Fantastic breakfast and really lovely rooms, with additional lounge areas, that make the whole place great value for money.

There is nothing to dislike

Very pleasant facility, spacious room and good bathroom (hot water). Internet also acceptable if you only need the basics. Cleanliness at a good level. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is secured so there are no random wanderers around, which allows you to feel comfortable. Breakfast sufficient, typical of the region, either omelette or scrambled eggs, but tasty. For one night, perfect accommodation.

The rooms on the ground floor are located right next to the parking lot and the bar, so the noise accompanies you all the time.

Fantastic service, staff was in general helpful with every request and very forthcoming. The hotel had both a restaurant and cleaning service. By far exceeded other accommodations I've tried in the country.

WiFi was quite limited on the 1st floor room. Not being able to pay by card was a logistical challenge due to the difficulties of getting cash with foreign card, even in Kenema City.

The breakfast was good and was timely. I truly enjoyed my time at the Paloma guest house. The staff members were so humble and responsible.

At room 89, I experienced some bad orders coming into the room from the bathroom. That could be a mistake from the plumbing work. Please visit.

The staff were excellent - some of the best customer service I have had in Sierra Leone. Everyone was friendly, professional, and very kind. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and all items were in working order (AC, water heater). The food was wonderful and timely, too!

There were not negative aspects to our stay. The only thing I could recommend is a sign along the main road for direction for those who have never been to the area :)

The Paloma is one of relatively few comfortable places in Kenema. The rooms are satisfactory and the food is good. The staff are all very friendly.

My main concern was the payment arrangements. Because we had booked through Booking.com, we had a 15% surcharge added to our bill, which was a large amount as I was paying for 4 colleagues. So next time we will book directly with the Paloma and not through Booking.com. I know that such surcharges are added at other hotels and guest houses in Sierra Leone. The other problem was the very unreliable credit card payment facility. My credit cards would not work in the hotel machines, so we had great difficulty trying to find the cash to pay our bill. This was both frustrating and rather stressful.
