Clean, nice view, good facilities on site. Great communication from owners

The perfect spot for our first trip to New Zealand! We decided to spend a couple of nights in Rotorua in between our stays in Auckland and Wellington. Not only was Rotorua a beautiful area, but this property was perfect for our family of four. Cynthia and Joe were welcoming, communicative hosts, the chalet was beautiful and the property was stunning. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer. Thank you!!

This is the cutest house. The setting on the lake inspired many early morning walks to the lake front for pictures of the sunrise, the black swans and other shore birds. The owners have taken a lot of thought and care to make our stay comfortable and peaceful. We were gifted coffee, a bottle of wine, snacks and everything was there to make our trip easy and comfortable. It was a lovely home, in a magical setting that made day trips easy. If you visit the Rotorua area, stay here. You’ll never want to leave.

The Gemini is an amazing property!! I’ve been to several countries and stayed in many rental properties. This was a one of a kind! It felt like we were at a resort. There were many on property activities to do from swimming to kayaking. It was nice to have it all included. The owners were great to work with, answered all of our questions and were extremely accommodating. If I ever return to New Zealand, I will definitely stay here!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Very clean and tidy. There was lots to do around the property, we would love to come back with the kids for our next holiday and stay a bit longer!

We've stayed at many, many VRBOs over the years and boy did we feel like we hit the jackpot here. Absolutely gorgeous location and the most charming little house facing the lake. Super clean, comfortable and updated home with everything you could need in a well stocked kitchen. Beautiful pool, gym area and hot tub. We enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the lake very much, that was a big bonus for us. There was also a barbeque/fire pit area available. Owners very friendly and property immaculate. They had a fantastic binder prepared with area attractions, restaurants, property information, etc. Very well thought out. If NZ wasn't so far away from our home in the US we would be back every summer and stay longer!

This was an unforgettable experience. So much more than just accommodation. Lovely open space for kids. Enjoyed the kayaks, the pool and the spa. This is a MUST stay. We'll be back.

Everything was very easy. Joe and Cynthia were fantastic hosts- were there if we needed, but gave us privacy. The lodge was really spacious and had everything you needed, including some very kind welcome gifts. The shared outdoor space was incredible with a beautiful pool, hot tub and views!

The property is one of a kind. The pool and spa were essential to keeping everyone entertained, and worn out at the end of the day, also great for soothing sore muscles after a day on the skis. We had a great stay, very clean and tidy chalet, all the comforts of home - Great value.

This premium chalet sits on a large gated property with multiple homes. The location is very convenient to many great and must-do activities: Redwoods Tree Walk, Mitai Maori Village, Geothermal wonders (Waimangu Volcanic Valley, Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland), Huka Falls, Lake Taupo, Skyline Rotorua/luge. You have access to a shared hot tub (although we never had to share) with a beautiful view of the lake. Joe and Cynthia were great hosts. The wine and snacks were highly appreciated! House was remarkably clean, and we would definitely choose to stay here again.

We enjoyed every detailed of the property. We enjoyed the views and the quietness of the place. Joe and his daughter showed us around upon arrival. We came to rest and relax and that's what we did for 4 days. Spa was a hit, specially in early spring. The property was safe for our 2 children, and they had a blast at the playground onsite. On a side note, we like cooking and we were a bit disappointed to find that the cooking pans had rust. This shouldn't put you off though as I am certain this must be already fixed by now. We will definitely be back !

The house its self was warm and inviting and fitted everything we need and made for a very comfortable stay. The overall location was 10/10 providing lots of activities and fun to have over the weekend, wish tho that we couldve stay longer to experience everything👍

Gemini Lodge is situated right on the edge of Lake Rotorua. The views from the lodge are amazing, and the mature trees that surround the property added a special feeling and provided homes for many birds! Lovely to wake up the bird song and the rustling of the the wind in the trees.

We were friends who were in need of a great weekend away. This exceeded our expectations and we look forward to returning soon Thanks Cynthia and Joe

Absolutely gorgeous spot, regardless of the wet weather we had a fabulous time and look forward to returning on a sunny weekend to make the most of all the property has to offer. Fabulous hosts!

We had a fantastic three days staying here and made full use of the facilities on offer. The kids loved taking the kayaks out onto the lake, playing basketball and using the pool. A great location for zipling and the luge. The property was clean and tidy with some lovely extra touches such as some food and drinks on arrival, which is always useful when travelling with kids. Would definitely stay again

Great experience couldn't ask for much better

Amazing host. Boys enjoyed the pool, hot tub, basketball hoop and playing spotlight with their children. I was able to relax while the boys played outside. Lit the fire pit for the boys too. Awesome stay.

The property was comfortable and clean. Everything one could possibly need was provided. Communication with and support from the owners was excellent. What makes this one stand out above the rest is the location right by the lake as well as the wonderful kid friendly amenities such as the playground, trampoline, hot tub, pool, fire pit and last but not least the friendliest bunny we have ever met.

Awesome experience

Highly recommend this place! We were three friends traveling for a weekend getaway and it was absolutely perfect. Idyllic location by the lake, quiet yet accessible to everything with supermarket and town only a short drive away. We loved the chalet with its beautiful rooms and comfortable bedding. Great amenities, and so many options for outdoors - tables, chairs, the spa cabana (which we spent hours in!), walks along the lake, the pool (freezing at this time of year but beautiful, and perfect for a brisk plunge). Only thing we struggled with was the small couch, with no other lounge furniture. But this was minor overall. Would definitely stay again!

Joe and Cynthia were brilliant hosts ready to help or answer any of our questions. Our only regret is not being able to take the boat trip Joe offered which we had to decline due to problems with our flights. The property is huge with free access to a lovely outside room with excellent spa, exercise machines and gathering space, which looks out on the lake only a few metres away. The accommodation is clean and kitchen well equipped. Any negatives? Not really but we were 4 adults which was fine, although we would have appreciated another comfy chair in the kitchen area when watching a film on the TV late evening - since the sofa was really best for three. (I bought chair down from upstairs). No worries as really the property is all about the brilliant outside space which we loved. We would definitely come back again!
