the villa is absolutely beautiful and is newer than pictures done to a lovely standard the view out of this world amazing staff we arrived to a beautiful lunch of sweet as savouries as a surprise it was delish thank you

Little on smaller side but beautiful place and newly refurbished.

1 bathroom was a bit of a squeeze. some people may not like the drive to the villa due to tight roads

The location and the views were amazing. The swimming pool was cleaned every morning, and it was a perfect place to cool down when it got very warm. House was very clean. The owners took care of everything - from soap to face masks and disinfectant. Kitchen was fully equipped. Enough towels for everyone. There was also a washing machine that we used for our towels. Perfect destination for the girls trip. But I am sure few families would also have an amazing time here. p.s. you will need to rent a car. By the way, we visited one of the vineyards in the area and we were very happy we did so. Also, if you plan to prepare meals yourself - go to Lidl (opposite direction from the airport than accommodation), because tiny shops around the accommodation won't have all the groceries you might need.

Loved the villa and the area. Very rustic villa with a lovely pool and seating areas for eating and relaxing. As was set up in the hills had amazing views of the countryside to one side and mountains to the other. Really peaceful and relaxing and loved that we could walk to a really great traditional restaurant which was nearby. Also loved that we could pick our own eggs every morning from the resident hens and could pick our own figs and herbs from the lovely garden. There was a nice village of Gruda within about a 5 minute drive away which had everything you would need such as a couple of supermarkets, a bank, a butchers and a bakers .... had a couple of nice little bars too! Cavtat is only a 15 minute drive away and Dubrovnik about 35 minutes but best to go there by boat which you can pick up in Cavtat harbour. The nearest beach called Pasjaca Beach was amazing and a must see although you cannot go there if you are scared of heights and not good with walking as you have to climb up and down steep steps to get to, but so worth it!. Owners were lovely, they brought us lunch the first day we arrived and throughout our stay brought us grapes and fresh homemade cake. We absolutely loved our week at Villa Velaga and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an authentic, peaceful holiday in a beautiful location that is not too far from some stunning beaches and the main attractions such as Cavtat and Dubrovnik.

Loved everything but if I had to say one thing it was that there was no air conditioning in the bedrooms although we were supplied with fans which made it bearable at night.

Beautiful villa in a peaceful countryside location. Perfect for those seeking an escape from city life but close enough to Dubrovnik and Cavtat to make days out very feasible. Mariela and her husband were very welcoming and helpful hosts who were always on hand to assist with any queries. We stayed as a multigenerational family with my parents and my children and the villa was comfortable, modern and spotlessly clean. The kids loved collecting eggs in the morning from the hens and splashing in the pool. Two restaurants within walking distance (the further of which I would highly recommend). Hope to return one day.

Nothing to dislike! Off the beaten track so would advise hire of a car to make the most of your stay.
