A very quaint, secluded, quiet and private cottage. Not too far out of town, with a lovely cottage garden and grassy yard space. We stayed for one week over the summer break and found the cottage, due to the thick walled historical building was cool in temperature. Considering there is no kitchen, there is a small room with fridge and sink and bench space available for smaller food preparation, we coped well. The bbq was well used, by us, along with visits into the town for a great range of takeaways or dine in options. I would definitely return to Willyung Gate Keepers Cottage again.

The property is spacious, location is good. Well furnished. There is no proper kitchen, the water from tap was not very transparent so we drank bottle water. On the last day of our stay, while we were warming food using the microwave, the power went off i think the circuit was over loaded which is surprising because we were not even using the heaters, just microwave. It was around 7pm when this happened, then we tried to call and message the property manager 10s of times but no answer. Eventually the water went off as well and did not come back next morning 7am. The whole night without power and water, it was hell of a night with a kid and elderly.

Great historic cottage, in a quite area which was ideal for switching off and relaxing, yet only 12mins into town.

Properly is unique and located in a nice country setting. in general the property was clean and living ares were in good repair however being a very old building it did have a damp smell needs a air refresher installed. Veranda area needs thruogh clean including little table and pillows on cane chair. Can use some general repairs around garden front gate. For all this we enjoyed ouyr stay

The cottage is very cute and if you love cute cottages and antique style, you will love it. The Beds are very comfy and the host was kind and friendly.

Beautiful little place with a couple of little floor that should be expected of a historical l place. The owner was very responsive when needed. We enjoyed our stay.

The cottage has been furnished with antiques and paintings of the era. Comfy beds with warm linen. Lovely gardens surrounds the cottage and you can sit on the verandah to enjoy a cup of tea. A short drive into town and surrounding sites. Not haunted, which was a big disappointment for my friend!

Greg was helpful and has a great antique shop next door. Only 10 minutes from town and around the corner from strawberry farm and winery. Very small kitchen and and bit of a squeeze with kids but a great little cottage for a couple .

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay in this very cute Gatekeepers Cottage. Greg was lovely and we spent awhile looking through his antique shop next door and he gave us some ideas for expiring around the area. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway.

Very sweet stone cottage with very good amenities for 2 people.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage out of Albany. It was quiet and peaceful. The cottage was old and well furnished with period pieces. The age and quirkiness was part of its charm. The bed was one of the most comfy we have slept in. Heating kept it cozy and warm. The kitchenette was adequate although a few new utensils would be of benefit. Breakfast supplies were fantastic and very much enjoyed. Thanks for a wonderful stay and we have already recommended it.

Greg and Rhonda were fantastic hosts thankyou. The old cottage is cosy, it was good for the 2 of us as a couple, and the hosts supplied really nice provisions for our breakfast which we happily cooked ourselves. We were lucky that we had 2 nice days in Albany during July so cooking our breakfast and eating on the front Porch in the peaceful surroundings was enjoyable. The location near King River Bridge is only about 12 kms or so out of Albany central so an easy drive into town and the sites. Albany is a beautiful town and area to explore. The good thing about this location is you are close to exploring great bays and beaches and areas around Lower King, Nanarup and 2 Peoples Bay area and beyond. Also just that bit closer to the Stirling Ranges and Porongarups.

Greg is an excellent host and the accommodation did not disappoint. Very clean and tidy and well appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend a browse through the antique store that is on the property, as there is some amazing and reasonably priced items available.

Lovely cottage, very comfortable and in an idyllic setting. Kitchenette difficult to wash up in as sink too small and appeared to have no hot water. Shame as the fridge was filled with fresh produce for a cooked breakfast. Nevertheless would definitely stay again.

Lovely old stone cottage which is well equipped with bedding, towels etc. Cooking facilities are limited. The fridge was generously stocked with eggs, bacon, butter and milk. A great place to get away from it all.

Quiet Helpful host with generous breakfast bacon eggs and tomato supplied for own cooking. Also other useful small food supplies for an easy stay start. Big Bathroom. Nice TV with many channels. 3G 4G mobile signal sometimes talk and hear and sms may need redoing if signal is weak. Not often. Kitchen is small and only electric appliances usable with kettle portable hot plate and electric fry pan. Two queensize beds in two separate bedrooms are very comfortable.. Lots of linen towels etc provided. No clothes washing machine or easy line space. useful for longer stays. Need to go through second bedroom to get to only but large ensure bathroom co-located with single toilet. Privacy issues if all guests are not direct family. Nice grounds. Woolworths and shops.at Chester Pass mall 8km from property on 80 kmph road circa 7min. Very convenient. Town centre 12 minutes: convenient. Quiet during our stay. Very nice peaceful stay if the guest arrangements are suitable for the set out. Watch the deep ditch on car entry on left side for first time arivals. . Maybe the large pot wooden pot can be moved between the ditch and road verge. Property easy to find 1.8km on left after turn off onto Willyung Road from main Chester Pass Road. Would recommend host and place for two coipled only if sleepin arrangements suit But for single couple or family it's great, quiet and peaceful. Thanks Greg

Helpful host and everything catered for

Everything in the Gate Keeper's Cottage was in keeping with the era of the property. The BBQ breakfast out on the verandah was so delightful, and the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. We look forward to future stays there.
