It was both romantic and secluded. Cake was really good and everything you need is in the cabin. We really enjoyed our stay.

The bed was a bit short. If you are taller then 1.90m you'll probably not fit.

Great location and Shepherds Hut. Ruth and her husband were very welcoming. The hut is very clean and well set up. A hamper for breakfast is provided with local food. Fresh bread, eggs handmade cake, hame made jam & fresh local milk. Definitely a great setting for a runny egg sandwich for breakfast and cake and tea for the afternoon. The log burner really helps to keep the hut warm in the winter. Our first night we added some logs to keep the heat in during the night. Unfortunately it then made us too hot, so we had the windows open to cool down. We learnt the second night, not to add more wood befire bed. Local pub 25min walk through the fields.

Water boiler struggled with heating water, we put this down too the temperature outside being very cold.

It’s difficult to find at night. pin on app says it’s by the main road but it’s at the top of the lane. would recommend directions to say… come to the end of the lane until you reach a gate you can’t get past and turn left into car park. shower didn’t work.

Several of the listed facilities were not there (WiFi, shower gel, shampoo) Narrow lane to approach the property, not a big deal but good to be aware

1) quiet rural location 2) pretty decor 3) cooking facilities available 4) plenty of blankets, would have been very cosy in cool weather 5) easy access to Bath and Bradford-on-Avon

1) my visit coincided with a heatwave and the interior of the hut became very hot; the windows are very small and there was no effective method of cooling it down, not even a basic fan 2) some noise from the fridge (intermittent rather than constant, so more difficult to tune out) 3) the locking mechanism on the entry gate to the yard punctured one of my tyres 4) no wi-fi in the hut

The Shepherds hut was perfect for our weekend visiting our son at Bath Uni. The location was so quiet and secluded but in between Bath and Trowbridge so plenty of shops and restaurants a short drive away. We didnt get a chance to try to local pubs/restaurants but will do when we return! The welcome basket was filled with treats, and local fresh produce so we didnt even need to shop!

The weather was disappointing when we stayed but the hosts cant be blamed for that!

I loved the fact that it is quite isolated which is absolutely great if you are looking for peace and quiet. Away from everything and so cosy! Great time to be by yourself and relax, away from the bustle of your every day routine. Breakfast was left in a lovely picnic basket, with a homemade orange and almond cake, which was delicious. Fresh eggs, bread, biscuits, orange juice, milk and marshmallows for the fire. Definitely recommend the Shepherd Hut for anyone who wants to get away from it all. What a relaxing weekend! Will definitely return. Many thanks Ruth for your warm welcome and for making my stay very enjoyable.

Idyllic, peaceful and tranquil accommodation to be staying in.. with only a short drive to local supermarkets and fuel stations. Shepherds hut was unlike any other accommodation we've booked. Attention to every detail was lovingly put in place with the additional locally produced and homemade food basket supplied for us. It was clean and surprisingly more spacious and comfortable than we'd imagined. It was fully equipped with everything you need and the additional use of a bbq outside,was most welcomed. Our hosts left us to it. We'd met them breifly on our way back to our car, to go home. You really do feel like your time there is your very own to enjoy.

Spotlessly clean with nice touches. A thoughtful welcome basket with delicious fresh bread, homemade cake, jam also shortbreads. Fresh eggs.. Guernsey milk, orange juice and butter in fridge.Tea coffee hot chocolate. Also a coffee machine with pods provided. Tea towel Heated towel rail in bathroom, towels provided. Fire pit, Amazing sunsets. Log burner that didnt take long to heat up at all.

Everything was to a very high standard plus a lovely welcoming basket with lots of fresh eggs ,cake , jersey milk and homemade jam all of which was delicious 😋

The hut is absolutely perfect! Fully equipped with absolutely everything you need from being indoors to outdoors! Included a cute welcome hamper with homemade cake, bread and even some marshmallows for the fire pit 🥰🙌🏻 Everything was perfectly clean, towels lovely and fluffy, bedding so fresh and comfy and the shower was a lot more powerful & hot than we were expecting! 🤣🙌🏻 Loved the little home comforts like the radio, outdoor blankets & cushions for the outdoor seating around the fire pit, metal sticks for toasting the marshmallows, candle lit lanterns etc…just perfect! The hut and surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful, it was an absolute pleasure to stay here for my wife’s birthday get away. Close to local walks & beautiful villages. Driving distance to Bath - beautiful and a must to visit the Roman Baths!! & Bradford on Avon - again so gorgeous and we had a lovely massage at the Vitality Day Spa….Highly recommended! 🙌🏻

We needed a break from the busy city life and constant noise. The moment we stepped into the hut and opened the windows we knew we chose the right place. We fell in love with the sound of the sheep in the morning and loved walking past the gate where they resided. It was a picture perfect location even though the weather wasn’t always on our side.

We were a little bit confused by the breakfast arrangements as there was no breakfast per se but rather a basket with local produces provided on the day of arrival. It lasted a long way so no harm done, just not what we expected. Will definitely go back for the almond cake (one of the said local specialities)
