FRENCH : Ce qui est plaisant : la maison au milieu d'un très grand potager/verger et les bonnes tomates et légumes de Pietro. Les 2 grandes terrasses. Ce qui est moins plaisant : les trains très bruyants passant à 30 mètres devant la grande terrasse à toute heure mème en pleine nuit. Le spa tub mentionné dans la description qui n'existe pas de même que la bouilloire électrique. La douche très inconfortable. Les propriétaires sont très aimables ; encore merci pour le pot de miel du départ. ENGLISH : What's nice : the setting surrounded by an orchard and 2 very nice open air patios with furnitures. The good fruits and vegetables. What's less pleasant : The noisy trains running 30 yards in front of the house, even nighty. There is no spa tub as mentioned in the description and no electric kettle. The shower is not comfortable at all. The owners are very nice and Ready to answer questions.

Einmal mehr durften wir tolle Tage am Ortasee bei Pietro und Maria Grazia in der Casa Canvesa geniessen. Uns gefällt es da einfach rundum gut, darum waren wir ja auch schon zum vierten Mal da!

Siamo appena rientrati , io e i miei due pupi di 7 anni, e già ci manca tutto! Una struggente nostalgia nella sua accezione positiva ( se n'esiste una!) mitigata dal ricordo di colori, profumi, sapori, atmosfere mai dimenticate e subito ritrovate: un personale viaggio a ritroso nel tempo, un tuffo nei fanciulleschi ricordi tra ombrosi alberi di fico dal profumo inconfondibile per chi ha trascorso tra quelle foglie e quei frutti le prime indimenticabili estati della propria vita ; riaffiorano immagini di luoghi e visi mai sopite . Struggenti scene di vita familiare, riti e rituali antichi, da non dimenticare, mi hanno fatto compagnia. Profumato basilico e sanguigni pomodori ci hanno rifocillato. Calura di fine agosto mi ha riportato a familiari latitudini . Vi sono riconoscente per questo mio personale " voyage à rebours ". Pietro e Maria , in tutto questo mio intimo viaggio, non ci hanno mai fatto mancare le loro attenzioni , rendendo il soggiorno ancora più piacevole senza quella fredda e formale barriera che spesso si crea tra proprietario e ospite. Dicono che certe esperienze siano irripetibili: a noi piace sfatare i luoghi comuni. A presto! Francesco, Beatrice , Carmela e Giuseppe Sciascia .

We rented the appartement for 8 days and enjoyed every day of it. The fruit and Vegetables we got from the garden were excellent, we cooked almost every night at the house, using the products we got from the owners. It is easy to explore the surroundings by foot, the Beach, the town and the Ferry for the lake are all within a 20 min walk. The owners are excellent hosts, we highly recommend this appartment and hope to come here again.

Unser Sohn (5) hat Pietro voll ins Herz geschlossen. Wir hatten eine entspannte Zeit Dank des großen Auslaufs für die Kinder im Garten und in der großen Wohnung.

We found this a delightful place to stay the photos do not do it justice. With views over the mountains and lake from the patio a lovely spot to watch the sunset from. It is in an excellent position to explore the surrounding towns, countryside and of course Lake Orta. Pietro and Mariagave us a very friendly, warm and informative welcome. Pietro’s baskets of home grown produce (especially the figs) where most welcome. They also gave us lovely treats to come home with wine from Lake Orta and homemade fig marmalade.

We've had a wonderful holiday here. The "casa" is beautifully located and we enjoyed the view on the large balcony every day. The house is clean and had everything you need. A small beach is located within a walking distance from the house where we've been almost every day. Pietro and Maria are very kind and helpful and gave us tips about excursions in the surroundings. Pietro brought us delicious fruits and vegatables from the garden several times. There is a train lane nearby at the back of the house. We did not bother the sounds of the trains passing by sometimes. The center of Orta san Giulio is really worth visiting!

Great place to stay, handy for the lake , the little beach at Pettenasco, the super town of St Giulio and touring in the hills and valleys. Pietro and Maria are excellent generous hosts and are good at keeping the client/host balance just right. The addition of mosquito screens and an efficient fan were most welcome this year. Very highly recommended.

Wir haben uns in der Ferienwohnung schnell zu Hause gefühlt. Das lag an der schönen, gut eingerichteten Wohnung und vor allem an der Gastfreundlichkeit von Pietro und Maria Grazia. Pietro überraschte uns mehrfach mit eigenem Obst, Gemüse und mit frischen Eiern von den eigenen Hühnern, was wir sehr genossen haben. Unsere 3-jährige Tochter war fasziniert von den Hasen und Hühnern sowie vom Schlafen im Hochbett. Zum Frühstück auf dem großen Balkon haben wir uns täglich frische Brötchen vom Minimart geholt, den man bequem zu Fuß erreichen kann. Die nächtlichen Züge haben uns nicht wirklich gestört -> umdrehen, weiterschlafen.

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine chez Pietro et Maria près du lac d'Orta. La maison est idéalement placée pour se rendre au lac ou pour faire des ballades en montagne au coeur d'un verger verdoyant. L'appartement est spacieux avec une très belle terrasse idéale pour prendre le petit déjeuner et le repas du soir avec vue sur le lac et les collines environnantes. Pietro et Maria sont vraiment adorables nous donnant toutes les explications nécessaires pour rendre notre séjour agréables. En plus, Pietro nous a apporté régulièrement des fruits et des légumes de son jardin avec lesquels nous avons fait des ratatouilles et confitures délicieuses ! Vraiment un beau séjour dans une très belle région avec un accueil très chaleureux ! Philippe et Valérie

The hosts who live on site were very helpful with advice on the area and very generous with fruit and vegetables from the smallholding that the house is part of. Superbly clean and tidy, it's well looked after. For us the trains at the end of the property were no problem at all. Would definitely consider a return visit. A good experience.

Schon zum dritten Mal durften wir hier Ferien machen und haben es auch dieses Mal in vollen Zügen genossen! Unser Töchterchen (8 Jahre) will gar nirgends anders mehr hin und auch wir Erwachsenen fühlen uns hier einfach wie zuhause. Die wirklich geräumige Wohnung ist bei Antritt immer blitzblank sauber und auch bei grosser Hitze immer noch angenehm kühl. Auch der gelegentlich nachts vorbeifahrende Zug ist für uns kein Problem mehr, da wir zum Schlafen immer die Fenster zur Zugseite hin geschlossen haben und dafür die anderen Fenster offen lassen, damit wir trotzdem bei frischer Luft schlafen können. So haben wir auch hier erholsame Nächte. Sowieso dünkt es uns, dass die Züge nachts jetzt langsamer fahren, sodass wir sie wirklich kaum mehr hören. Wir kommen sicher wieder!

We loved every minute of our stay at Pietro and Maria's apartment. The property is set in a beautiful orchard and just up the hill from Orta San Giulio (it was an easy 25 min walk to the centre). The place was spotless and whilst simple, had everything you could possibly need for your stay. The terrace at the back is huge and has the most wonderful views. The highlight though had to be our hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay special, with deliveries of home grown fruit and veg from the garden (delicious) and all the information we could need for our stay. We just hope that our very basic Italian adequately communicated our appreciation! Lake Orta itself is breathtakingly beautiful and much quieter than some of the bigger lakes, this was the perfect place to base ourselves (9 nights) to explore the wider areas (including a day trip to Milan, Stresa and hiking in the Alps). We would absolutely recommend the place and the lovely hosts.

Alles wunderbar, morgens Frühstück auf der Terrasse, in 20 Minuten zu Fuß in Orta San Giulio. Einziges - aber wesentliches - Manko: Das Gebäude liegt keine 10 Meter von der Bahnlinie entfernt. Vor allem nachts treiben lange Güterzüge ihr Unwesen und stören bisweilen die Nachtruhe.

Die Besitzer der Ferienwohnung ( Maria und Pietro) sind sehr gastfreundlich . Sie haben sich liebevoll um uns gekümmert und Pietro brachte uns immer wieder Früchte aus eigenem Garten. Das Haus war gut eingerichtet mit alles drum und dran. Die Terrasse war wunderbar (vor und hinter dem Haus) mit herrlichen Aussicht. Am Abend wurde es kühler und auch die Heizung funktionierte tadellos. Wir haben unser Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können es bestens empfehlen. WLAN funktionierte am besten auf der Terasse. Als Abschied bekamen wir noch eine Flasche Wein und Kastanien.

Auch dieses Jahr haben wir uns wieder zwei Wochen in der Casa Canvesa gegönnt und wir haben es erneut sehr genossen. In den im Vergleich zu anderen Ferienwohnungen grosszügigen Räumlichkeiten und einer Küche, in der das Kochen wirklich noch Spass macht, fühlt man sich einfach wohl. Darüber hinaus mit sehr netten Vermietern, die unserer 7-jährigen Tochter so ans Herz gewachsen sind, dass sie jetzt sogar "richtig" italienisch sprechen lernen will. Einfach überaus herzliche Gastgeber, die einem immer wieder unverhofft mit allerlei Leckereien aus dem eigenen Garten verwöhnen. Und da ist auch noch das viele Grün um das Haus herum und all die Tiere, die jedes Kinderherz (und auch das der Erwachsenen) höher schlagen lassen. Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Wer Natur, Landleben und Ruhe sucht ist in diesem typisch piemontischen Landhaus goldrichtig. Mitten in einer Obstplantage, nächste Häuser 150 Meter, liegt diese super geräumige einfach eingerichtete (Küche und Bad aber fast neuwertig) top saubere Wohnung mit 2 Balkonflächen Ost und West für jede Tageszeit, grandioser Blick auf das Berpanorama des Ortasee und durch Bäume den See, mit phantastischen Sonnenuntergängen über den Bergen vom riesigen Abendbalkon aus. Die Vermieter, super nett und zuvorkommend, sprechen teils gut deutsch, und überraschen ihre Gäste immer wieder mit reichlichst frischen Obst und Gemüse aus dem Garten sodass wir an sich kaum einkaufen mussten. Der Service ist einmalig, kostenlose Endreinigung, alles da von Bettwäsche, Handtücher, Waschmaschine bis Essig und Öl, WLAN, TV - Diese Gastgeber denken immer mit, man braucht nur wenig mitbringen. Einziger klitzekleiner Wermutstropfen, liegt an kleiner einspuriger Bahnlinie. Wir haben das angesichts der Abwesenheit jeglichen Autolärms aber vernachlässigt da auch nur punktuell, dazwischen ist einfach himmlischste Ruhe. Bestimmt kommen wir wieder, für uns hat das 150 Prozent gepasst. Der Ortasee mit seinen wenigen Touristen, unglaublich sauberem Wasser und dem wunderhübschen beschaulichen Ort San Giulio ist sowieso ein Geheimtipp für stille Genießer die den Trubel eines Gardasee nicht brauchen. Volle Empfehlung für diesen Urlaubertypus.

Ideal for young families, walking distance to local shop, pub and train station. A few minutes drive from areas of interest. The hosts Pietro and Maria Grazie are perfect and very hospitable making us feel very welcome indeed. Highly recommended.

Pietro and Maria Grazia were the perfect hosts. My son loved toddling around the large garden, and looking at the chickens. My wife and I enjoyed the fresh fruit and veggies our hosts so generously supplied, cooked up and eaten outside on the terrace enjoying the balmy Italian summer. Great location. A lovely find. If you want a base to explore and he Otalan lakes from you could do far worse. We had a great family holiday made all the more so my our lovely hosts. Bob, Alex and (of course) Patrick Coles.

We happened by chance to decide to travel and stay at Lake Orta. Boy, are we very glad that we did. Pietro and Marie have provided a wonderful apartment with a large terrace , lovely views from each room and beautifully furnished. The apartment is set on the hills just above Lake Orta but within easy distance to all required facilities such as supermarket and train. The apartment is set in a beautiful little ground with little fruit trees. Highlights included just relaxing on the terrace in the late afternoon whilst watching the sun shimmer of the waters of the lake and the mounatins behind. We have been traveling through Europe for 8 months and this truly is one of the best places we stayed in , if not the best! If you want to go to see another lake , then Stresa is only 20 minutes away by car – but why bother- Lake Orta truly is a gem and staying at Pietros and marie’s apartment was wonderful.
