, beautiful furnishings & great pool&outside.

Beautiful facilities; quiet location but close to cafes and restaurants; keyless entry to hotel and room was super convenient; excellent attention to detail; lovely pool which we had to ourselves each time.

It was a perfect stop over on our road trip to Queensland. We only had one night but could easily spend more time. It’s a comfortable historic building beautifully maintained.
Although we didn’t use the pool this visit, it looked very inviting.

Our apartment was beautifully appointed and having access to the verandah was a bonus. In room breakfast was adequate however the hotel has a breakfast/restaurant area which would allow a buffet - much better!

However, some instruction re operation of air con and ceiling fans would have been appreciated.
Also, a light blanket for summer temps.

I loved the historic building and the comfortable rooms. I loved the yoghurt and muesli provided for breakfast every day and the fresh fruit in the lobby.
I didn’t like the pillows but that is a personal preference.
