amazing views, and great hospitality

We were travelling from Calais to the Alps and needed a quiet place about halfway in our trip to stay with our 2 dogs that was rural, peaceful and spacious. We decided to stay at Domaine du Val Bruant as it ticked all the boxes. Stephanie was an excellent host with excellent English speaking who met us at our arrival. She took the time to explain information, show us our room and cooked lovely food at dinner and breakfast. Very relaxing and great for dogs. Would return again.

The wifi is weak and phone signal poor due to location.

we ordered dinner- fab . homemade terrine pork and courgette gratin with apple pie. good selection of drinks for dinner. room charming we slept really well.

Set in large private grounds with a herd of dear and a renovated old farmhouse. Excellent home cooked food made from local products.

Stephanie is a very good helpful host! The dinner and breakfast were excellent especially her own baked bread in the morning! Perfect location in peaceful surroundings, yet very secure!

Just one slight advice re the room heating! The room was cold when we arrived although the heating did come on! In fact it got a little too warm to sleep later! So perhaps have the heat on ti warm up the room before arrival , but then turn off earlier in the evening! Would have preferred proper pillows rather than a selection of cushions for the bed!

Bautiful Landscape, wonderful building and very calm. Very nice room.

The place, run by a lovely family, is just beautiful, and the oportunity to see local wild life (deers and boars) in the parc is unique. Very comfortable and spacious room. Great breakfast, with home-made pastries.

We overlooked the possibility of eating supper in the Domaine, at the lovely "table d'hôtes" of the the family, and found out it was a big mistake. There are very few restaurant options nearby, and the closest that was open was 25 km away.

Lovely quiet location and the hosts were nice. Great to see the deer in the garden. House is nice from afar, and could be described as shabby chic. Good sized bathroom. Breakfast was OK.

Terrible beds! Very uncomfortable double bed which so bad that we both ended up with backache. Our son was on a camp bed which was uncomfortable and squeaked every time he moved and the bed itself moved. Disappointing! Too much shabby and not enough chic for our taste.

It was all fab. Stephanie was a lovely friendly host as were her family. The dinner and the location of dinner was perfect. It felt like we got a little experience of living in a French chateau. The kids loved the zip line!!

Lovely farmhouse set in a beautiful location. Dinner on the terrace watching the deer feed was amazing. Breakfast was excellent, with freshly baked brioche & homemade preserves. This is our 3rd stay & I expect we will be back again

One sleeping room for the whole family. Children bed well protected against falling out. Good breakfast too.

This was our second stay at Domaine du Val Bruant .We stayed on our way to and from the south of France .It is an ideal location about 15 minutes from the motorway and a nice distance from Calais . The hosts are very friendly and we had two lovely evening meals that we booked with them prior to arrival . You can also buy some lovely beers and wine and sit in the pleasant garden and watch the deer that roam freely from the forest into the garden which is very large .They have some good play equipment for children in the garden including a zip wire ,football goals and a small swimming pool .Our room was very comfortable with a comfy bed . We would definitely stay here again on our way through France .

Very spacious apartment, clean and full of country charm! Big garden with zip line & deers (yes, DEERS!). Night was clear and I have never ever seen so many stars in the sky! Hostess cooked a delicious breakfast - highly recommended!

Very quiet and rustic. Homely and welcoming. We had dinner sitting watching the deer - excellent dinner and breakfast.
