Just off la Rue de la Rade which links the Pleasure Port with the sea-front, La Maison de Jeanne is situated in the heart of the old fishing quarter of Dieppe and is surrounded by the most delightful buildings and two small squares, La Place Du Petit Enfer and La Place Du Moulin À Vent. The flat is on the first floor and is well equipped for cooking and we were even able to invite a local French friend round for dinner. The bathroom and toilet adjoin both the sitting-room and the first bedroom, so if you occupy the second bedroom, you have to walk through the first bedroom to get to the loo. Similarly, to get from the sitting-room to the first or second bedrooms you have to walk through the bathroom. This was not really any problem at all. Parking presented no problem and was not only free but entirely uncontrolled, meaning that we could leave our car for days on end near the flat. The Saturday market in Dieppe is not to be missed and provided us with fresh produce to cook and consume over the weekend. Dieppe is well placed for visits and car rides. Nearby Varengeville was a treat with both its lovely clifftop church (where Georges Braque lies buried – there’s a window by the artist in the church) and the lovely Manoir d’Ango – again well worth a visit. We also visited Giverny and Lyons-La-Forêt. Some of the most glorious treats in Dieppe are to be found in its harbourside restaurants. Dieppe is fun to walk around in and a walk to the Château and to the clifftop church of Notre Dame de Bon Secours are both worth doing. Marjorie, our hostess, was very pleasant and helpful. We thoroughly recommend la Maison de Jeanne and would cheerfully stay there again. It is ideal for a family holiday.

A plug mechanism in the bathroom sink needs fixing.

The only point I would make is that from the range of photos, covering all of the properties in the building, and the description, I was led to believe that the studio was more spacious and had some outdoor space - and I didn't realise it was on the 2nd floor. My friend has difficulty walking so that wasn't ideal and I felt disappointed on arrival. However, we very much enjoyed our stay.

Marjorie met us upon arrival and showed us how to get the key from the key box. You will not find a more welcoming, bubbly or informative host. Marjorie was a delight. The apartment is in the heart of old town Dieppe and central to all amenities. The local roads are being upgraded and look a state, but this not upset our visit. Lots of free car parking along the seafront. The apartment has two large bedrooms, good bath/shower room, large living/dining room and a well equipped kitchen. There is also a very nice and private outdoor seating area. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Dieppe and staying in the apartment. If we visit again we will stay again!

Roads would have been good but this has nothing to do with Marjorie or the quality of the apartment.

Lovely traditional well equipped property in an ideal location, not far from the port, the beach and the shops. The host was very helpful providing clear information and making sure we met during our stay. It was nice and quiet too. A lovely place.
