This is our family's 4th visit to Makena Surf and our first in building B which we loved as its the closest to the beach. As usual, the view and area cannot be beat. The unit itself was clean, comfortable and was super easy to access. No one will regret booking here!

This condo is located on the most beautiful beach in Maui. Was well equipped with everything we needed. It was very clean. The leasing company was great to deal with. We will be back for sure! If I had any suggestions it would be to upgrade the microwave that doubles as your oven and upgrade the patio furniture.

Fabulous
Makena Surf is a fantastic property to stay in West Maui. The beach is perfect for playing, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding and more. There are showers just off the beach for cleaning the sand off.
Unit B305 was just as it’s pictured and described online. Perfect for our small family of four. The beds were comfortable, the unit was clean, all the appliances were in good working order and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. No pantry basics or spices, but that wasn’t a problem for us. Better to know that everything is clean. If we plan another trip to Maui, this is exactly where we would choose to stay again.

Great location!
This condo has spectacular view of the ocean!. We stayed for 7 days and kids enjoyed the beach everyday. It is kind of a private beach, mostly for makena surf condo rental people. Sunset is gorgeous. Kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms etc were clean and well maintained.

The condo unit is spacious and comfortable. The beach is a fairly calm beach which is good for everyone (kids and grown ups). And it’s a few minutes from big beach for bigger waves. It’s a 15 minute drive to restaurants and take out places in Kehei (where most are). The unit had a couple of issues probably because it sat empty for a good while due to Covid, but the management company was on the ball and dealt with them quickly and efficiently. As you can see by the photos, it looks down on the beach with great views of the beach and nearby islands. There’s some decent snorkeling off to the left of the beach as well. Overall, an A grade place.

We had a lovely 8 days staying at Makena Surf. Great complex with a lovely pool and gorgeous beach. The apartment was very suitable for us and had everything we needed. We had a small issue with the entrance code but it was sorted out promptly and efficiently. Would most definitely recommend.

Makena Surf was great! My 2nd visit here. If you are looking for a west side comfortable and very quiet place to stay right on the beach, that is not crowded, with beautiful landscaping… this is your place. You snorkel right off the beach to see giant sea turtles within about 10 min! This complex feels very private and tucked away, but is still close enough to good restaurants in Wailea and Kihei.

Amazing Location
We loved our stay at Makena Surf. Unit is right on the beach - nothing beats falling asleep to the sound of the waves gently crashing on the shore. Beach is away from the main areas and was never crowded. Great location just south of the shops and restaurants of Wailea. Hope to be back soon!

This is a lovely property. Kitchen, though small is well equipped. The beach is lovely and was relatively uncrowded. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. Would like a little more available closet space in the master bedroom closet (half was used to store a mattress.

Quiet and peaceful
For part of our honeymoon, this property was perfect. The beach was right there with excellent snorkeling just off the rocks. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub daily. Loved our stay and would recommend this property.

Perfect location but needs some updates
This is our second time staying at Makena Surf. We love the location of this property and we loved being in building B. The unit itself was fully stocked and right on the water. It has a gorgeous view! The communication with management was super smooth and we had no issues with check-in.
There were a couple issues with cleanliness that would give me pause before staying here again. The master bedroom smelled very damp/musty and could use some inspection. The master bathroom had small ant-like bugs on the vanity and the unit likely needs to be sprayed for bugs. Lastly, the washer needs to be replaced or inspected and deep cleaned! It was moldy on the inside and made all of our clothes smell damp and sour.

Makena Surf is one of the best beaches in Maui
We have stayed at the Makena Surf several times and always love coming back. This particular unit was a great fit for our family of 4, with two bedrooms, a great view, and easy access to the beach. The unit itself could use some updating - the stove needs some repair (a problem if you like to cook) and the kitchen could use new utensils. That said, the unit is very comfortable and functional and the property managers were very helpful.

Great place, great property
In our opinion this was the perfect spot for our family. The grounds are beautiful, the view is incredible, and being able to BBQ on the Lanai is really nice. The beach is just a short walk with freshwater showers available on the walk back. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids and being able to have the pool and hot tub right downstairs was a big bonus. There isn’t an elevator, which would have been nice when we were toting our heavy luggage, but it was doable. We loved the location as you’re secluded, but right near Makena beach and good snorkeling. The unit was really clean when we arrived and we loved our stay.

Easy beach access, good snorkeling
This condo is at the quiet end of town - less traffic, less busy than near the larger resorts up the road. The back balcony looks over the beach. Open the large sliding doors and you can hear the crashing waves and see evening sunsets. It is a short walk down the flights of steps and around the end of the building to get to the beach that has soft sand and pleasantly cool-to-lukewarm water. Flippers are provided in a wooden chest on the front balcony (I'm not sure if there are masks or snorkels provided, as we brought our own.) If you swim out around the lava to the south/left end of the beach there is an area of shallow coral where you can see a wide variety of fish and sea turtles. Truly a lovely place to stay!
