Good location just outside of Alnwick with ample parking

The property advertised a kitchenette with microwave and kitchenware. The kitchenette comprised only a kitchen sink, a kettle, a toaster, a small fridge and a work surface. There was no microwave or other cooking facilities and there were no plates or cutlery, etc

It was a bit basic,p no choice of items for breakfast, bit noisy at night, (I hadnt realised it was a pub)

As much as we paid for full breakfast Had 8 different foods on the plate , tomatoes not grilled or cooked ,poor sausage , bacon not crispy. Think if they cut it down to 5 items and cooked well Would be excellent 🤔

Totally adequate accommodation. A lovely friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are great, and the breakfast is excellent. The room was clean and was equipped with everything you need for a short stay. You can access the room without having to go through the pub but I recommend a cheeky beer or two, next to the open, log fire, in the bar.

Nice big room with a great view to the west of Alnwick. Bathroom and beds were clean and well maintained. The food in the pub downstairs was great - I had a Sunday roast dinner and it's one of the two or three best meals I had in England, to got with a wedding dinner in the Lake District and the fish and chips from Carlo's in Alnwick.

The biggest issue I had was mostly my own fault. Shepherd's Rest is on the edge of town, but I didn't realize when booking that it's uphill all the way from the center of town, which made it a bit difficult to get there dragging my luggage after me. If you can, take a cab or drive yourself up to the place, it'll save some stress and shoe leather.

Free parking and a fairly easy walk into Alnwick although rather a long hill to climb on the way back. I was on my own and felt safe especially when locked in my room!

Very friendly staff and locals food unbeatable top compliments to the chef absolutely everything I expected I would definitely recommend and would definitely go back

The full english was o/k.

Presentation of ceareals a box of cearels dumped on the table with a 4ltre plastic carton of milk.and a tea pot of instant coffee. On return from a day out the bed was not made no one had been in the room.Very noisy pump when flushing the toilet or having a shower,water for hand wash only warm toileteries consisted of 1 dispenser of hand soap. No chair in the bedroom only a small pouffet in the corner ,one side of a double socket not working and wardrobe door jammed. also returned after a night out and the whole establishment in darkness completely shut down this was 21:15hrs we had a key to get in. Car park is not secure

The staff were particularly welcoming and accommodating. The room was larger than expected and very comfortable.

Very noisy, the room was above the bar. First night had a live singer and 2md night korioke,.

nearly everything was broken in one way or another: - only one out of three windows could be opened (one was barred with a plank, one didn’t work) - toilet seat loose - one bed completely worn through - shower curtain fell down while used - bathtub blending broken i could go on…

Didn’t have breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good value for money and very little accommodation available in the area. Quite a long uphill walking from Alnwick town. Room OK but really needed a bit more space especially in the bathroom and a bigger sink with a plug!

Location of building and of our bedroom were right on a noisy main road. Without the window open the room would have been rather stuffy. The shower worked two days out of three. We ordered breakfast for the second morning but when we went looking for it no-one was there and everything was locked up so we found breakfast elsewhere. Apparently someone was meant to tell us that the chef was ill.
